6.1. Statusindicatoren

2. Proper use
This device is a primary-side switched charging device with
pulse trickle charging. It is suitable for charging and maintaining
the charge of the following rechargeable 6 V or 12 V lead batter-
ies containing an electrolyte solution or gel as well as AGM bat-
teries:
6V: Capacity of 1.2 Ah to 14 Ah;
12V: Capacity of 1.2 Ah to 120 Ah;
It can also regenerate fully discharged 12V batteries (regenera-
tion mode).
The device is not designed for commercial use.
Use the charger only to charge the battery types stated in these
instructions. No other batteries may be charged with the charg-
er. When using other types of batteries there is a risk of injury
and the charger could be damaged.
The charger charges batteries automatically in several stages
and can thus recharge them up to 100% of their capacity.
You can also connect a battery that has not been used for a long
time to the charger in order to recharge it.
The device is intended for private use only and not for industrial/
commercial use.
Please note that we shall not be liable in cases of improper use:
Do not modify the device without our consent and do not use
any auxiliary equipment that we have not approved or sup-
plied.
Use only spare parts and accessories that we have supplied or
approved.
Heed all the information in these operating instructions, es-

3. Safety information
Read the safety instructions carefully before using the device for
the first time. Note the warnings on the device and in the oper-
ating instructions. Always keep the operating instructions close
to hand. If you sell the device or give it away, please ensure that
you also pass on these instructions.
This device may be used by children over the age of 8 and by
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or
by those without experience and/or knowledge, if they are
supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the de-
vice and have understood the dangers that result from it. Chil-
dren must not be allowed to play with the device. Cleaning
and user maintenance may not be carried out by children, un-
less they are aged 8 or over and are supervised.
Keep the device and its accessories out of the reach of chil-
dren.
Children younger than 8 should be kept away from the device
and the mains cable.
Never expose your charger to rain or moisture! Do not use the
device outside!
The device must not come into contact with water drops or
spray.
Connect the charger only to an easily reachable 220–240V ~
50Hz socket.
Do not cover the charger otherwise it may overheat and be-
come damaged.
To avoid the risk of tripping, please avoid using extension ca-
bles.
Use the device only in ambient temperatures of −10°C–35°C.
The device must not be exposed to prolonged direct sunlight.

3.1. Faults
If damage occurs to the mains cable, the charger or the con-
nection cable, pull the mains plug out of the socket immedi-
ately.
Never try to open and/or repair the device yourself. Contact
our Service Centre or a specialist workshop.
To reduce risks, have defective devices or damaged mains ca-
bles repaired immediately by a specialist workshop or contact
your Service Centre.
3.2. Risk of explosion!
Ensure that ventilation is adequate. Carry out the charge and
trickle charge process in a well-ventilated space sheltered
from the weather.
In addition, ensure that there is no open flame (fire, embers or
sparks) when charging or trickle charging! Gaseous hydrogen
may flow out of the battery during charging and trickle charg-
ing. Contact with an open flame can trigger a highly explosive
gas detonation!
Ensure that no explosive or flammable substances, e.g. petrol
or solvents, can be ignited when using the charger!
Connect the lead at a distance from the battery and fuel pipe.
3.3. Protect yourself from electric shock!
Use the charger only for 6 V or 12 V rechargeable lead batter-
ies containing an electrolyte solution or gel, or AGM batteries.
For a built-in battery, ensure that the vehicle is not running
and is at a safe standstill! Switch the ignition off and park
the vehicle, e.g. with the handbrake applied (car) or securely
moored (boat)!
Avoid an electrical short circuit when connecting the charger
to the battery. Always connect the negative terminal connec-
tion cable to the batterys negative terminal. Always connect
the positive terminal connection cable to the battery's posi-

tive terminal!
Before connecting to the mains, ensure that the mains power
source is the required 220–240 V~50 Hz!
When plugging into the socket, touch the mains cable only
on the insulated area on the mains plug!
Only touch the terminal clamps (positive terminal and nega-
tive terminal) in the insulated area!
Unplug the charger from the mains before assembly, mainte-
nance or cleaning work!
Do not expose the charger to fire, heat or long-lasting tem-
perature effects above 45°C! The charger's output power falls
automatically at higher temperatures.
Disconnect the device from the mains before connecting/dis-
connecting the terminals on the battery.
3.4. Protection type
This device offers protection class IP65 in compliance with DIN
EN 60529. This means:
The device is dust-proof and fully protected from contact.
The device is protected against water jets from any angle.
3.5. Handling rechargeable batteries
Do not use the charging and trickle charging process on bat-
teries that cannot be recharged.
Do not use frozen rechargeable batteries!
Do not use damaged or corroded rechargeable batteries.
Never dismantle, open or cut up rechargeable cells or batter-
ies.
Never expose cells or batteries to strong heat or fire. Avoid
storage in direct sunlight.
Never short circuit cells or batteries.
Please note that when charging batteries a highly explosive
gas detonation mixture can occur. There is a risk of explosion
for improper use. Therefore please note:

Fire, sparks, open flames and smoking are prohibited.
When using cables and electrical appliances, make sure that
there are no sparks or electrostatic discharge. Avoid short cir-
cuits.
Caution: Risk of chemical burns! Battery acid can cause strong
chemical burns. Use acid-resistant protective gloves, clothes
and eye protection. Do not turn batteries over as acid can leak
from the gas release openings.
If a cell has become unsealed the liquid must not touch the
skin or eyes.
If you do come into contact with the fluid, rinse the affected
area with plenty of water. Consult a doctor immediately.
Remove the leaking battery fluid with a dry, absorbent cloth
and avoid contact with skin, for example, by using acid-proof
protective gloves.
At all times observe the plus (+) and minus (-) signs on the
cells, batteries and appliances. Ensure proper use.
Store cells and batteries out of the reach of children.
Use the charger only for 6 V or 12 V rechargeable lead batter-
ies with an electrolyte solution or gel, or AGM batteries.
Store the technical documentation on battery charging to-
gether with this manual for future reference.

6. Operation
6.1. Status displays

6.3. Connecting the charger to the battery
ATTENTION!
Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock from live parts.
Before assembly and maintenance work and before
cleaning the device, always unplug it from the mains
power supply!
Always unplug the device before removing or at-
taching the connection clamps to the terminals on
the battery.
NOTE
Before disconnecting a car or motor bike battery, first consult the vehi-
cles instruction manual on the potential consequences of disconnecting
the battery.
If the battery that you wish to charge is connected in the
vehicle, first disconnect the vehicle's negative terminal
connection cable (black) from the battery's negative ter-
minal before the charging or trickle charging process. The
batterys negative terminal is usually connected to the
vehicles bodywork.
Then disconnect the vehicle's positive terminal connec-
tion cable (red) from the battery's positive terminal.
Then attach the charger's positive terminal clamp (red) to
the battery's positive terminal and then the negative terminal clamp (black) to
the battery's negative terminal.
Connect the battery charger's mains cable to a mains socket.
6.4. Select charging mode
Select a charging mode depending on the battery type and ambient temperature.
You can also recharge a completely discharged battery (“regeneration”).
The charger's electronics do not start the charging process directly after connect-
ing the battery but only after a charging mode has been selected. This avoids sparks
that often occur during the connection process.
To select a charging mode, press the MODE button several times. The symbol of
the respective mode will be shown on the display.

The charger recognises the modes suitable for the battery type. Therefore not
every mode can be selected for every battery.
After selecting a mode the charger implements it. If a battery remains attached
to the charger once charging is complete, the charger automatically switches to
trickle charging. The battery is also trickle charged if another mode is selected.
6.4.1. Mode 1 (6 V to max. 14 Ah batteries)
Set this mode to charge 6 V lead acid batteries with a capacity under 14 Ah.
The charger will normally recognise the modes suitable for the battery type. If the
battery is not recognised, proceed as follows:

You can identify the battery type from the type plate on your battery.
Press the MODE button several times to select Mode 1.

120 Ah)
Set this mode to charge batteries with a capacity over 1.2 Ah and normal ambient
temperatures.
The charger will normally recognise the modes suitable for the battery type. If the
battery is not recognised, proceed as follows:

120 Ah, in cold temperatures)
Set this mode to charge batteries with a capacity over 1.2 Ah and lower ambient
temperatures. Set this mode also to charge AGM batteries (absorbent glass mat:
batteries in which the electrolyte is held in glass fibre mats) with a capacity of more
than 1.2Ah.
The charger will normally recognise the modes suitable for the battery type. If the
battery is not recognised, proceed as follows:
NOTE
You can identify the battery type from the type plate on your battery.
Press the MODE button several times to select Mode 4.
Charging mode 4 will be shown.
If you do not then set another mode, the electronics automatically start the charg-
ing process with a charging current of around 4 A.
Once the battery is fully charged, the frame around the battery icon stops flashing

6.5. Regenerating/recharging fully discharged 12 V
batteries (regeneration mode)
Attach the fully discharged battery into the charger and start the charging pro-
cess.
In this regeneration mode the battery is charged until the charger measures a ter-
minal voltage that is high enough for a regular charging mode. The device then
switches automatically to an appropriate charging mode and continues charging.
6.6. Device protection function
The device is protected against improper use. If there is a short circuit between the
terminals so that the power circuit is not closed (the terminals are not clamped cor-
rectly) or the battery voltage falls below 7.5V, the device remains in standby mode.
You cannot operate the device.
In the event that the terminals have the wrong polarity (are connected incorrectly),
the display also lights up.
If the battery itself is faulty,

6.6.1. Overheating cut-out
If the device overheats during charging, the charging power is reduced to a lower
output. This protects the device from damage.
NOTE
The low charging current can significantly increase the charging time.
6.7. Removing the battery
When removing the battery from the charger, proceed in the following order:
After charging disconnect the device from the mains power.
Detach the negative terminal clamp (black) from the battery's negative terminal.
Detach the positive terminal clamp (red) from the battery's positive terminal.
Reconnect the vehicle's positive terminal connection cable to the battery's posi-
tive terminal.
Reconnect the vehicles negative terminal connection cable to the batterys neg-
ative terminal.
6.8. Switch off
Switch the charger off by pulling out the mains plug.

7. Wall mounting
The device has fixing holes so that you can attach it to the wall.
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock due to current-carrying
cables.
Do not drill holes into areas which may contain em-
bedded power, gas or water lines. Use a suitable
search tool to locate these lines.
Select a suitable location on the wall. There must be adequate ventilation.
Select two rawl plugs and screws that are suitable for the wall and size of the fix-
ing holes.
Mark the drill holes on the wall.
Drill the two holes and insert the rawl plugs.
Screw the device tightly.
8. End of operation
If you are no longer using the device, pull the plug out of the socket.
Store the device in a dry location.
9. Cleaning and care
Before cleaning, pull the plug out of the mains socket. Use a dry, soft cloth for
cleaning. Avoid the use of chemical solutions and cleaning products because
these may damage the device surface and/or markings.
After longer periods of use, also clean the terminal clamps with a dry cloth to
maintain excellent contact with the terminals.

10. Disposal
PACKAGING
Your device is packaged to protect it from transportation damage. Pack-
aging is raw material and can be reused or added to the recycling sys-
tem.
APPLIANCE
According to Directive 2012/19 / EU do not dispose of the product in the
household rubbish at the end of its service life. Take it to a local collec-
tion point for used appliances in order to comply with environmental
regulations. Contact your local authority to find out where your nearest
collection point is located.
BATTERIES
Batteries must be properly disposed of. Retailers who stock batteries
and local authority collection points have appropriate disposal contain-
ers for this purpose. You can contact your local waste disposal company
or municipal authorities for further information.
