Please read through this booklet for safe and efficient use of the appliance.

When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock,
and/or injury to persons, basic safety precautions should be followed, including
the following:
. Read all instructions carefully, even if you are familiar with the appliance.
. To protect against the risk of electric shock, DO NOT IMMERSE the appliance,
cord set or plug in water or other liquids.
. To clean, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
.Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
Never leave an appliance unattended when in use.
.Switch off and remove the plug from the power outlet when not in use before
assembling or disassembling parts, and pull from power outlet. Never pull the cord.
. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance
malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the complete
appliance to your nearest authorised service facility for examination, electrical
repair, mechanical repair or adjustment.
. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended or sold by this

. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table, counter, or touch hot surfaces.

How to install your Microwave Oven
Make sure that all the packing material is removed from the inside of the door.
Warning: Check the microwave oven for any damage, such as misaligned or bent door, damaged door seals and.
sealing surface, broken or loose door hinges and latches and dents inside the cavity or on the door.The door should
fit squarely and securely and open and close smoothly.The door seals are free from food and have noburn marks. If
there is any damage, please do not operate the microwave oven & contact the qualified service personnel.
Practical Hints:
.The microwaveoven should be placed on a flat stable surface which can hold the weight of the microwave oven and
the heaviestof food likely to be cooked inside.
. Donot placethe microwaveovenwhere heat, moisture,or high humidityare generatedor near combustiblematerials.
. Forcorrect operation, the microwaveoven must have sufficient airflow (20 cms above, 10 cms at the back, 5 cms on
both sides). Do not cover or block any openings.
. Do not removethe feet.
. Do not place anything on top of the oven.
. Do not operatethe microwave oven without the glass tray, roller support and shaft in their proper positions.
.Makesure that the power supply cord is undamaged and does not run under the microwaveoven or over any hot or
sharp surfaces.
. Ensurethat the socket is readily accessible so that it can be easily unplugged in case of emergency.
. Do not use the microwave oven outdoors.

. The appliance must be grounded. The oven is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug.
It must be plugged into a wall socket that is properly installed and grounded as it reauces the risk of electric shock in
case of short circuit. Using a high voltage is dangerous and may result in a fire or other accidents causing the oven
damage.
Note: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. The microwave oven should be operat-
ed on a separate circuit from other appliances. Failure to do so may cause the power board fuse to blow, and or food
to cook slower.
How to use your Microwave Oven
The appliance is intended to heat, cook or dry food for household use only.
. Arrange the food carefully. Place the thickest areas towards the outside of the dish.
. Watchthe cooking time. Cook for the shortest amount oftime and add more as required. Foodseverely overcooked
can smoke or ignite thereby causing damage.
. Ensure that you cover the food while cooking. Covers prevent splattering and the food cooks evenly.
. Turnfoods over once during the cycle to speed cooking of foods such as chicken & burgers. Large items like roasts
must be turned over at least once.
.Rearrange foods such as meat balls halfway through the cooking cycle both from top to bottom and centre of the dish
to the outside.

To start a cooking session,
1.

Place food in oven and close the door.
Turn Power Selector to select a power level.
Use Timer knob to set a cooking time.

NOTE:
As soon as the timer is turned, oven starts cooking.
When selecting time for less than 2 minutes, turn timer past 2 minutes and then return to the correct time.
CAUTION:ALWAYSRETURNTIMER BACK TO ZERO POSITION if food is removed from oven before the set cook-
ingtime iscomplete orwhen oven is not in use.Tostop ovenduring cooking process,push the door releasebutton and
open the door.
How to care for your microwave oven
Utensilspermissiblefor useinmicrowaveoven:
. Useutensilswhich allowthe energy to passthrough the container and heatthefood. Only use a temperatureprobe
recommendedfor this microwave oven.
. Donot use metal or dishes with metallic trim.
. Donot use recycled paper products as they may contain small metal fragments which may cause sparks or fires.
. Roundor oval dishes are recommended rather than square / oblong ones as food in corners tends to overcook.
. Narrowstripsof aluminiumfoil may be used to prevent over-cookingof exposed areas. But be careful not to use
too much and keep a distance of 1 inch between the foil and cavity.
. The oven should be cleaned ocassionally,particularly around the door seal area.

. Keep the inside of the oven clean. When food splatters or spilled liquids adhere to oven walls, wipe with a damp
cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the oven gets very dirty. Avoid the use of spray or other harsh cleaners as they
may stain, streak or dull the door surface.
. Turn off the oven and remove the power plug from the socket before cleaning.
. The outside surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside the oven,
water should not be allowed to seep into the ventilating openings.
. Wipe the doors and window on sides, the door seals and adjacent parts frequently with a damp cloth to remove any
spills or splatters. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
. Do not allow the operating panel to become wet. Clean with a soft, damp cloth. When cleaning the control panel, leave
the oven door open to prevent the oven from accidentally turning on.
.If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when the
microwave oven is operated under high humidity condition and it is normal.
.The roller ring and oven floor should be cleaned regularly to avoid excessive noise. Simply wipe the bottom surface
of the oven with mild detergent. The roller ring may be washed in mild sudsy water or dishwasher. When removing
the roller ring from the cavity floor for cleaning be sure to replace in the proper position.
.Remove odours from your oven by combining a cup of water with the juice and skin of one lemon in a deep
microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 5 minutes. Wipe thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
. When it becomes necessary to replace the oven light, please Cbntact the nearest Black & Decker service
concessionaire.
Important instructions
1. Do not tamper with or deactivate the interlocking devices on the door.
2. Never poke an object, particularly a metal object between the door and the oven while the oven is in
operation.
Do not operate the microwavewhen empty.
To reduce the risk of fire in the oven cavity:
a. When heating the food in plastic or paper container, keep an eye on the oven due to the possibility of
ignition.
b. Removethe wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing in oven.
c. If smoke is observed, switchoff or unplug the microwaveoven and keepthe door closed to stifle any flames.
d. Do not,usethe cavity for storage purposes. Do not leave paper products, cooking utensilsor food in the
cavity when not in use.
Liquid or other foods must not be heated in sealed containers as they are liable to explode.
Microwave heating of beveragecan result in delayed eruptive boiling;therefore care has to be taken when
handling the container.
Do not fry food in the oven. Hotoil can damage oven parts and utensils and even result in skin burns.
Eggs in their shell and whole hard boiled eggs should not be heated in the microwaveovens since they may
explode evenafter microwave heated has ended.
Pierce foods with heavy skins such as potatoes, whole squashes, apples and chestnuts before cooking.
The content of feeding bottles and baby food jars should be stirred or shaken and the temperature should be
checked before serving in order to avoid bums.
11. Utensils should be checked to ensure that they are suitable for use in microwaveoven. (Please referto table
provided in Utensils permissible section)Youcan also carry out a test to ensure that it is microwavesafe.
Place the empty utensil in the microwaveoven at high power for 60 seconds. A utensil which becomes very
hot should not be used. Neverdo this with metal utensils.

Do not remove the outer panelfrom the oven.

Oven gloves/Pot holders may be needed as needed as heat from food is transterred to the cooking container
andfrom the containerto the glass tray.The glass tray can bevery hot after removing the cooking container
from the oven.
Cooking utensils may become hot because of the heattransferred from the heated food. Oven gloves / Pot
holders should be used needed to handle the utensils.
Do not store flammable materials next to or on top of or in the oven. Itcould be a fire hazard.
Do not cook food directly on the glass tray unless indicated inthe recipes. (Food should be placed in a
suitable cooking utensil)
Do not use this oven to heat chemicals or other non-food products. Do not cleanthis oven with any product
that is labelled as containing corrosive chemicals. The heating of corrosive chemicals inthe oven may cause
microwaveradiation leaks.
When using the combination mode, never place any aluminium or metal container directly onthe oven rack.
Always insert a heat proof, glass plate or dish between the oven rack and the aluminium container.This will
prevent sparking that may damage the oven.
Never use the oven rack when cooking in the microwave mode.
Do not use the oven for home carming or heating of any closed jar. Pressure will build up and the jar may
explode. Inaddi tion, the microwave oven cannol maintain the food at the correct canning temperature.
Improperly canned food may spoil and be dangerous to consume.
Itshazardous for anyone other than a competent person to carry out any service or repair operation that
involves the removal ofa cover that gives protection against exposure to microwave energy.
Only allow children to use the oven without supervision when adequate instructions have been given so that
the child is able to use the oven in a safe way and understandsthe hazards of improper use.
Failure to maintain the oven in a clean condition could leads to deterioration of the surface that could adverse
Iy affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation. Regular cleaning is advised.
It is not recommended that this product is used by children.
Never leave metal utensils in the Microwave.
BEFORE REqUESTING SERVICE:
THINGS WHICH MAY HAPPEN AND ARE NORMAL:
1. You may experience some radio interference to your radio, TV or similar equipment. When there is
interference, it may be reduced or eliminated by taking the following measures:
a. Clean the door and sealing surfaces of the oven.
b. Reorient the receiving antenna of radio or television.
c. Relocate the microwave oven with respect to the receiver.
d. Move the microwave oven away from the receiver.
e. Plug the microwave oven into a different outlet so that microwave oven and receiver are on different
branch circuits.
During cooking, when food heats up, the warm air generated circulates inside the oven cavity which may
escape through the vents. Some of it may condense into steam and accumulate on the oven door.
There may be humming and clicking sound when cooking by Combination as the oven automatically switches
from microwave power to Grill to create a combination setting making the sound.

Black & Decker provides a 2 Year Warranty for this product from the date of purchase against
defects due to defective materials or workmanship. Motor/element burn-outs due to voltage fluctu-
ations are not covered under warranty. If the product should become defective within the warranty
period, Black & Decker will repair or (at Black & Decker's discretion) replace it
free of charge.
The warranty provisions do not cover failure due to accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or non
observation of local regulations on the part of the user. Equally, the warranty provisions do not
apply where the appliance has been serviced by a person not authorised by Black & Decker or ser-
viced with' non-approved parts and this has contributed to the fault of the product. Superseded
models without a replacement equivalent will either be repaired or (at
Black & Decker's discretion) replaced with another product of. similar retail value.
UPON PURCHASE
Fill in the Warranty Registration Card with the original Authorised Dealer's stamp (indicating date
of purchase) and attach your purchase receipt to it. Retain in case of claims in the future.
MAKING A CLAIM
Take your defective product together with the Warranty Registration Card & purchase receipt to
your local service Centre. You can either do this in person or send it freight prepaid. If mailing or
shipping your appliance, ensure and remove all the water and pack it carefully in a sturdy carton
with enough packing material to prevent damage, Include a note describing the problem to the ser-
vice Centre and be sure to give your return address.
