operating instructions are part of this product.

They contain important information on safety, use

and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise

yourself with all operating and safety instructions.

Use this product only as described and only for

the speciﬁ ed areas of application. Please also

pass these operating instructions on to any future

owner(s).

Proper use

This appliance is intended exclusively for grilling

and heating food indoors. This appliance is in-

tended exclusively for use in domestic households.

Not to be used for commercial purposes.

Information about this

appliance

“Teppanyaki” is a style of Japanese cuisine.

Traditionally, these meals are prepared directly

on the table using a hot steel plate (“Teppan”).

The possibilities are wide-ranging – pre-cooked

pasta, meat, ﬁ sh, vegetables or dumplings can

be prepared.

Safety instructions

DANGER – RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

► To avoid risks, arrange for defective plugs and/or power cables

to be replaced at once by qualiﬁ ed technicians or our Customer

Service Department.

► Protect the power cable against contact with heated appliance

parts. NEVER use the appliance adjacent to open ﬂ ames, a

hotplate or a heated oven.

► Do not expose the appliance to rain and never use it in a humid

or wet environment. Ensure that the power cable never becomes

wet or moist during operation.

► Before use, check the appliance for visible external damage.

Do not use an appliance that has been damaged or dropped.

► Before using the appliance for the ﬁ rst time and after each cleaning,

check to ensure that the plug contacts on the griddle are dry.

► The power cable must be checked for signs of damage at regular

intervals. If the power cable is damaged, the appliance may no

longer be used.

► The appliance must be connected to a mains socket with a pro-

tective earth.

► The appliance must not come into contact with moisture such as

rain or water.

NEVER immerse the appliance in water or other liquids! You

could receive a fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into

contact with live components during operation.

WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!

► This appliance may be used by children of the age of 8 years or

more and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are

being supervised or have been instructed with regard to the safe

use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks.

► Children must not play with the appliance.

► Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by

children, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are

supervised.

► Children younger than 8 years of age are to be kept away from

the appliance and the power cable.

► After use, allow the appliance to cool down completely before

cleaning it. There is a risk of burns!

► If possible, set up the appliance in the immediate vicinity of an

electrical power socket. Ensure that the power plug is quickly

reachable in case of danger, and also that there is no danger

of tripping over the cable.

► Provide a stable location for the appliance.

Caution! Hot surface!

► During operation touch only the heat-insulated handles and

the temperature regulator. The upper surfaces of the appliance

become very hot during use.

CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE!

► Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control

system to operate the appliance.

► Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.

► Ensure that the appliance, the power cable or the plug do not

come into contact with heat sources such as hotplates or open

ﬂ ames.

► Do not use charcoal or similar fuels to operate the appliance!

► To protect the non-stick coating, do not use metallic tools such as

knives, forks, etc. Should the non-stick coating become damaged,

discontinue use of the appliance.

► Only operate the appliance using the thermostat supplied.

Only use original accessories.

Assembly and setting up

WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!

► Never place the appliance underneath wall

cupboards or next to curtains, cupboard

walls or other ﬂ ammable objects.

► Place the appliance only on a heat-resistant

surface.

1) Take all the parts out of the box and remove

the packaging material and any protective

wrapping.

2) Clean all of the components as described in

the section “Cleaning and care”. Ensure that

all parts are completely dry.

3) Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, clean

and level surface. Ensure that you do not

place the appliance directly next to a wall or

a cupboard.

4) Push the fat drip tray 3 into the guide rails on

the underside of the appliance.

5) Push the thermostat 5 into the socket 1 on

the appliance. Ensure that the temperature

regulator 7 is always set to “0” before you

connect the thermostat to the socket 1.

6) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.

Before ﬁ rst use

1) Lightly grease the griddle 4 with fat or oil that

is suitable for baking/grilling.

This allows any cooking residues on the griddle 4

to be more easily removed.

2) Set the thermostat 5 to level 5 and allow

the appliance to heat up for 5 minutes.

3) After 5 minutes,turn the temperature regulator 7

back to level 0.

4) Then disconnect the plug and allow the appli-

ance to cool down.

NOTE

►

The ﬁ rst time the appliance heats up a small

amount of smoke and smell may be gener-

ated, caused by production residues. This

is completely normal and is not dangerous.

Ensure suﬃ cient ventilation; for example,

open a window.

5) Wipe the griddle 4 with a moist cloth. Ensure

that all parts are completely dry before operating

the appliance.

The appliance is now ready for use.

Thermostat settings

Level 0: Grill switched oﬀ

Level > 0 - 1: grill switched on;

low temperature

Level 1 - 3: grill switched on; medium

temperature (e.g. vegetables)

Level 3 - 5: grill switched on;

high temperature (e.g. meat)

Operation

WARNING!

THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY!

► Once the appliance is in operation, touch

it only using the handles or the temperature

regulator 7. There is a risk of burns!

Once the fat drip tray 3 has been pushed in, the

thermostat 5 has been connected to the socket 1

and the mains plug has been connected to the

power supply:

1) Adjust the temperature regulator 7 to the de-

sired temperature level. The indicator lamp 6

illuminates. When the set temperature has been

reached, the temperature indicator lamp 6

goes out.

NOTE

►

The indicator lamp 6 illuminates while the

appliance is heating up to the set temperature

level. When the temperature level has been

reached, the indicator lamp 6 goes out.

However, this can always illuminate and go

out again. This indicates that the set tempera-

ture has brieﬂ y fallen and the appliance is

heating itself back up.

2) Apply a little vegetable oil to the griddle 4.

NOTE

►

Excess fat or other ﬂ uids will run into the fat

drip tray 3!

3) Place the food to be grilled on the griddle 4.

Turn the food over after a while, as required.

4) Remove the food from the griddle 4 with

the help of heat-resistant plastic or wooden

implements (e.g. a wooden spatula 8) once

it is ready.

5) Turn the thermostat 5 to “0”.

6) Remove the plug from the mains power socket.

Cleaning and care

DANGER – ELECTRIC SHOCK!

►

Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect

the plug from the mains power socket! Risk of

electric shock!

► Always remove the thermostat 5 from the

socket 1 before cleaning the appliance.

NEVER immerse the appliance in water or

other liquids!

WARNING!

THERE IS A RISK OF INJURY!

► Always allow the appliance to cool down

before cleaning it. Otherwise there is a risk

of burns!

ATTENTION! DAMAGE TO PROPERTY!

►

Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning

materials. These could damage the surfaces!

■ Use a wooden spatula 8 to push any excess

fat or liquid through the outlet 2 into the fat

drip tray 3. Wipe up any remaining fat using

a kitchen towel.

■ Wipe the griddle 4 with a moist cloth.

NOTE

►

If any stubborn residue should still adhere to

the griddle 4, use a little detergent. After

this, wipe the griddle 4 with clean water.

Ensure that no detergent residues remain on

the griddle 4.

► If you have used detergent to clean the

griddle 4, make sure that you rub it lightly

with oil afterwards!

■ Clean the thermostat 5 with a moist cloth.

For stubborn residues use a mild detergent on

the cloth.

Ensure that the thermostat 5 is completely

dry before operating it again.

■ Clean the wooden spatula 8 and the fat

drip tray 3 in warm water. Add a little mild

detergent.

Rinse all the parts oﬀ using clean water. Ensure

that all parts are dry before reusing.

NOTE

►

The fat drip tray 3 can be cleaned in a

dishwasher.

Storage

■ Store the cleaned appliance in a clean, dust-free

and dry location.

Troubleshooting

Defect Cause Solution

The appliance is not

working.

The mains plug is not connected to the

malfunction may have other causes, please contact our Customer Service.

Warranty and Service

The warranty provided for this appliance is 3

years from the date of purchase. This appliance

has been manufactured with care and inspected

meticulously prior to delivery. Please retain your

receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a

warranty claim, please contact your Customer

Service by telephone. This is the only way to

guarantee free return of your goods.

The warranty covers only claims for material and

manufacturing defects, not for transport damage,

wearing parts or for damage to fragile compo-

nents, e.g. switches or batteries. This appliance is

intended solely for private use and not for com-

mercial purposes.

The warranty is deemed void if this product has

been subjected to improper or inappropriate han-

dling, abuse or modiﬁ cations that were not carried

out by one of our authorised service centres.

Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way

by this warranty.

The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs

made under the warranty. This also applies to

replaced and repaired parts. Damage and defects

present at the time of purchase must be reported

immediately after unpacking, or no later than two

days after the date of purchase. Repairs made

after expiry of the warranty period are chargeable.

► Se till att strömkabeln inte kommer i kontakt med heta ställen på

produkten. Använd aldrig produkten i närheten av öppna lågor,

värmeplattor eller en varm spis.

► Utsätt inte produkten för regn och använd den aldrig i fuktig eller

våt omgivning. Akta så att strömkabeln eller kontakten inte blir

våta eller fuktiga när du använder produkten.

► Kontrollera om produkten har några synliga skador innan du

använder den. Om produkten är skadad eller har fallit i golvet

får den inte användas.

► Kontrollera att grillplattans stickkontakter är torra innan du tar

produkten i bruk och efter varje rengöring.

► Kabeln måste kontrolleras regelbundet för att se om det ﬁ nns

tecken på skador. Om kabeln är skadad får produkten inte

användas.

► Produkten måste anslutas till ett eluttag med skyddsledare.

► Lämna aldrig produkten utan uppsikt när den används.

► Använd inte grillkol eller liknande till den här produkten!

► Skydda nonstickbeläggningen genom att inte använda några

metallföremål som t ex knivar, gaﬄ ar osv. Om nonstickbelägg-

ningen skadats ska du inte använda produkten längre.

Montering och uppställning

VARNING! BRANDRISK!

► Ställ aldrig produkten under överskåp eller

bredvid gardiner, skåpväggar eller andra

föremål som kan börja brinna.

► Använd endast produkten på ytor som tål

värme.

1) Ta upp alla delar ur kartongen och ta bort allt

förpackningsmaterial och ev. skyddsfolie.

2) Rengör alla delar så som beskrivs i kapitel

Rengöring och skötsel. Försäkra dig om att alla

delar är helt torra.

3) Ställ produkten på en jämn och ren yta som tål

värme. Ställ inte produkten direkt mot en vägg

eller ett skåp.

4) Skjut in fettuppsamlingsskålen 3 i skenorna på

produktens undersida.

5) För in termostaten 5 i uttaget 1 på produkten.

Kontrollera alltid att temperaturreglaget 7

står på 0 innan du kopplar termostaten till

uttaget 1.

6) Sätt kontakten i ett eluttag.

Före första användningen

1) Smörj grillplattan 4 med lite fett eller olja som

lämpar sig för stekning och grillning.

Då lossnar eventuella rester av tillverkningspro-

cessen lättare från grillplattan 4.

2) Sätt termostaten 5 på läge 5 och låt produk-

ten värmas upp i ca 5 minuter.

3) Efter 5 minuter vrider du tillbaka temperaturreg-

laget 7 till läge 0.

4) Dra ut kontakten och låt produkten kallna.

OBSERVERA

►

Första gången produkten värms upp kan det

ryka och lukta lite av rester från tillverknings-

processen. Det är fullständigt normalt och helt

ofarligt. Sörj för god ventilation, t ex genom

att öppna ett fönster.

5) Torka av grillplattan 4 med en fuktig, ren

trasa. Försäkra dig om att alla delar är helt

torra innan du använder produkten.

Produkten är nu klar att användas.

Termostatinställningar

Läge 0: Grillen är avstängd

Läge > 0 - 1: Grillen är påkopplad;

låg temperatur

Läge 1 - 3: Grillen är påkopplad;

medelhög temperatur

(för t ex grönsaker)

Läge 3 - 5: Grillen är påkopplad;

hög temperatur (för t ex kött)

► Ta bara i handtagen och temperaturreg-

laget 7 när produkten används. Risk för

brännskador!

När du skjutit in fettuppsamlingsskålen 3, satt termo-

staten 5 i uttaget 1 och satt kontakten i ett eluttag:

1) Sätt temperaturreglaget 7 på önskad tempe-

ratur. Kontrollampan 6 tänds. När kontroll-

lampan 6 slocknar har produkten kommit upp

i rätt temperatur.

OBSERVERA

►

Kontrollampan 6 lyser medan produkten

värms upp till inställd temperatur. När pro-

dukten kommit upp i rätt temperatur slocknar

kontrollampan 6.

Det kan emellertid hända att den tänds och

släcks några gånger när du grillar. Det betyder

att temperaturen sjunkit för mycket en liten stund

och att produkten nu har värmts upp igen.

2) Häll lite vegetabilisk olja på grillplattan 4.

OBSERVERA

►

Överﬂ ödigt fett och andra vätskor rinner ner

i fettuppsamlingsskålen 3!

3) Lägg det som ska grillas på grillplattan 4.

Vänd på det som grillas efter en stund om det

behövs.

4) Ta upp den färdiggrillade maten från grillplat-

tan 4 med ett redskap av plast eller trä som

tål värme (t ex med en träspatel 8).

5) Vrid termostaten 5 till läge 0.

6) Dra ut kontakten.

Rengöring och skötsel

FARA - RISK FÖR ELCHOCK!

►

Dra alltid ut kontakten ur eluttaget innan

du rengör produkten! Annars ﬁ nns risk för

elchocker!

► Dra alltid ut termostaten 5 ur uttaget 1

innan du rengör produkten.

Doppa aldrig ner produkten i vatten eller

andra vätskor!

VARNING!

RISK FÖR PERSONSKADOR!

► Låt alltid produkten bli kall innan du rengör

den. Annars ﬁ nns risk för brännskador!

AKTA! RISK FÖR MATERIALSKADOR!

►

Använd inte slipande medel eller starka

rengöringsmedel. Då kan ytan skadas!

■ Använd en träspatel 8 för att föra fett och/eller

kvarvarande vätska genom utloppet 2 och ner

i fettuppsamlingsskålen 3. Använd hushållspap-

per med god uppsugningsförmåga för att ta

bort ytterligare fett.

■ Torka av grillplattan 4 med en fuktig, ren trasa.

OBSERVERA

►

Om det är svårt att få bort rester från grill-

plattan 4 kan du använda lite diskmedel.

Torka sedan av grillplattan 4 med rent vatten.

Kontrollera att det inte ﬁ nns några rester av

diskmedel kvar på grillplattan 4.

► När grillplattan 4 rengjorts med diskmedel

måste den smörjas med lite olja igen!

■ Rengör termostaten 5 med en fuktig trasa.

Envisa ﬂ äckar tar du bort med några droppar

milt diskmedel på trasan.

Försäkra dig om att termostaten 5 är helt torr

innan du använder den igen.

■ Rengör träspatlarna 8 och fettuppsamlingsskå-

len 3 i varmt vatten. Tillsätt lite milt diskmedel

i vattnet.

Skölj alla delarna i rent vatten. Försäkra dig om

att alla delar är helt torra innan du använder

dem igen.

OBSERVERA

►

Fettuppsamlingsskålen 3 kan också diskas i

maskin.

Förvaring

■ Förvara den rengjorda produkten på ett rent,

dammfritt och torrt ställe.
