loudspeaker system is designed to deliver accurate, high power sound in a lightweight, small and easy to install
package
Feature laden and powerful, the
Diva™
55
is the best choice for a discrete great sounding loudspeaker system.
Each
Diva™
55
speaker can be used in constant voltage distributed systems or low impedance systems. With an internal, switchable
transformer, you can economically install a Foreground music, background music or paging system, while still only using one 70v/100v
amplier.
Each
Diva™
speaker can be switched easily to the 8ohm setting for use in smaller systems.
Another unique, and important feature of the
Diva™
55
is the spheroid enclosure that eliminates internal standing waves, improving
conversion efciency and low frequency output.
Utilizing the proprietary mounting system, installation is easy, safe and economical. Everything you need to install a great foreground
speaker system is there!

loudspeakers are the result of many years of experience in the use, design and manufacture of professional
loudspeaker products. We take great pride in engineering and building every Wharfedale Pro loudspeaker and wish to thank you for
entrusting us with your sound.
From the time Gilbert Briggs built his rst loudspeaker in 1932, to the present, Wharfedale Loudspeakers have maintained the same
standard of quality in components, workmanship and performance. Wharfedale are one of a few present day manufacturers that design,
engineer and build all of our own transducers.
Please take a few minutes to read this manual completely in order to ensure that you get the most out of your

The uniform dispersion (60.5° conical pattern) of the
Diva™
55
makes it easy to place the speakers where you need them, rather than
trying to rearrange the room to accommodate the sound system. Mount the speakers above head level to get the full effect of the system
and cover the most people.
The
Diva
55
is an excellent background music speaker. It comes complete with an extraordinary state of the art wall mounting
system to make installation easy and safe. It can be mounted on a wall or ceiling in a vertical or horizontal position. Utilizing the
mounting system that is included with every
Diva™

, installation is quick, safe and easily adjustable.
Ensure that the latch hooks fully engage when attaching the diva to the mounting bracket. Also ensure that the latch hook release lever
returns to its original position once the connection has been made, indicating that the diva loudspeaker is secure. Please refer to the
important warnings & safety instructions before you attempt installation!
SETTING UP/SPEAKER PLACEMENT
CONNECTIONS / WIRING
LOW-IMPEDANCE (8-OHM) SYSTEM:
The
Diva™
55
features an internal line-matching transformer with a switch to congure the system in the most suitable way. For low
impedance systems turn the tap selector to the 8-ohm position.Keep in mind the capability of the amplier working safely with loads less
than 4 Ohms. If you need more speakers, you would be wise to create a Constant Voltage System that allows the use of many more
speakers with a single channel of amplication.
HIGH-IMPEDANCE/CONSTANT-VOLTAGE SYSTEM:
The
Diva™
55
features an internal line-matching transformer with four power/impedance selections for 70/100-volt line. In speaker
systems, anything over 32Ω is considered high impedance. Smaller wire can be used without excessive power loss.
The switchable power taps are:
• 7.5W, 15W, 30W and 60W (70 volt)
• 15W, 30W, 60W (100 volt)
You connect your speaker cable from the 70v or 100v output of your amplier (or to an external line transformer if you are using a low
impedance amplier and want to use it as a constant voltage amplier) to the input terminals of the speaker. You will then adjust the
wattage of the transformer using the rotary switch under the logo medallion, to the correct setting.
As you would with any audio system, you gure out how many speakers you want to use and then divide that into the wattage of your
power amplier - you should not exceed that load.
