III. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The default password (PIN) for the SE847 Secure is 112233. It is strongly recommended
that you change this PIN immediately upon first use [see “V. How to Change the
Password (PIN)”].
After ten consecutive, unsuccessful attempts to unlock the device, all stored data will be
erased and the PIN will be reset to 112233, effectively returning the device to a factory
new state. It is critical that you remember your PIN if lost or forgotten, there is no
way to retrieve your data.
Encryption is done automatically and in real time when storing files to the device. When
the drive is unplugged from a system, it automatically locks itself and the PIN is required
to access again.
The SE847 Secure supports Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems.
A rechargeable battery allows the keypad of the SE847 Secure to operate without
another power source. The battery charges while plugged into a computer’s USB port
while the computer is on. In the event that the battery is discharged, you may still
