Important warnings
This appliance should be installed by a qualified professional according
to current standards.
Important: keep these instructions for use with the appliance. If the
appliance should be sold or passed on to others, make sure that the
instructions are passed on with it. We thank you for taking note of these
suggestions before installing and using the appliance. They have been
written for your personal safety and the safety of others.
- Note: The bottom of any item fixed above the hood must be at least 400 mm
(15.8 in.) above the open hood.
-
Attention: When moving the hood, never place hands inside the operating
radius of the pull-out carriage.
- The air collected must not be conveyed into a duct used to blow off smokes
from appliances fed with an energy other than electricity (central heating
systems, thermosiphons, water-heaters, etc.).
- Air ventilation should be performed according to current local requirements.
Do not connect the appliance to an exhaust duct for a boiler, fireplace, etc.,
or to an automatic room ventilation system. The exhaust duct must not under
any circumstances be routed in such a way that it empties into an attic.
- Allow adequate space between the hood and other appliances in the room
powered by an energy source other than electricity so that the hood does not
intake their exhaust gases. As it evacuates the air, the hood may create
negative pressure in the room. To avoid negative pressure exceeding 4 Pa,
proper ventilation should be provided in the room to ensure a constant flow of
fresh air when using the hood in evacuation mode at the same time as a
heating system.
- During operation in evacuation mode, an opening for air entry approximating
the size of the evacuation opening is sufficient to avoid creating negative
pressure in the room, which could interfere with the proper functioning of gas,
oil or carbon-powered appliances.
The instructions above do not apply to hood operation in recycling mode,
which does not present any known dangers.
- The appliance must be unplugged during installation and before performing
maintenance.
Installation of this appliance should be performed by a qualified technician.
26

power to this appliance, consult a qualified electrician.
When disposing of an old appliance, deactivate any potential dangers: cut
the power cable off close to the appliance.
Do not modify or attempt to modify any feature of this appliance, as this is
very hazardous.
- ATTENTION: This appliance must be grounded.
- Verify that the voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the
manufacturer’s plate located inside the hood(see technical features). If the
appliance is connected directly to the house wiring insert an all-pole switch at
least 3 mm (.12 in) from the electrical outlet. If your unit features a power lead
and plug, position this so the plug is accessible.
- Always unplug the hood before cleaning and/or maintenance, or for any hood
repair.
- Avoid creating an open flame near the appliance.
- Never flambé food preparations under the hood. The flames taken into the
hood may damage the filters and start a fire. Never leave food frying under
the hood unattended. Oil and grease heated to very high temperatures may
catch fire. Reused oil poses an increased risk. It should be remembered that
overheating can cause a fire. Never leave the cooking areas of a gas cooktop,
an oil range or coal-fired range on without cookware in place. This poses a
risk of filter damage and fire.
- The hood should be cleaned inside and out regularly. Comply with the
recommendations for frequency of hood cleaning and filter replacement in
accordance with the instructions in this user manual. Failure to follow these
instructions may lead to fire risk due to accumulation of grease in the filter.
- This device is not intended to be used by children, or by persons whose
physical or mental capacity, or lack of experience and knowledge prevents
them from using the appliance safely without supervision. Such persons should
use this appliance under the direction of a responsible individual who can

Controls (Fig.21)
This serves to close the extraction panel either completely or in
intermediate positions above 180 mm from the cook top. When
the extraction panel is being closed, it will remain in operation
until it reaches 180 mm above the cook top. Below this height,
the extraction function will switch off automatically.
This serves to bring the extraction panel up to a maximum height
of 300 mm and to automatically set the first extraction speed
when the panel reaches a height of 180 mm. Pressing the button
when this height is reached makes it possible to place the
extraction panel in the required intermediate positions, up to a
maximum of 300 mm, while leaving the extraction speed of the
motor unchanged.
These serve to set the respective suction speeds after the
extraction panel has reached 180 mm above the cook top and to
set the height of the extraction panel to a maximum of 300 mm
by pressing the same button.
This is used to switch off the extraction system automatically as
well as to close the extraction panel 10 minutes after it has been
enabled.
