outlet for normal operation.

When the status bar at the top of the screen displays a status icon, tap and hold the
status bar and slide downward to open the notications panel.
4.5 Using the Touchscreen
Action Function Operation

4.6 Handset Range
The Smart 64 Android Smart Home Phone achieves optimum reception for telephone
calls when there is clear line of sight between the base and handset. Any obstruc-
tion between the base and handset will reduce the range signicantly. With the base
indoors and handset either indoors or outdoors, the range will normally be up to 50
meters.
4.7 Handset Signal Strength
The on your handset indicates when you are in range of the base.
When out of range of the base the signal strength indicator will show no bars, and if
you are on a call the line will hang up. If this happens, move back within range. The
handset will automatically re-connect to the base.
Note
If you have difculty reconnecting, see page 30 to reconnect manually.
Thick stone walls, large metal objects, such as refrigerators, mirrors or ling cabi-
nets, or other electrical equipment may lower your signal strength.
4.8 Handset Home Screen
To return to the Home screen at anytime press . You can also return to the Home
screen by pressing multiple times.
4.9 Handset Extended Home Screens
Extended Home screens let you organise apps (applications) and widgets on your
handset. You can conveniently access them from the Home screen.
1. Slide horizontally across the screen (left or right).
2. A slider bar at the bottom of the screen indicates which screen you are viewing.
3. To add apps or widgets to your Home screen tap
> APP / WIDGETS tab.
4. Tap and drag to desired location.

4.10 Handset Lock Screen
1. By default, the phone screen will be locked, tap and slide any direction to
unlock.
2. The Home screen will be displayed.
4.11 Wake Up the Handset
The LCD screen dims to conserve battery when not in use. Press the power button
once to turn the screen back on then unlock the screen.
Your handset is set by default to sleep after 1 minute of inactivity. You can change
this by going to Settings > Display > Sleep > select time.
4.12 Handset Screen Rotation
The handset has a tilt / orientation sensor, which detects if you are holding it in por-
trait or landscape mode. By default, automatic screen rotation will be turned on.
1. Turn ON automatic screen rotation: Settings > Display > Auto-rotate screen.
Automatic screen rotation is ON when the shows.
2. Turn OFF automatic screen rotation: Settings > Display > Auto-rotate screen.
Auto-rotate screen is OFF when the disappears.

• The Home screen and the phone screens can only be displayed in portrait mode.

5.4 Charge the Handset Battery
When using your Smart 64 Android Smart Home Phone for the rst time, connect the
supplied power cord to the handset and charge for at least 6 hours.
Means the battery is still charging.
Means the battery is fully charged.
IMPORTANT
Only use the supplied 5V DC USB charger to charge the handset.
5.5 Low Battery Warning
If the " Connect charger" message appears on the display, you should charge the
handset.
Tip
Tap Battery use to see how your battery power is being used.
5.6 Battery Performance
When the battery is used for the rst time, it will not reach full capacity until it has
been fully discharged and recharged during normal use over several days.
To keep your battery in good condition, leave the handset charging for a few hours at
a time. Draining the battery completely at least once a month before recharging will
help prolong battery life.
Setting Up
5 SETTING UP
5.1 Insert the Handset Battery
To access the battery compartment, carefully remove the cover as shown, then gently
insert the battery into place.
5.2 Connecting Power Cable and Telephone Lines
IMPORTANT
The base must be plugged into an electrical outlet at all times.
Only use the adapter and telephone line cord supplied with the product.
1. Plug one end of the power cable into Power Line In, and the other end into a
power outlet.
2. Plug one end of the phone line into Phone Line In, and the other end into a tele-
phone wall plug.
5.3 Registering Handset to Base
1. Press and hold Register Button on base for at least 5 seconds.
2. On the handset screen tap
> Settings > Dect manager > Register the hand-
set > OK.

Tips
Battery life will also depend on your pattern of use.
It is normal for your battery to become slightly warm during use.
Here are some things you can do to help increase the battery life:
Reduce screen brightness.
Turn Wi-Fi off when not in use.
Reduce the display sleep settings.
5.7 Inserting a Memory Card
Your handset supports micro SD cards up to 32GB. You can store music,
pictures, les and applications on a memory card and access them on the handset.
1. Turn your phone off.
2. To access the memory card slot, open the back case see "Inserting the handset
battery".
3. Remove the battery.
4. Insert the memory card by sliding the card rmly into the memory card slot as
shown in the diagram.
5. Insert the battery.
6. Put the cover back on.
7. Turn phone on.
If the SD card fails to mount on the handset, Tap
> Settings > Storage > Mount
SD card.
5.8 Removing the Memory Card
To remove the memory card:
1. Turn your phone off.
2. To access the memory card slot, open the back case see "Inserting the handset
battery".
3. Remove the battery.
4. Insert the memory card by sliding the card rmly into the memory card slot as
shown in the diagram.
5. Insert the battery.
6. Put the cover back on.
7. Turn phone on.
5.9 Switching Your Phone On
1. Press and hold Power on the top of the handset until the startup image appears.
It takes about one minute for the handset to power up completely.
2. By default, the phone screen will be locked, tap and slide the Lock Icon any
direction to unlock.
3. The Home screen will be displayed.
5.10 Switching Your Phone Off
1. Press and hold the Power button.
2. Tap Power Off.
3. Tap OK to conrm.

Keyboard Keyboard
6 KEYBOARD
Your handset features a Qwerty keyboard, which has the same key arrangement as
that of a standard computer keyboard. The on-screen keyboard lets you enter text
such as contact information and email messages.
The keyboard appears automatically when you launch certain applications or when
you tap on a text or number eld.
Tip
To hide the on-screen keyboard, press .
6.1 Entering Text and Numbers
Tap on a text or number eld to bring up the keyboard. When entering text or num-
bers, each letter or number will appear above the keyboard.
Tip
Press and hold a character to bring up accented versions.
If the tilt orientation sensor is switched on, turn your handset to portrait mode for a
larger keypad.
6.2 Switch Between Input Modes
Tap ABC/?123 to switch between letters, numbers or symbols

to switch between lower or upper case letters, or tap ?123 > =/< to switch
between different symbol sets.
6.3 Change the Display Language
1. From the Home screen, press .
2. Tap Settings > Language & input > Language.
3. Scroll to your preferred display language and tap to select.
The display will return to the previous menu screen, but in your selected language.
6.4 Modify Keyboard Settings
1. From the Home screen, press .
2. Tap Settings > Language & input > Android keyboard
.
3. Tap to select or de-select desired settings, press to return to the previous
menu.
6.5 Add Words to User Dictionary
1. From the Home screen, press .
2. Tap Settings > Language & input > Personal Dictionary.
3. Tap + .
4. Enter word in the edit box and tap OK.
5. Press
to return to the previous menu.
Tip
To edit a word in the User dictionary, tap and hold the word, then tap the word to
modify it. To delete a word, tap the red X beside it.
6.6 Accept or Reject Dictionary Suggestions
Depending on the application you are using, the phone dictionary will suggest correc-
tions or completes the word you are typing.
To accept the suggested word, simply tap on the suggested entry. To reject the sug-
gested word, simply continue typing.
For the dictionary to suggest changes, Spelling correction must rst be turned on
and set to the correct language.
1. Tap Settings > Language & input.
2. Tap the checkbox beside Spell checker.
will appear to indicate that Spelling correction is on.
3. Tap
> Globe symbol.
4. Select a language.
Tip
Words in your User Dictionary are included in this function, and can be added or
removed in Settings > Language & input > Personal Dictionary.
6.7 Edit Text
Tap and hold on the word you have typed to activate Edit text options and tap to
select an option.

Wi-Fi Settings
7 WI-FI® SETTINGS
The handset Wi-Fi can be accessed at any time using the settings menu.
To use Wi-Fi, you must rst make sure it is turned on.
1. From the Home screen, tap
> Settings.
2. Slide bar next to Wi-Fi to the ON position.
3. Tap Wi-Fi and select a network you want to connect to.
If the network is secured, you will be prompted to enter a password.
If your Wi-Fi network is not shown on the menu, try scanning for it by tapping
> Scan.
4. Tap on the Password edit box to launch the on-screen keyboard.
5. Enter the Wi-Fi network password and tap Done.
6. Tap Connect.
The handset will search for the IP address of the network you have selected.
This may take a few minutes.
When connected,
appears on the status bar of the handset.
Date, Time, & Display

When using the phone for the rst time, or if the battery has been left uncharged, you
may need to set the time and date.
8.1 Set Date
1. From the Home screen, tap .
2. Tap Settings > Date & time.
3. Tap Set date.
4. Tap up or down to set Day, Month and Year.
5. Tap Set to conrm.
8.2 Set Time

8.2.2 Select 24-Hour Format
Tap Settings > Date & time > Use 24-hour format to enable it, tap again to disable.
The 24-hour format is activated when appears next to the option.
8.2.3 Select Date Format
1. Tap Select date format to show the options.
2. Tap to select your preferred date format.
8.3 Display
1. Tap Settings > Display > Brightness.
Slide the brightness control bar right or left to increase or decrease the screen
brightness.
Or select Automatic brightness to allow you phone to set the level automati-
cally using the built in light sensor.
2. Tap OK to conrm.
3. Adjust any other display settings, such as Font size.
Press to return to the settings list.

Tip
Conserve battery life by reducing brightness levels.

9 PERSONALIZING YOUR HANDSET
9.1 Display Settings
9.1.2 Set Wallpaper
1. From the Home screen, press .
2. Tap Wallpaper.
3. Tap to select Gallery, Live wallpapers, or Wallpapers.
Tip
If you select Live wallpapers or Wallpapers, simply tap to select a wallpaper from
the list and tap Set wallpaper.
4. If you select Gallery, double tap to select your desired picture.
An image position box will appear at the center of the picture.
To resize the picture, tap and hold the edge of the box, and drag inward or
outward.
To move the box to another area on the picture, tap and hold inside the box,
then drag it to the desired position.
5. Tap Crop to set that picture as wallpaper.
9.1.3 Reposition Items on Your Home Screen
1. Tap and hold the item you wish to reposition until it turns bigger.
2. Slide to move the item or slide and pause at the edge of the screen to drag the
item onto another Home screen.
3. Release the item when it is correctly placed.
9.1.4 Add Apps to Your Home Screen
1. Tap to open the launcher and view all your applications.
2. Tap and hold an application icon until it expands.
The application icon will be placed on the Home screen.
9.1.5 Remove an Item from Your Home Screen
1. Tap and hold the item that you wish to remove until it expands.
2. Drag and drop the item into X Remove.

9.2 Sound Settings
9.2.1 Set Silent Mode
This option enables you to mute all sounds except media and alarms.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap Settings > Audioproles > Silent.
A tick
will appear next to the option to indicate that silent mode is on. To turn silent
mode off, tap the Silent mode check box again.
9.2.2 Set Volume
This option enables you to set separate volumes for Ringtone & notications, Media,
and Alarm.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap Settings > Audioproles >
> Volumes .
3. Drag the slider to the left or right to decrease or increase each of the volumes and

9.2.3 Set Phone Ringtone
This option enables you to set the ringtone on your handset.
1. From the Home screen, press

2. Tap Settings > AudioProles > General >
>Phone ringtone.
3. Tap to select a ringtone from the list.
4. The ringtone is played.
5. Tap OK to conrm.
9.2.4 SetDefaultNoticationRingtone
This option enables you to set the default notication ringtone.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap Settings > AudioProles > General >
> Defaultnoticationsound.
3. Tap to select a ringtone from the list.
4. The ringtone is played.
5. Tap OK to conrm.
Personalizing Your Handset
9.2.5 Enable or Disable Dial-Pad Touch Tones
This option lets you enable or disable the playing of touch tones on your handset
when using the dial pad.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap Settings > AudioProles > General >
> Dial-pad touch Tones.
3. A
will appear next to the option to indicate that touch tones is enabled.
4. To disable, tap Dial-pad touch tones again.
9.2.6 Enable or Disable Touch Sounds
This option lets you enable or disable the playing of sounds on your handset when
making a screen selection.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap Settings > AudioProles > General >
> Touch sounds.
3. A will appear next to the option to indicate that touch sounds are on.
4. To disable, tap Touch sounds again.

10 DECT SETTINGS
10.1 Register Handset to Base
Your handset needs to be registered to the base station before it can be used.
1. Press and hold Register Button on base for at least 5 seconds.
2. On the handset screen tap
> Settings > Dect manager > Register the hand-
set > OK.
The handset will begin searching for the base station.
If successful, “Handset registration done !” is displayed.
10.2. Delete Handset Registration
1. From the Home screen, Tap > Dect Manager > Delete handset registration
2. Tap OK.
The handset will be registration deleted
If successful, “Handset deletion done!” is displayed.
Using the Phone Functions
12 USING THE PHONE FUNCTIONS
12.1 Make an External Call
Placing an external call using the Smart 64 Android Smart Home Phone handset is
similar to dialling with a mobile phone.
1. From the Home screen tap to access the phone tab and dial pad.
2. Enter the phone number.
3. Tap to dial the number.
4. Press to end the call.
Tip
If you enter a wrong number, Tap to delete the digits one by one.
12.1.2 In-call Options
During a call, you can access the following options:
Dial pad Shows dialer pad for Touch tone dial and Recall (R) function.
End Call Ends the current call.
Mute Mutes the handset microphone.
Speaker Switch to speaker phone.
12.2 Make External Calls from Call Log
The Call log contains details of dialled, missed and received calls.
Note
Missed and received calls are only available if you have a caller ID service on your
phone (page).
1. From the Home screen tap
> tab to access the list of numbers and con-
tacts in the call log.
2. Tap next to the call log entry to call that number.
3. Press to end the call.

12.3 Clear Call Log
1. From the Home screen, tap > .
2. Press
and tap to Delete, then select call log to delete and press OK to con-
rm.
12.4 Make an External Call from People List
The People list is like a phone book that stores names, telephone numbers, and
other information of your contacts on the handset.
You must have the telephone number of the person you wish to call already stored in
your People list (see page 35 for instructions on how to add contacts).
1. From the Home screen, tap
> People tab.
2. Select a person in the contacts list.
3. Tap the people contact to dial the number.
4. Press
to end the call.
12.5 Answer Call in Earpiece Mode
If an earpiece is plugged in when the phone rings, press to accept the call and
listen through the earpiece of the handset. Keep handset microphone close to your
mouth.
12.6 Answer Call in Speakerphone Mode
1. When the phone rings, press to accept the call.
2. Tap Speaker.
12.7 End a Call
Press to end a call.
Using the Phone Functions
12.8 Adjust Volume Level During a Call
During a call, press up or down key to increase or decrease the volume.
12.9 Mute the Microphone During a Call
During a call, press mute .
12.10 Caller Identity Delivery (CID)
The Caller Identity Delivery (CID) feature lets you know who is calling and which calls
you have missed. Both answered and missed calls are saved to the Call log.
If you have subscribed to a Caller ID service, and if the identity of the caller is not
withheld or unavailable, the number of the caller will be displayed.
Note
Information about incoming calls will vary by country and network operator. Some
providers charge a subscription for their Caller ID service.
12.11 Caller ID Directory Matching
If you have subscribed to the Caller ID service with your network service provider,
and the caller’s number matches a telephone number you have stored in your People
list, it will display that persons name when they call.

Contacts (Address Book)
13 CONTACTS (ADDRESS BOOK)
This application stores contact information such as names, telephone numbers, and
addresses.
13.1 Open Contacts
You can access your contacts two ways:
1. From the Home screen, tap
> > .
If the phone shortcut is already on your Home screen, tap
> .
2. From the Home screen, press
> Contacts.
Tip
Tap a contact to dial.
13.2 Saving Contacts Locally
All contacts will be saved to your handset memory.
Tap > Contacts > Create a new contact > Store locally.
13.3 Synchronize Contacts Using Bluetooth
Use Bluetooth to synchronize contacts between your handset and another device.
1. First make sure Bluetooth on both devices is turned ON.
2. From the Home screen, tap
> > .
3. Tap
> Import/export > Share visible contacts or Send namecard via (for
Android 2.3 users).
4. Tap Select all or individual contacts from the list, appears when selected.
5. Tap Send > Bluetooth > GM_722 device, your phone will scan other devices.
6. Select a device from the list.
7. Tap on the le to accept the incoming le request, when successful "Paired " will
appear.
8. A status indicator will display the progress.
9. When complete the new contact(s) will be visible in your contacts list.
13.4 Search for a Contact
1. From the Home screen, Tap > .
2. Tap the contact to make call or press to return to the previous menu.
Tip
You can also scroll up and down to nd a contact > tap to select.

13.5 Add a New Contact
You can add new contacts one of two ways:

> > People > > New contact.

Note
If saving a contact for the rst time, you will be given an option to:
Synchronize with phone, tap OK.
Add new account. This will give you the option to add an Exchange account.
1. Tap on the Name input box, enter the rst name and tap Next.
2. Tap the down arrow to the right to enter the Last name of the contact, then tap
Next.
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Addanothereld to add more
information such as, Phonetic name, IM, Notes, Nickname, Website, and Internet
Call.
4. Proceed to enter the following information, if required:
Organization
Phonetic name
Phone (select phone description from list)
Email (select email descriptions from list)
IM (Instant Message)
Address (select address description from list)
Notes
Nickname
5. Tap DONE when nished.
Note
The new contact will be stored in your Contact list, and is also visible on your Contact
App.
13.6 Assign a Ringtone to a Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contact.
2. Tap to select a contact.
3. Press > Set ringtone.
4. Tap to select a ringtone.
The ringtone is played.
5. Tap OK to conrm.

The default ringtone will be used if a specic ringtone is not assigned to a contact.
The selected ringtone will only play if the caller id from the call matches the stored
contact number.
13.7 Import/Export Contacts
You can copy contacts from SD card to phone or from phone to SD card.
1. From the Home screen, Tap
> Contacts.
2. Tap
> SD card > Next > Phone contact.
3. Select where you want your contacts copied from > Next.
4. Select where you want your contacts copied to > Next.
5. Select the contacts you want to copy > OK.
Tip
To cancel call blocking, repeat the above to remove the check mark.
13.8 Add Contact as Favorite
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contact.
2. Select a contact from the contacts list > tap .
3. The contact is saved to your favorites list if the star turns white.
13.9 Edit a Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contacts.
2. Select a contact >
> Edit.
3. Go to the information eld you wish to edit.
4. Tap DONE when you are nished.
Note
To discard the changes you have made, tap > Discard.
13.10 Deleting a Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contact.
2. Tap to select the contact from the contacts list.
3. Press > Delete.
4. Tap OK to conrm.
13.11 Link Picture to a Contact
You can link a picture to your contact so you see a picture of the contact when you
search through the Contacts list or when a contact calls you. You can either take a
photo or select it from the Gallery.
Contacts (Address Book)
13.11.1 Take a Photo
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contacts.
2. Select a contact from the contacts list.
3. Press
> Edit > tap the face box to the right of the rst name eld.
4. Tap
to take photo.
5. Tap to take a picture > tap to accept X or retake.
An image position box will appear at the center of the picture.
To resize the picture, tap and hold the edge of the box, and drag inward or
outward.
To move the crop box to another area on the picture, tap and hold inside the
box, then drag it to the desired position.
6. Tap OK to link the picture to the contact.
13.11.2 Select from the Gallery
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contacts.
2. Select a contact from the contacts list.
3. Press > Edit > tap grey face box to the right of the rst name eld.
4. Tap Select new photo from Gallery.
5. Select the location of your image > tap to select an image.
6. Tap OK to link the picture to the contact.
13.11.3 Change Picture of a Contact
Simply repeat the steps above, but instead of seeing a grey image box, you will see
the image you chose for that contact.
13.11.4 Remove a Picture of a Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap > Contacts.
2. Select a contact from the contacts list.
3. Press > Edit > tap the image.
4. Tap Remove photo.
13.12 Calling a Contact
You can call a person from your contacts list one of two ways:
> Contacts > tap a contact.

Internet Function
14 INTERNET FUNCTION
Before you can use the Internet to send and receive email, browse the web etc., you
must be joined to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the Internet.
For Wi-Fi networks that are not password secured, you can easily connect to them
and access the Internet freely. However, for Wi-Fi networks that are password se-
cured, you will rst need the password to access the Internet.
14.1 Connecting to Wi-Fi
1. From the Home screen, press .
2. Tap Settings > Slide Wi-Fi to the ON position.
3. Tap Wi-Fi to display a list of available Wi-Fi networks.
4. Tap the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect to. If you cannot nd your favorite
Wi-Fi network name, tap SCAN.
If the network is not secured with a wireless password/key, handset will start
to establish a link with it.
If it is a secured network, you will be prompted to enter a password.
5. Enter the wireless password.
6. Tap Connect.
If successful, “Connected” will show below your selected Wi-Fi network. You can now
use the Internet, provided the Wi-Fi router is connected to the internet.
Note
Your handset will automatically connect the network when it is in range.
If more than one previously used network is in range, the handset will join the one
last used.
If you encounter problems connecting to the Wi-Fi network using precongured
settings, tap on the network and select Forget to forget the “Remembered” net-
work, then perform setup again.
Internet Function
14.2 Select Wi-Fi Sleep Policy
You can specify when to put the Wi-Fi connection to sleep.
1. From the Home screen, press
.
2. Tap to select Settings > Wi-Fi.
3. Press .
4. Select Advanced > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.
5. Select:
Always
Only when plugged in
Never
Tip
To help conserve battery life, select > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep > Only when
plugged in.
14.3 Check the MAC Address
For secured Wi-Fi networks with MAC address ltering you will need to include the
MAC address before a connection can be established.
To check the MAC address:
1. From the Home screen, tap
> Settings > Wi-Fi.
2. Press > tap Advanced to show the MAC address in the list.

Bluetooth Setup
15 BLUETOOTH SETUP
On this device, bluetooth connectivity is used for data transfer only, no Bluetooth
voice communication supported.
1. From the Home screen, tap
> Settings > Slide to the ON position.
2. Tap Bluetooth.
3. Tap GM_722E to make your handset visible to other devices.
Note that when the timer runs down you will have to perform the above steps
once more.
Make sure bluetooth on your computer is turned ON.
A list of available devices will show on your handset screen.
4. Select the device name that matches your computer and follow the onscreen
instructions to connect.

See section 13.3 for instructions how to "Synchronize Contacts Using Bluetooth".
Using the Web Browser
16 USING THE WEB BROWSER
You can use the Browser to surf the web. The Browser is fully optimized and comes
with advanced features that let you enjoy Internet browsing on your handset.

YOU MUST JOIN A WI-FI NETWORK THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET
BEFORE YOU CAN SURF THE WEB VIA THE BROWSER APPLICATION. SEE
PAGE 38 ON HOW TO JOIN A WI-FI NETWORK.
16.1 Open a Browser
From the Home screen, tap > Browser.
16.2 Set the Search Engine
1. In the Browser window, tap and tap Settings.
2. Tap Advanced > Set search engine.
3. Select a search engine from the menu.
16.3 Set the Homepage
1. In the Browser window, tap >Settings > Advanced > Set search engine.
2. Select an option from the list.
16.4 Open a Web Page
In the Browser window, tap the address bar, enter a web address, then tap Go.
Tip
If you cannot see the address bar, try scrolling to the top of the screen.
Note
As you enter the address, matching web page addresses will appear on the
screen.
Tap to select an address and go directly to the web page, or continue to enter the
complete web page address and tap Go.

16.5 Automatic Screen Rotation
The handset can changes the screen orientation depending on how you are holding
it.
To turn ON automatic screen orientation, from the Home screen, tap
and tap Set-
tings > Display > Auto-rotate screen (a check mark
will appear).
Tip
Web pages will appear larger in landscape mode.
Note
The Home screen and the phone screens can only be displayed in portrait mode.
16.6 Zoom In and Out of a Web Page
When viewing a web page, double tap the screen to zoom in and out, or zoom / out in
by touching the screen and pinching / spreading ngers out.
16.6.1 Open a New Browser Window
You can open multiple browser windows and switch between different web pages.
In the Browser window:
1. In the browser window, tap the
to the right of the address bar.
2. Tap + to open a new window.
3. A new browser window opens and enters the Site navigation page.
Tips
Bookmark current page by pressing
> Save to bookmarks.
View bookmarks, browsing history and more by pressing
> Bookmarks/History.
16.6.2 Switch Between Browser Windows
1. In the browser window, tap the to the right of the address bar.
2. Scroll to your desired browser window then tap to display.
16.6.3 Close a Browser Window
1. In the browser window, tap the to the right of the address bar.
2. Tap the X against the browser window you wish to close.
16.6.4 Finding Text On a Webpage
1. When viewing a webpage, press and tap > Find on page.
2. Enter the text in the input box using the on-screen keyboard and tap Done.
Matching text will be highlighted on the screen.
3. Tap < or > to go to the previous or next matching text.
4. Tap to close the search box.
Using the Web Browser
16.7 Selecting Links On a Web Page
1. Tap to go to the link directly or tap and hold the link to open pop-up menu.
2. Then choose one of the following:
Open, Open in new background tab, Save link, Copy link URL, Select Text
16.8 View Downloads
From he Home screen, tap > File Manager > Phone storage > Download.
Note
All downloaded applications are saved to your SD card.
Before downloading from the web, make sure you have inserted an SD card.
16.9 Manage Bookmarks
You can store bookmarks on your phone.
16.9.1 Bookmark a Web Page
1. In the Browser window, go to the web page you want to bookmark.
2. Press > Save to Bookmarks.
3. Tap OK to conrm.
16.9.2 Open a Bookmark
1. In the Browser window, Press > Bookmarks, the bookmark window opens.
2. Tap to select the bookmark to open it.
16.10 Customize Browser Options
You can customize the Browser to suit your browsing preferences by setting the
display, privacy, and security options.
In the Browser window, press
> Settings. Modify the browser settings according
to your preferences.

17 EMAIL
The email application lets you send and receive email. You will need an existing
email account to send and receive email. If you already have an account, you can
simply enter your login details, otherwise you will need to create a new one.
NOTE

BEFORE YOU CAN SETUP, SEND AND RECEIVE EMAIL. SEE PAGE 38.
You can set up email for most accounts in just a few steps.
17.1 Connecting to an Online Email Account.
You can connect to an online email service such as Gmail by following these steps.
1. From the Home screen, tap
> Email.
2. As you begin to enter your email address, a list of extensions will pop up if your
email extension is part of an online service that is recognized.
3. Enter your password and tap NEXT.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to nish setting up your account.
17.2 Connecting to POP, IMAP or Exchange Server
You can also connect to your email accounts using other methods.
1. From the Home screen, tap
> Email.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Enter your password.
Note
As you begin to enter your password, the Manual setup option will become avail-
able.
4. Tap Manual setup, then select from the following:
POP3
IMAP
Exchange
5. Once you have chosen your method of connection, follow the on screen instruc-
tions to nish setting up your account.
Email
17.3 Adding Another Email Account
You can connect to more than one email account. To add another, tap > Set-
tings > ADD ACCOUNT.
Note When setting up more than one account, you will be prompted to chose which
account you want to set as your default account.
17.4 Combined View
You can combine all your email accounts into just one inbox.
From inside the Email application, tap Inbox > Combined view.
Note
There will also be options to view your other accounts separately.
17.5 Compose an Email Message
1. From the Home screen, press > Email.
2. From the Inbox tap the
at the bottom left corner of the screen.
3. Enter the recipients Email address in the To eld.
Tip
Separate multiple recipient email addresses with a comma. You can add multiple
recipients.
4. Press
and select Add Cc/Bcc to add a carbon or blind copy.
5. Enter the subject of this message in the Subject eld.
6. Tap the Compose email eld and begin composing your message.
7. Once complete tap send

Tip
Press
for other options such as Attach le, Discard, Save draft (to nish com-
posing your message later).
