1.02, you can choose any MIDI channel (Ch. 1–16) or OMNI.
Precautions Concerning the Use of a Connected Keyboard
If the VP-7 is unable to successfully receive any performance data from a MIDI keyboard that you’ve connected to it, check
to make sure that the channel that the VP-7 is set to use for MIDI reception is the same channel that your MIDI keyboard is
using for transmission. Or, you could simply set the VP-7 to OMNI.
When the unit left the factory, it was set so that only the data arriving on MIDI channel 1 would be received.
If you want to receive data on some other channel, enter the mode for setting the MIDI reception channel and specify the desired channel.
If you want to receive data on a multiple number of channels, set the MIDI reception channel to OMNI.
* The MIDI indicator will always light upon reception of any MIDI data, regardless of the channel upon which the data is received.
