The PHS1 head has been equipped with a head temperature sensing facility to allow thermal compensation. Previously, the PC
card was unable to read this information but a new card has been designed to accommodate this facility.
Identifi cation of new card
The PC card level may be identifi ed by looking at the PCB part number (different to the card assembly) on the component free
side of the card (see fi gure 1). THIS NUMBER IS FOR IDENTIFICATION ONLY - DO NOT PLACE ORDERS USING THIS
NUMBER. The optional fi lter module should not be used with the new card (as the fi lter module is already incorporated onto the
card).

Switch settings
Due to the added functionality of the new card, the SYNC EDGE and CONTROLLER SELECT switches have been moved
(see fi gure 2). Switch banks 1, 2 and 3 (card address select) remain unchanged but switch 4 changes as follows. Therefore it is
important that you do not copy the DIP switch settings one to one.
