XLRplugs.Thesearewiredwithpin2hot,pin3coldand
pin1ground
03-Therearetwowaysofconnectingyourspeakers:
Lockingspeakerconnectorsorbindingposts.
Theconnectorsarewiredinparallel.(e.g.Channel1
bindingpostandlockingspeakerconnectorsarein
parallelandthesameforchannel2).
Whentheamplierisusedinbridgedmonomodeuse
theoutputbridgelockingspeakerconnectororthetwo
redbindingposts.
04-Lockingpowersocket-Thisiswhereyouconnectthe
detachablelockingpowercable.Connecttheotherend
toa220-240V,50/60HzACoutlet.
05-Ampmode-Thisswitchdeterminestheinputsignal
routingwithintheamplier.Formostapplicationsstereo
willbeused.
Stereomode-Thisisthe"normal"wayofusingthe
amplier,inwhicheachchannelisfullyindependent.
Separatesignalsconnectattheinputs,thegainknobs
controltheirrespectivechannels,andseparatespeakers
connecttoeachoutput.
Examples:
•Two-channel(stereo)playback.
•Twoindependentmonosignals,suchasmainand
monitormixes.
•Bi-ampedoperation,withthelowfrequenciesin
Channel1andthehighsinChannel2.
Parallelmode-ThismodeisjustlikeStereomode,
exceptthattheinputsforChannel1andChannel2are
internallyconnectedtogether.Asignalintoanyinput
jackwillthereforedrivebothchannelsdirectly.Each
channel'sgaincontrolstillfunctionsasusual,andeach
channelfeedsitsownspeakerload.Youcanpatchthe
inputsignalontoadditionalampliersbyusinganyof
theremaininginputjacks.
Example:
•Onemonosignaldrivingbothchannels,with
independentgaincontrolforeachspeakersystem.
Bridgemode-Thismodecombinesthefullpower
capabilitiesofbothchannelsintoasinglespeaker
system.Theamplierinternallyre-conguressothat
bothchannelsoperateasaunit.Thisdeliversdoublethe
outputvoltage,resultinginfourtimesthepeakpower
andthreetimesthesustainedpowerintoasingle8-or
4-ohmspeakerload.Connectionsforbridgemonomode
aredifferenttothoseusedinStereoorParallelmode.
Examples:
•Drivingasingle8-ohmspeakerwiththecombined
4-ohmpowerofbothchannels.
•Drivingasingle4-ohmspeakerwiththecombined
2-ohmpowerofbothchannels.
Precautions:BridgeMonomodemakesitpossible
todrivethousandsofwattsintoasinglespeaker.
ACcurrentconsumptionwillusuallybehigher.Avoid
excessivesignallevel,andmakesurethewiringand
speakercanhandlethepower.
06-TheGainsetstheinputsensitivityoftheamplier
dependantonthesignalbeingsentfromthepre-ampor
mixeretc.
07-Thelowcutlterrollsoffsignalsbeloweither30Hzor
50Hz.Thisimprovesbassperformancebylimitingsub-
audioconemovement.Asarule,fullrangespeakers
willsoundbetterwiththelteringactivated.The50Hz
lterworkswellwithmostcompactfull-rangespeakers,
andhasaslightboostat100Hzforgreaterfullness.
The30Hzlterisintendedforsubwoofersandlarge
full-rangecabinets.The"off"positionshouldbeused
onlyforapplicationssuchasstudioplaybackmonitoring,
whereyouneedtoknowifthereareunwantedsub-audio
signalspresentinyourmix.
08-Circuitbreaker-Iftheamplierisoverdrivenora
seriousproblemoccurstheresettablecircuitbreaker
maybeactivated.Pushtoresetthecircuitbreaker
whennecessarytorestorepowertotheamplier.Ifthe
breakerwillnotreset,contactyournearestauthorised
repaircentreforassistance.
