youfacilitateafirmwareupgradepriortomountingyourMR57HW.

AllgatewayMR57HWs(MR57HWswithEthernetconnectionstotheLAN)mustbeassignedroutableIP
addresses.
TheseIPaddressescanbedynamicallyassignedviaDHCPorstaticallyassigned.

WhenusingDHCP,theDHCPservershouldbeconfiguredtoassignastaticIPaddressforeachMAC
address
belongingtoaMerakiAP.Otherfeaturesofthewirelessnetworksuchas802.1xauthentication,

propertythattheAPshavestaticIPaddresses.

StaticIPsareassignedusingthelocalwebserveroneachAP.Thefollowingproceduredescribeshowto

Keepthefollowinginmind:

Thedeviceshouldhaveunobstructedlineofsighttomostcoverageareas.Forexample,if
installing
in
anofficefilledwithworkspacesdividedbymidheightcubiclewalls,installingonthe
ceilingorhigh
onawallwouldbeideal.

PoweroverEthernetsupportsamaximumcablelengthof300ft(100m).

Formostmountingscenarios,theMR57HWmountplateprovidesaquick,simple,andflexiblemeansof
mounting
yourdevice.Theinstallationshouldbedoneintwosteps.First,installthemountplatetoyour
selectedlocation.
Then,attachtheMR57HWtothemountplate.
