12. Line-Cord Polarization
Thisproductis equippedwith a polarized
aLternating-currentline plug (a plug having one blade
wider than the other). This plug wiLLfit into the power
outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are
unable to insert the plug fuLLyinto the outlet, try
reversing the plug, If the plug should stiLLfall to fit,

Use your stereo to play the sound
from your Entertainment Machine
Beforeyou begin plugging in yourstereosystem,it's a
good idea to put it in its approximate place first. That
way you know how much wire you have or wit[ need.
Locate the jacks marked R- L VARIABLE

USING THE TELEVISION AS THE TUNER presewesat[ your channellabels (not available on somemodeLs).It aLso
reducesthe numberof keysonthe remotecontrolyou needto worndabout. (Onedevice,oneremoteto learn.)
USING THE VCR AS THE TUNER hasthe advantage of simplifying the recording process.If the VCRistuned to chan-
net seven,then the VCRwill recordchannelseven.
USING THE CABLE BOX (if you haveone) to changethe stations sometimes hasan advantage, too, especiaLLyif your
cable providerrequires you to use their cableboxto descrambletheir stations.

The source key (13//VCRSource)on the remote, switches between Videoinput and Antenna/Cableinput. The
Channel/Timedisplaywill read "Video"in placeof a channetnumberif A/V inputs areselectedas the picturesource.
Antenna/CableInput: Thissetting allowsyou to changecable or antenna channeLsand to view videocassettes on chan-
nel 3 (or 4) in mono sound.
Video Input: Thissetting allows stereo playback of videocassettes.Thetelevisioncannot changechanneLsin theVideo
mode,but the VCRcan.
Toview the current input source, pressENTER.onyour remote.TheChannel/Time displayshould appearin the upperfight-hand
comerof the screen. If the display reads "Video,"then the pictureand soundsource is connectedto oneset of the Audio/Video
inputjacks. If the disploy reads a channel number,then the pictureand sound sourceis theAntenno/Cablejack.
