TOOLS REQUIRED:
Phillips head screwdriver Sabre or hole saw
Drill and drill bits Center punch or awl
Half-round file or rasp
SPECIAL NOTES:
Always wear eye and ear protection and a dust mask.
Be sure to mount speakers on a bulkhead only, never cut
holes in the hull. To determine that there is enough room,
first reach into the area where you would like to mount the
speaker and feel around to ensure there is ample space
before drilling any holes.
CUTTING / DRILLING HOLES:
1) Choose the desired location for your speakers. As boat
speakers are extremely directional, they should be
pointed at you directly or you won't get the full sound.
2) Place the template over the area designated for the
speaker and mark the 5-5/8 inch (14.3cm) hole with a
pencil or a metal scribing tool.
3) Drill a starter hole (close to and on the inside of the
line) for your saw blade.
4) Using the sabre or hole saw, cut the hole for your
speaker being careful to follow the line so the end
result is a smooth-edged circular hole. Finish the hole
by filing or rasping any rough edges.
5) Mark four (4) screw holes with pencil or center punch
(recommended).
6) Drill holes and complete mounting your speaker with
screws provided.
