Operation
Connect machine to suitable power source. If extension cord
is to be used only waterproof is acceptable.
The DC 1800 is equipped with a filter indication lamp alerting
you when the filter requires cleaning or changing. Generally
the filter should be cleaned once to twice daily. DC Canada
recommends cleaning it before the machine is shut down.
Machine must be running to preform filter cleaning. To
preform filter cleaning first loosen end cuff off tool. Block the
end cuff by pressing it onto the cylindrical protrusion on the
outlet channel. Push the side flap open and release it quickly
to pulse the filter. Repeat this 3-6 times. Below is a pictorial
showing the correct procedure.

bag. The plastic bag of the DC 1800 should be changed only
after filter cleaning. Changing the bag is as simple and only
involves un-latching the three container latches, removing
and replacing the bag then re-latching the container on.
When installing a bag with the assembly make sure it seats
around the container edge. This ensures a proper seal and
that the bag will not be sucked into the cyclone body.
Service
During cleaning disconnect unit from power. The fine filter
should be changed at least once per year. HEPA filter is
recommended to be changed every 300 running hours. Use
proper protection to ensure ones self as well as surrounding
persons are shielded from Dust during filter change. Check
the power cord regularly for damage.
Filter change (pictorial of steps below)
Remove motor head and locate the top side of the filter. Lift
the filter out of the housing. Place in new filter with the
same orientation as the old one. If dustless changes are
required place a plastic bag over the top of the machine
11
before removing the filter.
Check gasket during filter change
to ensure good seal is made, if a poor seal is present dust will
travel downstream and cause damage to the motor.
