OPERATING THE MACHINE:
To start, switch on the unit by operating the mains
switch (1) (fig. 1). The pilot lamp marked „ready
for operation“ (5), as well as the red stop-button
„S“ (3) (fig. 2) will light to indicate that the machine
is ready for operation.
Press the pushbutton switch „forward“ (2) (fig.
2). The cutting system and the auxiliary cutters
are activated.
Due to danger of injury when later
handling the packaging pads,
existing metal clips and staples must
be removed by means of a suitable
staple remover before cutting into
packaging pads!
CUTTING CORRUGATED STRIPS
INTO PACKAGING PADS:
- Feed the pre-cut strips to the special cutting
system for the production of packaging pads
through the inlet guide (fig. 5).
- The board is cut into a packaging pad of up
to approx. 425 mm in width depending on the
working width of the cutting system. Overlong
strips are automatically cut off. The tape measure
(11) attached to the inlet guide serves as a guide
for the required width of the packaging pads
(fig. 4).
- Remove the finished packaging pads after
processing is complete (fig. 6).
- To switch the machine off press the red stop-
button (3) (fig. 2).
Never feed the shredder with a quantity
of paper exceeding the maximum indi
-
cated in the technical details.
Should the machine be overfed, follow
the instructions under „AUTOMATIC
RESPONSE IN CASE OF OVERLOA
-
DING“.
OPERATING FUNCTIONS (Figs. 1, 2 and 3):
1 = Mains switch (Emergency-stop) (fig. 1)
This switch turns the machine either on
(position „1“) or off (position „0“).
2 = „Cutting system forward“
pushbutton (fig. 2)
Pressing this button starts the cutting system.
Materials can now be fed to the machine.
3 = „Cutting system stop“
pushbutton (fig. 2)
Pressing this button switches the machine
off, thereby halting the cutting system.
4 = „Cutting system reverse“
pushbutton (fig. 2)
Pressing this button starts the cutting system
in reverse.
5 = Pilot lamp (fig. 2)
a) „ready“
Continously lights when the mains switch
(1) is operated.
b) „motor protection“
Flashes when the motor is overloaded.
While the motor is cooling down, the ma
-
chine cannot be switched on to „forward“
run.
6 = Pilot lamp „materials jam“ (fig. 2)
Lights when too much material is fed to
the cutters (see description „AUTOMATIC
RESPONSE IN CASE OF OVER-LOA
-
DING“).
7 = Vario-Speed Plus Key (fig. 2)
The machine’s cutting speed can be incre
-
ased in an infinitely adjustable fashion by
activating the plus key.
8 = Vario-Speed Minus Key (fig. 2)
The machine’s cutting speed can be reduced
in an infinitely adjustable fashion to allow for
increased cutting capacity by activating the
minus key.
9 = Vario-Speed Display (fig. 2)
Displays the manually selected, current
speed when the cutting system is running.
If the machine is to be operated
without a directly connected vacuum
cleaner (see under “SPECIAL
ACCESSORIES”), the user must wear
a dust mask!
When starting up without a vacuum
cleaner, the dust produced in the
machine when processing the cartons is
led out through a separate opening (10)
(fig. 3) on the rear wall of the housing to
the outside into the working environment
of the operator.
AUTOMATIC RESPONSE
IN CASE OF „OVERLOADING“:
In case you accidentally overload the machine,
it will automatically alleviate the problem as
follows:
1. The cutting system becomes jammed. The pilot
lamp (6) (fig. 2) lights up.
2. The cutting system runs briefly in reverse,
thereby freeing the material to be shredded.
3. The cutting system automatically switches back
to forward mode.
This sequence is automatically repeated by the
machine until all of the material has been proc-
essed into packaging pads.
AUTOMATIC VARIO-SPEED FUNCTION:
The Vario-Speed optimizes the machine power in
the different working conditions:
- Vario Speed automatically increases the feed rate
by up to 50% for single-ply corrugated boards
with minimal wall thickness.
- More power is required at the cutting system
for multi-ply corrugated boards, and the vari
-
able speed system reduces the working speed
automatically in favour of increased power.
MANUAL VARIO-SPEED FUNCTION:
In addition to the automatic variable speed function,
the operator can also manually select any desired,
infinitely adjustable working speed:
- Press the vario-speed plus key (7) (fig. 2), in
order to increase working speed.
- Press the vario-speed minus key (8) (fig. 2), in
order to decrease working speed, and to allow
for increased cutting capacity.
Current cutting speed is indicated at the vario-
speed display (9) (fig. 2).
