This dehumidifier must be properly installed and grounded as described in
this manual.

Read this manual carefully. Htcontains instructions to help you use, maintain and
enjoy your dehumidifier.
Grounding
This dehumidifier must be grounded.
Grounding reducesthe riskof electric
shock byproviding an escape wirefor
the electric current.
The power cord has a grounding wire
with a grounding plug. Plug it into an
outlet that is properly installed and
grounded.
WARNING-Improper use of the
grounding plug can resultin a riskof
eJedric shock. Call a qualified
electrician if you don't understand the
grounding instructions or if you are
not sure if the dehumidifier isproperly
grounded, if the wall outlet is not
grounded, please contact an
electrician to have it replaced with a
properly grounded outlet.
Do not, under any circumstances, cut
or remove the third (ground) prong
from the power cord.
Adapter Plug
Becausemost2oprong outlets are not
grounded, we strongly advise against
using an adapter plug.
However,a temporap/connection may
be made where local codes permit
and if the 2oprong waJJoutlet is
properly grounde& Make surethe
larger prong of the adapter goes into
the large slotto provide proper polarity.
FOR PROPER GROIJNDJNG
], Ground the adapter to the outlet
by using the outlet cover screw to
secure the ground terminal to the
outlet box.

When starting the dehumidifier, turn knob to the
right until unit turns on. Adjust knob to desired
levd of dryness turn the control knob clockwise
for more drying. Hnthe EXTRADRYposition, the
unitwill run longer and extract more moisture from
the ain
Auto Frost Sensor
(Built in)
When temperaturegets down to 60°F or lower,
ice mayform on theevaporator coilspreventing
removal of moisture The FROSTCONTROL
stops the compressor when this happens but
allows the fan to continue running. When the
ice isno longer presentit startsthe compresson

turns the unit off. Turn the humidity control off

plunger located on the top of the

2_ Using a hose for
water removal
Water can be automatically emptied
into a drain bya_Cachinga length of
thin-wall hose to the threaded nozzle
on side of the drain bucket.
Proper use and care
° Placethe dehumidifier in a location
that does not restrictair flow into the rear
coil or out the front griJJe.
oThe dehumidifier must be operated
in an enclosed area to be most effective.
CloseaJJdoors, windowsand other outside
openings to the room.
. A dehumidifier operating in a
basement wiJJhave little or no effect in
dryingan adjacent enclosed storagearea,
such asa closet, unlessthere is adequate
circulation of air in and out of the area.
° Turnthe dehumidifier off and remove
the plug from the well outlet before
deaning_ Usewater and a mild detergent
to dean the inlet and outlet grilles Do
not use bleach or abrasives_
° The air filter is on the back of the
dehumidifien It should be checked and
cleaned at least every 2 to 3 weeks or
more often if necessary.
Toremovefilter: liJrn the dehumidifier off
and lift out the filter on the back of the
uniL Vacuum the filter or wash with water.
Make sure it is dry before replacing it.

Items to check before calling for
service:
Unit net @perating
Make sure the plug is pushed
completely into the outlet.
° The fuse isblown or circuit was
tripped. Check the house fuse/circuit
breaken Replacefuse or reset circuit
breaker.
° The bucket isfull. The dehumidifier
automatically turns off when this
occurs. The drain bucket needsto be
emptied.
Dehumidifier is icing up during
initial stage of @perati@n
o This is normal. Frostwill usually
disappear within 60 minutes unless
temperature is below 60%. This is
normal for the dehumidifier.
Airfj@w is restricted
Make sure there are no curtains,
blinds or furniture blocking the front
or back of the dehumidifien
o Clean the fiJten
Additional note: After prdonged
usage,the condensercoils behind the
filter may develop o buildup of
residual. Unlesscleaned regularlywith
a soft brush, this residual will harden
through time and may require special
cleaning methods bya
refrigeration/air-conditioning
serviceman.

When first installed, allow at least 3
or 4 daysto removethe moisturefrom
the room to maintain the desired
dryness.
Area to be humidified is too large.
Check with dealer that model is
suitable for room sizeand moisture

o The controls may not be set
correctly Adjust controls according
to instructions.
o Doors and windows may not be
closed.Check that all doors, windows
and other openings are closed tightly
and bat open.
o Clothes dryer may be in operation
in the same room. Install the
dehumidifier away from the moisture-
ladenair generated bythe dryen Dryer
should be vented to the outside.
Room temperaiure too Jaw. The
unit will not operate satisfactorily if the
room temperature is bdow 60%.
