Introduction
The 802.11b USB Wireless Adapter allows your PC to quickly and
conveniently access a wireless LAN network. A wireless LAN links
network devices to a LAN without the hassle of cabling or wiring, which
allows users the freedom of staying connected to the network, even when
roaming a building. You can even roam between buildings while still
maintaining access to the Internet, e-mail, networking applications, and
print services.
This device is the perfect solution for your wireless networking needs,
providing IEEE 802.11b compliance with data rates reaching 11 Mbps.
The Wireless USB Adapter is a high-speed wireless network device that
plugs into your notebook or desktop PC and can access your LAN or
simply operate in a peer-to-peer networking environment. Whether you’re
at your office or in the boardroom, you can easily transport your system
while still being able to easily interface to your printers, file servers, and
other network resources.
The USB adapter is designed for a USB type A port on a laptop or desktop
computer.

Device Description
The Wireless USB Adapter’s form and function are easy to understand
and easy to configure. This device comes with front panel LED
indicators and an RF Antenna. The back panel will include a single
USB type B (square) connector for the USB cable.
LED Indicator Descriptions
Rx (receive) Flickers green when receiving data.
Tx (transmit) Flickers green when transmitting data.
Power: Green light indicates device is powered on.

Hardware Installation
Hardware configuration is simply using the USB cable to make a
connection between the USB Adapter and your computer.
1. Plug the square end (Type B) of the USB cable into the adapter's USB
port.
2. Plug the rectangular end (Type A) of the USB cable into the PC's
USB port.
After installing the Wireless USB Adapter, follow the instructions in the
sections below to install the adapter’s software according to the operating
system that resides on your PC. Note that the instructions may vary
slightly according to the exact version of the operating system installed.
For Windows 98SE
For Windows 98SE users: Have your operating system CD-ROM on
hand. You may be asked to insert the OS CD-ROM to allow the system
to download specific drivers.
Once your system detects the new device, it will automatically bring up
the hardware installation program. Follow the steps on the subsequent
pages to complete the installation.

1. In Add New Hardware Wizard, click Next.
2. Select Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended).
Click Next.

3. Insert the installation CD-ROM that came with your device into the
CD-ROM drive. Select Specify a location: and click Browse and
enter the appropriate path (e.g. E:\Win9xMe). Click Next.
4. Click Next. Windows will copy all the necessary files to your system.

5. If requested, insert the Windows 98SE CD-ROM, and then click OK.
6. Click Finish to complete the installation.
7. When Windows prompts you to restart your computer, click Yes.

For Windows ME
Once your system detects the new device, it will automatically bring up
the hardware installation program. Follow the steps below to complete the
installation.
1. Select Specify the location of the driver (Advanced), click Next.
2. Insert the installation CD-ROM that came with your device into the
CD-ROM drive. Select Search for the best driver for your device
(Recommended) and click Browse to provide the appropriate path
(e.g. E:\Win9xMe). Click Next.

driver for my device (recommended).
3. Insert the device driver CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Select
Specify a location.

Once the device is connected to your computer, Windows XP will
automatically detect the new device. Follow the instructions below to
complete the installation.
1. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click
Next.

Include this location in the search: and click Browse to provide the
appropriate path (e.g. E:\Win2kXP). Click Next.
