TMC
Receiver Guide
This
guide
explains
how
to
install and use
the
TomTom
RDS-TMC
Traffic Receiver.
The RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver
provides
the
latest traffic
reports
to
help
you
improve
travel
planning
and
reduce
journey
times.
You can
either
receive traffic
information
from
TomTom
Traffic
using
a
wireless
data
connection
or
RDS-TMC
information
using
the
RDS-
TMC Traffic Receiver.
You
cannot
use
both
services at once.
Note:
If
radio reception is poor,
for
example
when
you are
driving
through
a
mountain
valley, RDS-TMC
reception
will
also
be
affected.

In
Important:
When
you
install
your
navigation
device in
your
car,
don't
block
the
driver's
view
of
the
road.
1.
Connect
the
RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver
to
your
navigation
device.
2.
Connect
the Car Charger
to
the
RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver
and
then
plug
the
Car Charger
into
your
car's cigarette
lighter
socket.
Note:
The
RDS-TMC
receiver
does
not
work
if
the Car Charger
is
not
connected.
3.
Place
the
transparent
suction
cup
at
the
tip
of
the
antenna
firmly
against the
upper
left
of
your
car
windscreen.

4. Then place the
remaining
suction
cups
along
the
edge
of
the
windscreen,
as
shown,
and keep
the
cable straight.
5.
Switch
on
your
navigation
device.
The Traffic bar is
shown
in
the
Driving
View
and
your
navigation
device
searches
for
a radio station
that
carries RDS-TMC
information.

a
country
border,
your
TomTom
navigation
device
may
tune
to
a radio station
from
the
neigbouring
country.
If
this
happens,
you
will
receive
RDS-TMC
information
for
that
country.
You can set the
required
country
as
follows:
1.
Tap
the
Traffic bar in
the
Driving
View.
2. Tap
Change
Traffic
preferences
and
tap
Done.
3. Select
the
country
where
you
want
traffic
reports
and
tap
Done.
Your
navigation
device
searches
for
a
radio
station in
the
selected
country.
Settmg

You can
manually
tune
your
device
to
a
radio
station
by
entering
the
radio
frequency.
To activate
this
feature,
you
must
first
enable manual
tuning.
To
do
this,
tap
the
Traffic
bar
in
the
Driving
View,
then
tap
Change
Traffic
preferences. Select
Tune
manually
by
entering
a
frequency
and
then
tap
Done.
To
manually
tune
your
navigation
device
to
a radio station,
do
the
following:

Tap
the
Traffic bar in
the
Driving
View.
2.

Tune
manually.
3.
Enter
the
frequency
of
the
radio station.
4.

searches
for
the
radio station.
If
your
device
does
not
find
a radio station
that
carries RDS-TMC
information,
at
the
frequency
you
entered,
it
searches
for
the
next
available station.

This Subscriber Agreement applies to your use
of
the Total Traffic Network traffic data. You agree that this Subscriber Agreement is enforceable
like any written negotiated agreement signed by you.
Please read this Subscriber Agreement carefully. By using the TomTom TMC Traffic Receiver you accept all
the terms and conditions
of
this
Subscriber Agreement.
If you do not agree to the terms
of
this Subscriber Agreement, you are not entitled to use the Product and you must return it.
If
the below conditions are breached, you are no longer entitled to use the Traffic Data, supplied by the TomTom TMC Traffic Receiver.
A.
"Total Traffic Network, a division
of
Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc., holds the rights to the traffic incident data and RDS-TMC
network through which it is delivered. You may not modify, copy, scan
or
use any othermethod to reproduce, duplicate, republish, transmit
or
distribute
in
any way any portion
of
traffic incident data. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc.
(and its affiliates) against any and all claims, damages, costs
or
otherexpenses that arise directly or indirectly out
of
(a) your unauthori7..ed use
of
the traffic incident data or the RDS-TMC network, (b) your violation
of
this di.rective and/or (c) any unauthorized
or
unlawful activities by you in
connection herewith."
