Uponcompletionoftheassemblysteps,itmaybenecessarytomovetheunit.The910Eris
equippedwithanintegratedtransportwheelwhichisrecessedintothefrontoftheframe.Tomove
theunit,lifttherearframe,usingthehandhold.Lifttherearendupwarduntilthewheelstouchthe
floor,andcarefullyrolltheunitintoposition.
Plugtheunitintoapoweroutlet.
Ensuretheunitisstablebyadjustingthelevelingfeet.
CUSTOMUSERADJUSTMENTS‐DiamondbackNaturalAlignment(DNA)
Withthe910Ernowassembledandsetintoplace,theuserspecificsettingsshouldbeadjusted.DiamondbackFitnessrecognizesthefactthat
eachbodyisunique.Severalbuiltinfeaturesallowtheusertofinetunethefitofthe910Erforamoreergonomicandcomfortableworkout.
WecallthesefeaturesDiamondbackNaturalAlignmentorDNA.
VariableWidthFootbeds
Thevariablewidthfootbedsaredesignedtoaccommodatethewidthof
anindividual’spelvis.Awiderpelvistypicallyindicatesthebodyrequires
awiderstance.The910Erallowstheusertoadjustthewidthofthe
footbedsfrom1.7”(4.3cm)wideto3.2”(8.1cm)tomorecloselymatch
theirnaturalalignmentandmechanics.
Toadjustthefootbeds,removethesix(6)clearplasticfootbedcapsand
setaside.Loosenthesix(6)Allenboltsuntilthefootbedsmovesfreely.Thereisnoreasontocompletely
removethebolts.Alignthefootbedstothedesiredpositionasindicatedbythemarkingsonthefootbed
line

Refixthefootbedsbytighteningthesix(6)Allenbolts.Reinstallthesix(6)footbedcaps .

TiltingConsole
Toensureusersofeverystaturecanmaintainaclearandhighlyvisibleviewoftheconsole,the910Erfeaturesatiltingconsole.Hingedatthe
bottom,adjustthedisplaybygrippingthetopandtiltingtheentireconsoleforeandaftuntilthedesiredviewingangleisachieved.
AdjustableWidthHandlebars
Theadjustablewidthhandlebarsaredesignedto
accommodateanindividual’sbodymechanics.Ratherthan
attemptingtoadjusttheuser’snaturalmotiontoonethat
isfixedandinflexible,the910Eroffersacustomizedfit.The
threehandlebarpositionsallowthewidthtobeadjusted
witharangeof9.5”(24.1cm)andanadjustablereachwith
7.5”(19.0cm)offoreaftadjustment.
Toadjustthebars,opentheredquickreleaseleversontheleftandrightpivots.Selectthedesiredpositionand resetthe quickreleaselever.
Thepressurerequiredtolockthelevershouldbesufficienttoremoveanymove
mentofthehandlebar.Adjustmentoftheleverissimilartoa
nutandbolt.Holdtheleverinthe openpositionandrotatethenutontheoppositeendclockwisetotightenandcounterclockwisetoloosen.
Whileholdingthehandlebarinthedesireposition,closethelever.Theamountofpressurerequiredtoproperlylockthelevershouldleavean
impressioninthepalmoftheuser’shand.

suchasheartdisease,certaintypesofcancer,aswellasType2di
abetesamongotherafflictions.
HeartRateisanImportantKeytoYourExercise
TheSurgeonGeneralalsoreleasedareportonphysicalactivityandhealth.Thisreportdictatesthatexerciseandfitnessarebeneficialfora
person’shealthandreiteratedtheneedforexerciseasakeycomponentfordiseasepreventionandhealthierliving.
Thebestwaytodetermineexerciseintensityistomonitoryourpulserate.Yourhe
artratecaneasilybedeterminedbycountingthenumber
ofheartbeatsperminuteatthechest,wristorthecarotidarteryonyourneck.Itisdifficulthowevertocountyourownpulsewhileexercising

UsingtheWirelessHeartRateReceiver
Ingeneral,awirelessheartratecheststrapisthemostaccurateandconvenientmethodofdetectingandmonitoringaheartratesignalandis
aconsiderableupgradefromthetouchtypeheartratesensors.Occasionally,certainfactorscannegativelyaffecttheaccuratetransmissionof
theheartratesignal.WiFinetworks,cordlesstelephonesandlargeelectricalappliancesmaydegradeorcorruptthesignalsothattherate
appearserraticorimpossiblyhigh.Theonlyremedyforsuchasymptomistoisolatetheunitfrompotentialdisturbances.Additionally,a
person’sbodychemistryorlackofperspiration canpreventthecheststrapfromprovidingastrongoraccurateheartratesignal

CalculatedMaximumHeartRate&TargetTrainingZone
Yourtargetheartratedependsprimarilyuponyourage.Itisimportanttoworkwithina
safeandproductivezone,foriftheexerciseintensityistoolowortoohigh,onlymodest
gainswillbemadeinstrengthandcardiovascularfitness.Aworkoutataverylowintensity
willnotoffermaximumbenefits.Conversely,iftheworkoutintensityistoohigh,injuryor
fatiguemayslowtheprogressionofyourexercisegoalsasthebodyattemptstorecover.
Note: Itismosteffectivetotrainataheartratebetween60%and85%ofyour
maximumheartrate.Maximumheartrateiscalculatedasapercentage
ofyourmaximumheartrate(estimatedas220BPMminusyourage).
Tocalculateyourmaximumheartrateandfindtheappropriatetargettrainingzone,usethe
followingformulas.Thefollowingestimationwouldberelevantfora35yearolduser:

Basedonthesecalculations,therecommendedheartratetrainingzoneforthisuserwouldbebetween111BPMand157BPM.Thegraph
abovedisplaystherecommendedheartratetrainingzoneforuserstwentyyearsofagetoseventyfive yearsofage.
WORKOUTQUALITYANDQUANTITY
Itisrecommendedthatyouaccumulateatleastthirty(30)minutesofphysicalactivitymostdaysoftheweek.TheAmericanCollegeofSports
Medicinemakesthefollowingrecommendationsforthequantityandqualityoftrainingfordevelopingandmaintainingcardiorespiratory
fitnessinhealthyadults:
Anactivitythatuseslargemusclegroups,maint
ainedcontinuously,andisrhythmicalandaerobicinnature.
Duration: 20to60minutesofcontinuousaerobicactivity,includingawarmupandcooldownperiodforeachsession.
Frequency: 3to5timesperweek.
Intensity: 60%to85%ofmaximumheartrate.
Inadditiontoaerobicexerc
ise,strengthtrainingofmoderateintensitytwiceperweekisrecommended.Womenespeciallymaybenefitfrom
weightbearingexercises.Selectactivitiesyouenjoyandcanfitintodailylife.HavingDiamondbackFitnessequipmentathomeoffersyouthe
opportunitytoworkoutwithoutgoingtothegym.
GetaSmartStartonExercising
Anyoneovertheageof35,aswellasyoungerpersonswhomareoverweight,shouldcheckwithhis/herphysicianbeforecommencingan
exerciseprogram.Personswhohavediabetesorhighbloodpressure,afamilyhistoryofheartdisease,highcholesterolorhaveledsedentary
lifestylesshouldprotectthemselveswithamedicalcheckupandstresstestadministeredbyahealthcareprofessional.
Stretchingandmassagingmajormuscles(suchasyourquadriceps)followingaworkoutsession willaidinthedissipationoflactic
acidandspeedyourbody’srecovery.
Thefirstfewminutesofyourworkoutshouldbedevotedtowarmingupthemusclesbeforeavigorousworkout.Concentrateon
raisingyourheartrateslowly.
Afteranaerobicworkoutofroughly2030minutes,spend10minutesgraduallyreducingyourheartratebymovingslowerorwith
lessresistance.

Whentheuser’sheartratesignalisdetectedviatheheartratesensorson
thefixedhandlebarorawirelesstransmitter(suchasacheststrap)theheart
andDBsymbolswillflashandtheuser’scurrentheartratewillbedisplayed.
Iftheuser’sheartratesignalisnotdetected,NoSignalw

giventime.Eachverticalcolumnrepresentsatimeintervaldeterminedbythetotallength
oftheprogram.Eachcolumnwillequal1/40

ofthetotalprogramlength.Forexample,if
theprogramlengthis30minutes,eachcolumnwillequal45seconds.TheMatrixDisplay
willalsoprovidemessagingandfeedbackduringthesetupmodes.

DistancewillbedisplayedineitherMilesorKilometers,dependingupontheselectionmadeintheconsolesetupmode
(seesectiontitledEnglishUnitModeandMetricUnitMode).Thedistancecalculationisanestimationbaseduponthe
user’sRPM.
Calories
TheCaloriesfieldtrackstheestimatednumberofcaloriesburnedfromthebeginningoftheprogramandisaderivative
oftheWattsgenerated,theuser’sRPMandtheresistancelevel.
Speed
SpeedisdisplayedasMilesperHourorKilometersperHour(dependinguponthecurrentconsole
setting)andisbasedupontherevolutionsperminutes(RPM).
