CHARGING YOUR DRILL-DRIVER

switch delivem higher speed and torque with increased

tdgger pressure. Speed is controlled by the amount of

switchtriggerdepression.

bya selector locatedabovethe switchtdgger.Withthedrill

held in normal operating position,the directionof rotation

selector shouldbe positionedto the left of the switchfor

position, the switchtriggerislocked.

TORQUE ADJUSTMENT

(Driving power of your drill-driver)

When using your drill-driverforvarlous drivingapplica-

tions,itbecomes necessaryto increase or decrease the

torquein orderto helppreventthe possibilityofdamaging

screwheads, threads,workplace,etc. In general, torque

shouldcorrespondto the intensityof the screwdiameter.

Ifthetorque istoo highor the screwstoo small,the

screws may be damaged or broken.

The torque "isadjustedby rotatingthe torque adjustment

ring.See Figure7. The torqueis greaterwhen the torque

adjustmentringis set on a highersetting. The torqueis

lesswhen the torque adjustmentdng Isset on a lower

setting.

The propersettingdependson the typeof materialand the

size of screwyouare using.

TO ADJUST TORQUE

Identify thefourtorque Indicator settingslocated on

the fi'ontofyourdrill.See Figure7.

Rotate adjustmentringtothe desiredset'ring.

with clamp_to keep Itfromturningas thedrillbIt rotates.

Holdtoolfirmly and place the bitat the pointtobe drilled.

Depressthe switchtriggerto starttool.

Move the drillbit intothe workpieca,applyingonlyenough

pressureto keepthe bitcutting. Do notforce or applyside

pressureto elongatea hole.

has a tendencyto graband kickoppositetothe

• Tap the hax key sharply with a mallet in a clockwise

direction.See Figure 12. This willloosenthe screw In

thechuck for easy removal.

• Open chuck jaws end remove hex key, Remove the

chuckscrew byturningit In a ctuck_se direcffon.

Note: The screw has lefthandthreads.

• Inserthexkey Inchuckend tightenchuck_ws securely.

This will loosen chuck on the spindle, tt can now be

unscrewed byhand. See Figure14.

TO RETIGHTEN A LOOSE CHUCK

The chuck may become iocse on spindleand develop a

wobble. Periodicallycheck the chuck screw for tightneSs.

Totighten,followthese steps:

• Locktheswitchtriggerbypiecingthedirect_n ofrotation

selectorIncenter position. See Figure5.

• Open the chuckjaws.

• insert hex key into chuck and tighten chuck jaws

securety.Taphexkeysherptywitha mallet ina clockwise

direction,This will_ightenchuckon thespindle.
