Rotel RP-820 is a belt-drive semi-automatic stereo turntable designed to deliver high-quality sound and top-notch performance. It features a 4-pole hysteresis synchronous motor for stable rotation, and a belt-drive system for reduced vibration and noise. The turntable supports 33-1/3 and 45 rpm playback speeds, and has a wow and flutter of less than 0.05% (WRMS).

The tonearm of the RP-820 is a static-balanced straight pipe arm with an oil-damped cueing device, a direct-readout stylus gauge counterweight, and an anti-skating device. It has an overhang of 16mm and a tracking error of +2.5° to -1.5°. The suitable cartridge weight range is 4g to 8g, and the suitable stylus pressure range is 1.5g to 3g.
