14.3 Unpacking
To unpack the device, proceed as follows:
Remove the device out of the carton and remove the packaging
material.
14.4 Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device against damages during
transit. The packaging materials are selected in accordance
with environmentally compatible and recycling-related points of
view and can therefore be recycled.
Returning the packaging back to the material loop saves raw
materials and reduces the quantities of accumulated waste.
Take any packaging materials that are no longer required to
“Green Dot” recycling collection points for disposal.

14.6 Assembling the accessories
Please note
The device can only be operated with teapot and filter pot.
14.6.1 Water tank
Use the teapot (3) to pour the desired quantity of water into the
water tank (1). Pour the water slowly, making sure that all water
flows into the tank. Closing the lid too soon will lock the valve
and the remaining water cannot enter the tank. Pour at least 0.4
L, but no more than 1 L of water into the tank. Close the lid so
that it locks into place.
Warning
The lid must always remain closed while the water is being
heated!
14.6.2 Filter and filter pot
Place the funnel (9) onto the filter (8). This makes it easier to
add the tea. Place the desired amount of tea in the filter (8).
Use the quantity recommended by the tea manufacturer.
Remove the funnel (9). Close the lid and insert the filter pot (2).
14.6.3 Teapot
Close the lid and place the teapot (3) on the warming plate (6).
Please note
Always make sure that the lids are on the pots, before
operating the device.

14.7 Electrical connection
In order to ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the
device, the following instructions must be observed for the
electrical connection:
Before connecting the device, compare the connection data
(voltage and frequency) on the rating plate with those of your
electrical network. This data must agree in order that no
damages occur in the device
If in doubt, ask your qualified electrician.
The electrical outlet must be protected by a 16A safety cut-out
switch.
The connection between the device and the electrical network
may employ a 3 meter long (max.) extension cable with a cross-
section of 1.5 mm². The use of multiple plugs or gangs is
prohibited because of the danger of fire that is involved with
this.
Make sure that the power cable is undamaged and has not
been installed under the oven or over hot or sharp surfaces.
The electrical safety of the device is only guaranteed if the
device is connected to a properly installed protective conductor
system. Operations using an electrical outlet without a
protective conductor are prohibited. If in doubt, have the house
installation checked over by a qualified electrician.
The manufacturer cannot be made responsible for damages
that are caused by a missing or damaged protective conductor.

17 Operation and Handing
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to
operating the device. Observe the following notices to avoid
dangers and damages:
Warning
Do not leave the device unsupervised when it is in operation,
so that you can intervene quickly in the event of dangers.
17.1 Implementing
Please note
Before using the appliance for the first time, boil two times a pot
of water.
Pour 1 L water into the tank (1).
Use the timer (7) to set the brewing time to 2 minutes.
After the water has flown into the filter pot (2), switch off the
appliance.
Allow the appliance to cool at least 5 minutes.
Boil again 1 L water, as shown above.
When the appliance is cool down, you can brew your tea.
Operation and Handling
caso TeeGourmet 42
17.2 Tea brewing
The appliance is suitable for all types of tea except green tea.
1. Plug the power plug into the wall socket.
2. Open the lid of the tea maker. Use the teapot (3) to pour the
desired quantity of water (0,4 – 1 L) into the water tank (1).
Pour the water slowly, making sure that all water flows into the
tank. Closing the lid too soon will lock the valve and the
remaining water cannot enter the tank. Close the lid so that it
locks into place.
3. Remove the filter pot (2).
4. Place the funnel (9) onto the filter (8). This makes it easier to
add the tea. Place the desired amount of tea in the filter (8).
Use the quantity recommended by the tea manufacturer.
Remove the funnel (9). Close the lid ans insert the filter pot (2).
5. Close the lid of the teapot (3) and place it on the warming plate
(6).
6. Use the timer (7) to set the desired brewing time (2 -16
minutes).
Do not change the time while the tea is brewing.
Tea leaves absorb water, reducing the yield by about
½ - 1 cup.
Brewing times are approximate, with a tolerance of about
+/-20-30 sec.
7. Now switch on(4) the appliance. The red LED (5) will light up.
8. The water boils.
9. After a few minutes the water will flow into the filter pot (2).
10. The warming plate (6) will warm-up the teapot (3) for two
minutes. At the end of the brewing time the tea flows into the
teapot (3).
11. The LED (5) turns from red to green.
12. The tea now is brewed, the warming plate (6) keeps it warm up
to one hour.
13. Wait 1-2 minutes before serving the tea to allow the aroma to
develop.
14. Now you can enjoy your tea.
Operation and Handling
caso TeeGourmet 43
The lid must always remain closed while the water is being
heated.
Wait until all of the tea is in the teapot (3).
17.3 Automatic shuts off function
The tea maker is equipped with some automatic shuts off functions:
When the water is heating, remove the filter pot (2) or/and the
teapot (3), the appliance automatically stopps the water
heating. The red LED light (5) is flahing and the appliance
automatically shuts off after 10 minutes
When the tea brewing, remove the filter pot (2) or/and the
teapot (3), the led light (5) is flahing. The brewing time keeps on
counting, at the time the appliance automatically will not warm-
up the teapot before the tea is dripping.
The appliance automatically shuts off approximately 1 hour
after the tea has finished flowing into the teapot.
Cleaning and Maintenance
caso TeeGourmet 44
17.4 Cleaning and Maintenance
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to
cleaning and maintaining the device. Please observe the
notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.
17.5 Safety information
Attention
Please observe the following safety notices, before you
commence with cleaning the device:
The tea maker must be cleaned at regular intervals and
calcium deposits should be removed. If the tea maker is not
maintained in a clean condition, this will have a detrimental
effect on the service life of the device.
Switch the tea maker off prior to cleaning it and unplug the
plug from the wall power outlet.
The water tank, tea pot and filter pot are hot after their use.
There is a danger of burns! Wait until the device has cooled
down.
Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or
solvents.
Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.
Cleaning and Maintenance
caso TeeGourmet 45
17.6 Cleaning
Filter, teapot and filter pot
The filter, teapot and the filter pot are dishwasher-safe.
Enclosure
Wipe the enclosure with a soft cloth moistened with mild
soap and dry it with another cloth.
Warning
Do not immerse the tea maker in water.
Water tank
Like all hot water appliances, the tea maker must be
decalcified regularly.
Calcium deposits in the appliance cause noises, and the
brewing process takes longer, which increases the electricity
used.
Pour approximately 750 ml of water and approximately 150
ml vinegar concentrate or vinegar into the tea maker and
switch on the machine. After decalcifying, rinse the machine
by operating it 2 times with 750 ml of clear water.
Depending on the hardness of the water and degree of use,
you should decalcify the tea maker about once every 2
weeks.
Please note
Regularly decalcifying your tea maker will reduce the
electricity used and prolong the life of the appliance.
The materials can take on the odour of peppermint or herbal
teas, which can affect the aroma and flavour of the next pot
of tea, even after cleaning.
