FAQS
Why will my FC 5 Cordless not power on?
1) The battery could be empty: to remedy
this, please plug the charging cable into the
back of the machine and plug the charger’s
main plug into a working electrical outlet. The
battery indicator light will begin ashing to
show you how much battery power the
machine has left. If the lowermost indicator
light is the only light ashing, the machine’s
battery was fully drained.
2) The machine could still be plugged in.
Please check to make sure the charging cable
is removed from the back of the machine
before starting.
Why is the battery of my FC 5 Cordless not
charging?
Please make sure that the charging cable is
snuggly inserted into the back of the
machine, the main plug is snuggly secure in
the wall socket and the wall socket has
power.
Why is the lowermost LED ashing when the
device is switched on, but the machine won’t
start?
This indicates that your FC 5 Cordless is com-
pletely out of battery, please charge the
machine.
Why are the LED lights ashing quickly/simul-
taneously?
1) This indicates that you may be using a
wrong or defective charging cable. Please
make sure you are using the original charging
cable for the machine. If the problem per-
sists, please give us a call at 800-537-4129.
2) This could also indicate that the unit is
overheating during use, which can happen
when operating the unit in high tempera-
tures. If this happens, keep the device turned
off for several minutes or until it has cooled
down. The device will switch on only when
the unit has cooled down.
Why aren’t the rollers on my FC 5 Cordless
rotating?
The rollers of your unit could be blocked.
Please remove the rollers and then remove
the suction head cover. Once removed, check
to make sure there is nothing blocking the
cavity where the rollers sit.
FAQS
Why is my FC 5 Cordless leaving streaks on my
oors?
1) You forgot to prime your rollers prior to
use. To prime your rollers, place about 3 oz.
of water in the cleaning/storage base. Then,
place the machine in the base and turn the
machine on for about 30-45 seconds, or until
all the water in the base has been absorbed.
Then, empty the waste water tank prior to
use
2) You may be using too much detergent.
Please make sure you are only using 1/4 to
1/2 of a capful (or about 8-10 ml) of Kärcher
detergent per clean water tank.
Why is the suction power of my FC 5 Cordless
reduced?
1) Your fresh water tank may be empty.
Please remove the fresh water tank and ll it
with cold or lukewarm water and then
replace.
2) The rollers may not be installed properly.
Please make sure that the colours on the
inside of the rollers are matched to the col-
our on the roller bar (green to green and blue
to blue). Twist the rollers until they t snug-
gly on the roller bar and lock into place.
3) The suction hoses may be clogged. To rem-
edy, remove the black tubes on either side of
the FC 5 that run from the head of the
machine to the machine’s body. Place the
tubes under running water to clear any
obstruction or trapped debris. Once clean,
reinstall the tubes by tting the outside of
the tube around the circular attachment
points to both the head and body of the
machine.
4) The suction head cover may be clogged.
Please remove both rollers from the roller
bar and then remove the suction head cover
by pressing the grey button and pulling the
cover away from the machine. Hold the cover
under running water, making sure to allow
the water to run over any crevices in the
cover. Then, reinstall the cover by holding
horizontally and “clicking” back onto the
machine. The grey button should stick out a
little bit if installed properly.
FAQS
Why is my FC 5 Cordless leaking?
1) The waste water tank may be over-filled.
The waste water tank is designed to pick up
the same amount of liquid that is dispensed
from the fresh water tank. The waste water
tank is full once it reaches the “Max” mark
located approximately 1/4 of the way up
from the bottom of the tank. Please make
sure to always measure the amount of waste
water in the tank when the machine is fully
vertical. When the waste water level has
reached the “Max” mark, please empty the
waste water tank by placing the FC 5 in the
storage/cleaning base. Then, press down on
the top part of the waste water tank and pull
the waste water tank away from the machine.
Over a sink, separate the top portion of the
waste water tank from the bottom portion
and pour the contents into the sink. Rinse
both the top and bottom part of the waste
water tank under water before reinstalling.
You will hear a “click” when the waste water
tank is correctly inserted.
2) The waste water tank may not be fully or
correctly inserted. Please remove the waste
water tank by placing the FC 5 in the storage/
cleaning base and then pressing down on the
top part of the waste water tank. Once you
have removed the waste water tank, please
re-insert it by placing the tank into the back
of the machine with the sticker facing out-
ward. You will hear a “click” when the waste
water tank is correctly inserted into the FC 5.
Why is there noise coming from the suction
head cover?
This could be caused by debris getting stuck
in the suction head cover. Please remove
both rollers and then the suction head cover.
Hold the suction head cover under running
water, making sure to let the water run over
any crevices in the cover. Finally, re-install
the head cover by clicking it back into place.
They grey button should stick out a little
when installed properly.
