Introduction

This manual explains setup the basing usage of ColorGate RIP bundle edition for Ri 1000.

Recommended for using multiple printers:

• CPU: Intel i9-9900K or newer / AMD Ryzen 7 3800X or newer

• RAM: ≥16 GB

• Free disk space: 512 GB NVME

• Display resolution: 1920 x 1080

Installation and operation:

USB port for hardware dongle required; LAN adapter, TCP/IP for network access required, software-based licenses

require internet access

Use in virtualized environments:

Software based licenses:

Operation of the ColorGATE software on virtual machines is not permitted with software based licenses.

Hardware based licenses ("hardware dongle"):

If the virtualization solution supports USB, ColorGATE software can usually be operated with hardware

based licenses. Please note, however, that ColorGATE cannot provide support for problems that occur in

the context of the virtualization solution. There may be restrictions when printers, measuring devices or

cutting plotters are connected via USB. In addition, the hardware requirements must be exclusively

available as resources for the virtual machine to ensure a high-performance operation of the software.

For these reasons, we recommend using virtualized environments for testing purposes only.

Printer Setup

The setting of IP address for Printer.

The setting method of IP address for Printer are two patterns.

Case1: For connecting directly to the printer from a PC that is not parts of a network.

Case2: For a DYNAMIC setup

Case1: For connecting directly to the printer from a PC that is not parts of a network.

[Confirm IP address of your PC]

1. Open the command prompt dialogue box on your PC.

2. Type IPCONFIG in the first line in the command prompt

3. In the Ethernet Adapter Ethernet section, use the IP address but change the last 3 digits to a number that

will be unique to the printer and the Subnet Mask. In the example below, we took the 169.254.248.172

and will assign 169.254.248.174 to the printer

4. Enter the new IP address and the subnet mask into the printer by going to the settings tab, options IP

Address (DHCP must be disable)

A. Go to the settings config on the Ri 1000

B. Select the OPTION under the settings tab

C. Select the IP ADDRESS option in the menu dialogue box

Case2: For a DYNAMIC setup

1. Enable the DHCP as shown below to add the printer to an existing network.

And Check the assigned IP ADDRESS.

Usage of ColorGate RIP

1. Go to ColorGate Service & Support website (https://support.colorgate.com.)

2. Click “User & Products” > “User registration”.

3. An assistant will guide you through the next steps.

Download software of ColorGate RIP/MIM files.

Note - If the email you received when you execute “User registration” contains a download link for the

Productionserver and MIM, download it from that download location.

1. Go to ColorGate Service & Support website (https://support.colorgate.com/).

2. Click “Download” -> “MIM packages / Profile targets - /MIM-Packages (Profiles and

Linearizations)/Production Profiles/Ricoh/Ricoh Ri 1000”.

3. Click “Download” of “PS_Ricoh_Ri_1000_XX.cmp” and save the file in your local PC.

4. Go to ColorGate Service & Support website (https://support.colorgate.com/

5. Click “Software updates.

6. Click “Update VXX.XX.XXXX”.

7. Click “Download” of “PSXXSetupVXX.XX.XXXX.exe”and save the file in your local PC.

8. Double click of “PSXXSetupVXX.XX.XXXX.exe” and install the ColorGate RIP according to explanation of

this RIP.

9. When the following dialog is shown, please select “Yes” button. USB dongle registration will be explained

after installation.

Start RIP Software(Hardware dongle)

1. Insert the USB dongle to an USB port on the computer.(If you have software license, please refer to Start

RIP Software(Software dongle))

2. Click Windows mark on left bottom on your pc.

3. Click Productionserver** -> Productionserver** .

Start RIP Software(Software dongle)

1. Go to https://support.colorgate.com.

2. If you are not logged in to your user profile, click Login to log in using your email address and password.

3. Go to your user profile and select the Licenses tab.

4. Select the desired license number.

5. In the License section you will find the corresponding activation code.

6. Start the software. A dialog will open.

7. Enter your activation code and confirm by clicking on Activate.

License Update

8. When the following dialog will open , user select “Start Update…” .

ProductionSever -> ? -> Help Contents.

Setup driver

1 Printer -> "New" button:

2 Select Ricoh -> Ricoh Ri 1000 and push "Next" button.

3 Push "Import MIM…" button

4 Select MIM file(*) and push "Next" button.

*ex. filename: RICOH Ri1000 MIM package.cmp

5 Check on "All" in Media and push "Next" button.

6 Push "Next" button.

7 Push "Finish" button.

8 Push "Next" button

9 Input IP address and port information of Printer, and push "Next" button.

10 Push “Next” button.

11 Push “Next” button.

12 Push "Finish” Button.

Print method

1. Drag your job (the file/s) via drag & drop from Windows Explorer into the job queue for the opened RIP.

2. Select the job and click right mouse button and select the “Print”.

Change of print mode

1. Select the job in the “Job” archive, and then right-click the selected job.

2. Click [Settings].

3. Click the [Media] in [Color] tab, and then select the Garment color.

4. Click the [Metamode], and then select the print mode.

5. Click [OK].

NOTE – If you want to select Uni-directional printing, click the [settings] under Advanced in [Color] tab.

And, select UniDir for the same print mode as the Metamode in [Print Mode] tab.

*For Ri1000, Super Speed is not supported.

• Speed : 600x600 dpi(2pass)

Fastest print mode with default resolution.

• Fine : 600x600 dpi(4pass)

Standard print mode, recommended as default.

• Superfine : 1200x1200 dpi(8pass)

High definition print mode.

Recommended image : photograph

• Superfine(color burst) : 1200x1200 dpi(8pass)

High definition and vivid color print mode.
