When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be always
followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS before attempting to operate your appliance.
2. This product is designed for household use only. Do not use appliance for other than its
intended purpose.
3. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs only.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
6. Keep appliance at least 4 inches away from walls or other objects during operation. Do not
place any objects on top of appliance while it is operating. Place the appliance on a surface that
is resistant to heat.
7. Do not use outdoors.
8. Unplug unit from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow unit to cool before putting
on or taking o parts, and before cleaning.
9. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water
or other liquids.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions,
or has been damaged in any manner.
NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE UNIT YOURSELF. THIS WILL VOID

WARNING:
This appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use. Proper precautions must
be taken to prevent the risk of burns, res, or other injury to persons or damage to property.
1. All users of this appliance must read and understand this Instruction Book before operating
or cleaning this appliance.
2. The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a grounded 3-prong electrical outlet only.
3. Use water only in this appliance! Do not put any other liquids or food products in this appliance.
Do not mix or add anything to the water placed in this appliance, except as instructed in the
Descaling Instructions on page 13 - section 8 to clean the appliance.
4. DO NOT attempt to move an appliance containing hot liquids. Allow appliance to cool completely
before moving.
5. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair
the malfunctioning appliance.
6. If this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water or any other liquid, unplug it
immediately. Do not reach into the water! Do not use this appliance after it has fallen into
or has become immersed in water.
7. Always use fresh, cool water in your appliance. Warm water or other liquids, except as listed in
cleaning section, may cause damage to the appliance.
8. CAUTION: Residue and build-up that forms on the appliance may be hazardous to your health.
Clean your beverage system carefully and regularly following the instructions outlined in this
Instruction Book.
The appliance is designed to brew espresso, coee, tea, hot chocolate and dispense hot water. It is intended
for household use only and must be used in accordance with these instructions. Use compatible brewing
capsules only. Use of any other brewing capsule is considered improper. Use of the appliance in any manner
other than as directed herein could cause harm to persons and void the warranty. The manufacturer will not
be responsible for injury or damage resulting from improper use of the appliance.

Description
Press the ON/OFF button to the ON position. All 6 beverage
buttons and the red indicator light will begin to ash.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the capsule lever is
lowered to its original position.

Before First Use: Prime the Pump
Place a cup or mug onto the drip tray.
Fill the water tank. There are 3 ways:
• remove the water tank cover
• ip the water tank lid open to use a spouted container
• pull the water tank up and out of the unit using the side
grips to remove.
Fill water tank with cool, clean water (it is STRONGLY
recommended you use DISTILLED WATER) to the MAX water
ll line. Make sure water tank is closed and locked properly
into position before proceeding.
Unpack the beverage system and
remove all packaging materials.
Plug the power-supply cord into a
grounded 3-prong electrical outlet.
Prime the Pump. Press any beverage
button. After a moment, the pump will
operate. The priming process will take
about 2 minutes.

The unit will beep twice to indicate the pump is
primed. When all 6 beverage buttons are illuminated
(and not ashing) and the red indicator light is o; the
beverage system is heated and ready for use.
IMPORTANT: If the red indicator light
continues to ash, repeat the priming
procedure. It may take several times to
properly prime the pump.
Empty the cup or mug. Slide out the used capsule drawer
and empty any priming water. Replace the drawer. Place the
empty cup or mug onto the drip plate. When all lights stop
ashing, the beverage system is heated and ready to brew.

Make sure the water tank is lled, but
does not exceed the MAX water ll line.
Make sure the power-supply cord is
plugged into a grounded 3-prong
electrical outlet and the power ON/OFF
button is in the ON position.
Check to make sure the capsule drawer is empty.
Raise and lower the capsule lever to eject any used
capsule into the drawer. Pull the used capsule
drawer out, remove capsule (if any) and slide
drawer back into place. Test to make sure drip tray
is properly and securely turned/locked in position at
the appropriate level. Add the drip plate and place
an empty cup or mug under the dispensing spout.
CAUTION: Capsule may be hot.
Use care when handling.
All buttons will ash as the unit begins to heat.
When all 6 beverage buttons and the red indicator
light are illuminated (and not ashing); the
beverage system is heated and ready to brew.

Each coee and tea capsule features an internal double ltration system to ensure evenly balanced extraction and optimal avor.
Every serving of espresso, coee and tea is freshness-sealed to lock in its exquisite taste and aroma.

Raise the capsule lever to access the top of the capsule
compartment. Gently load the selected capsule into
the capsule cut-out.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove or puncture
foil covering.
Lower the capsule lever to its original position. This will
puncture the capsule for brewing.

In approximately 3 seconds, a hot, steaming
beverage will ow through the dispensing spout
into the cup or mug on the drip plate.
CAUTION: This beverage system
dispenses extremely hot water.
To avoid burns or personal
injury, NEVER raise the capsule
lever while brewing. NEVER
remove water tank or used
capsule drawer while brewing.
NEVER place your ngers under
the beverage dispensing spout
while brewing.

Carefully remove the freshly brewed beverage.
Raise and lower the capsule lever to eject the used capsule into
the drawer. Pull the used capsule drawer out, remove used capsule
and slide drawer back into position. Make sure the drip plate rests
properly on the drip tray at the base of the capsule drawer.
CAUTION: Capsule may be hot.
Use care when handling and
disposing.
IMPORTANT:
Traces of the just-dispensed beverage may
remain inside the machine. To ensure rich, clear
avors, when switching from one beverage to
another, we suggest rinsing the beverage system
by brewing 1 (12-oz.) cup of plain water (do not
insert a capsule) between beverages.

If, at any time during brewing, the red indicator light begins
to ash and the 3 audible beeps are heard, the water tank
is empty.

Press any brewing button; the appliance will
resume dispensing.

As a safety precaution, if the capsule
lever is raised at any time during brewing
or dispensing, the red indicator light will
begin to ash and an audible intermittent
beep can be heard. The beverage system
will immediately stop dispensing.
Lower the lever to its original position.
Fill the water tank with fresh, still water.
To reset the alarm and resume brewing,
press any brewing button.

Power Energy Savings: Sleep Mode

After 4 hours of inactivity, the beverage
system will advance to sleep mode
Press the ON/OFF button to the OFF (O)
position. Unplug the beverage system
and allow to fully cool before cleaning.
Turn the drip tray clockwise to remove. Lift
the drip plate o the tray and rinse with
fresh water. Empty and rinse the drip tray.
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. Any servicing requiring
disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualied appliance repair technician.
CAUTION: To protect against electric shock, never immerse the beverage system
base, cord or plug in water or other liquid.
To begin brewing, press any brewing button; the
system will begin to preheat the water for brewing.
See “Brewing Beverages” section of this Instruction
Book for a detailed description.
Make sure the lever is lowered to its o
riginal position.
Lift and lower the capsule lever to release any
used capsules that may remain in the machine.
Slide out the used capsule drawer; remove any
used capsule(s). Rinse well and then replace
the empty drawer.

Replace the drip tray. Insert the drip tray into the appropriate
slot on the front of the used capsule drawer. Rotate the drip
tray counter-clockwise until it is securely in position. Replace
the grill plate.

IMPORTANT: The beverage brewing
system drip tray, used capsule
drawer and water tank are not
dishwasher safe.
To remove stains, use a soft, dampened sponge
or cloth and a non-abrasive, gentle dish soap to
handwash and to clean the outer surfaces of the
beverage system. Rinse well.
Remove and empty the water tank. Set water tank
aside.
IMPORTANT! Make sure water tank
is NOT attached while draining the
system.
Make sure the ON/OFF button is in
the OFF (O) position.
IMPORTANT! To ensure the nest brewed taste and beverage system eciency, a monthly routine of descaling
is recommended. Simply brew 1 (12-oz.) cup of plain water (do not insert a capsule) through the system.

Press the top 3 buttons while pressing the
power ON/OFF button to the ON position.
The unit will perform a drainage cycle.
Unplug the beverage system.
After the beverage system is fully drained,
press the ON/OFF button to the OFF (O) position.
Problem Cause / Solution
I’ve primed the pump. Priming water has been
dispensed. The red indicator light continues to ash.
It may take several times to properly prime the pump.
Repeat the priming procedure. The unit will beep
twice to indicate the pump is primed. When all 6
beverage buttons are illuminated (and not ashing)
and the red indicator light is o; the beverage system
is heated and ready for use.
The brewed beverage is not hot enough. Cold cup or mug.
Scale build-up in the beverage system.
Preheat the cup or mug.
Descale the beverage system monthly.
The lever cannot be lowered. The used capsule drawer is full.
There is a capsule lodged in the capsule compartment.
Slide out the used capsule drawer; dislodge and
remove the used capsule. Replace drawer.
The beverage system will not brew. Used capsule in drawer.
Slide out the used capsule drawer; dislodge and
remove the used capsule. Replace drawer.
Beyond the recommended cleaning and maintenance procedures, the CBTL® machine is not user serviceable.

Limited One Year Warranty
SENSIO Inc. hereby warrants that for a period of one year from the date of purchase, this product will be free from
mechanical defects in material and workmanship, and for 90 days in respect to non-mechanical parts. At its sole
discretion, SENSIO Inc. will either repair or replace the product found to be defective, or issue a refund on the product
during the warranty period. Any refund to the customer will be at a pro-rated value based on the remaining period of
the warranty. The warranty is only valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is
not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty validation. Retail
stores selling this product do not have the right to alter, modify, or in any way revise the terms and conditions of the
warranty.
EXCLUSIONS: The warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following:
negligent use of the product, use of improper voltage or current, improper routine maintenance, use contrary to the
operating instructions, disassembly, repair, or alteration by anyone other than qualied SENSIO Inc. personnel. Also,
the warranty does not cover Acts of God such as re, oods, hurricanes, or tornadoes or use for rental or commercial
services.
SENSIO Inc. shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express or
implied warranty. Apart from the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty of merchantability or
tness for a particular purpose is limited in time to the duration of the warranty. Some states, provinces or jurisdictions
do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied
warranty lasts, and therefore, the above exclusions or limitations may not apply to you. The warranty covers specic
legal rights which may vary by state, province and/or jurisdiction.
HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE: You must contact Customer Service at our toll-free number:
1-866-814-8150. A Customer Service Representative will attempt to resolve warranty issues over the phone.
If the Customer Service Representative is unable to resolve the problem, you will be provided with a case number
and asked to return the product to SENSIO Inc. Attach a tag to the product that includes: your name, address,
daytime contact telephone number, case number, and description of the problem. Also, include a copy of the original
sales receipt. Carefully package the tagged product with the sales receipt, and send it (with shipping and insurance
prepaid) to SENSIO Inc.s address below. SENSIO Inc. shall bear no responsibility or liability for the returned product
while in transit to SENSIO Inc.s Customer Service Center. Neither the retailer nor any other company involved in the
sale or promotion of this product is a co-warrantor of this manufacturer's warranty.
