When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions must always be observed,
including the following:
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
These instructions are to ensure you use this electric product
safely and prevent you and other users from the risk of damage or
hazard. Please read and follow carefully all indicated “Warnings”
and instructions.
“Warnings”: Failure to follow these warnings may result in death
or severe injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS, Pass them on to any subsequent user.
This symbol indicates the content you need to
“pay attention.”
This symbol indicates the content you are “prohibited”
to do.
Warnings:
In case of an emergency remove plug from power socket
immediately.
Do not place hands underneath the hot water jet or coffee outlet,
nor inside the mixing chamber (when accessible, coffee box
removed for instance) during the preparation of the beverage
(danger of burning). Never leave the appliance while making a
beverage.
Ensure electrical plugs are clean and free of dust, connected to
socket securely, otherwise it can cause an electric shock, short
circuit or fire.
Never touch cable or plug with wet hands. Do not unplug by
pulling the cable. In case of damage, do not use the appliance.
Never disassemble, repair, or modify the appliance. In order to
avoid danger, arrange machine servicing via our support desk
only .
Do not damage, destroy, remodel, bend, pull or twist the plug
forcibly. Do not use any damaged power supply cable or plug or
loosely connected socket. The plug could become damaged by
placing heavy objects on it, taking it apart or modifying it. All
these can cause fire or electric shock.
Always place a cup underneath the outlets before preparing
coffee or rinsing the machine.
Be aware the heater inside the machine will hold residual heat
after use.
Keep the cleaning tool safe and out of reach of children. Risk of
injury: the cleaning tool is a sharp object.
Advised usage:
Mains voltage used must be the same as the details on the base
of the machine (also see voltage on page 4). Insert the plug
in a socket which is correctly wired. When using an extension
cable, do not put multiple loads on one outlet. It can result in
fire caused by excessive heat. In the event that the plug and
cable get hot, stop using the machine immediately.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper
use of the machine or failure to comply with the instructions
of this manual. Such damages are also not covered by the
warranty.
Keep the appliance and its power cable out of reach of children
aged less than 8 years. Children shall not play with the
appliance.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge on condition
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of the appliance in a safe manner and understand the hazards
involved. This includes supervision for cleaning and user
maintenance.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar
applications such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments;
- Farm houses;
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments;
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
Always use the appliance on a flat, stable, heat resistant
surface away from sources of heat or water splashes. Do not
place cable close to heat, sharp edges, etc. Do not allow cable
to dangle (risk of tripping up).
Do not use the machine near fire or place it on hot surfaces (e.g.
on top of electric hot plate). It can cause a fire.
Do not put a load on the machine. When in use do not squeeze
the machine in between two shelves nor place it in a cabinet.
This could lead to damage.
Never place the machine on a high-walled (more than 2 cm)
tray or container. In the event of water tank leaking, this would
lead to immersing the machine in water, with the risk of electric
shock and serious injury.
Do not use the machine if it is not operating perfectly or if there
is evidence of damage. In such cases refer to instructions on
warranty page.
Unplug the cable when the machine is not in use to avoid the
risk of injury, burn, electric shock, electric leakage or fire caused
by dielectric degradation.
Do not insert any foreign object in the mixing chamber.
Do not put anything (hot water, milk, alcohol, etc) other than drinking
water in the water tank. It can block or clog the inside of the machine
and cause failure. We recommend the usage of soft water.
Do not put too much water in the water tank as it will spill over
the power connection to the machine. The water tank must be
filled whilst detached and away from the machine.
Do not leave water in the water tank when the machine is not
used over a long period of time. If the machine is not used for
more than two days, rinse the tank and change the water. Use
fresh drinking water.
Clean machine periodically according to instructions in chapter
“CLEANING”.
Before cleaning the machine, unplug the machine and let it cool
down. Do not clean the machine while it is still hot. You can
burn yourself.
Do not wash the plug or the cable with water nor immerse them
in liquid, such as cleanser. It can cause a failure.
The appliance must not be immersed in water.
Further instructions:
Only operate the machine when the mixing chamber is properly
inserted and locked, with the drawer correctly in place.
We recommend using NESCAFÉ Eco&System Pack coffee which
is suited and tested for the NESCAFE GOLDBLEND BARISTA.
