IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Before using this appliance, read through all the instructions
and only use accordingly.
2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance..
3. The appliance is intended only for use indoors, not for
outdoor use or commercial use.
4. Only operate the appliance when it is in an upright position
on a flat, stable dry surface.
5. Unwind the power cord completely. Ensure that no objects
are resting on the power cord or can come in contact with hot
parts. Do not locate the power cord under carpets or rugs.
6. Do not use an extension cord, a multi-way connector or a
continuously variable speed controller.
7. Connect the appliance to a single-phase power socket only,
with the voltage as stated on the type plate of the appliance.
8. Always switch the appliance off and disconnect the power
plug from the socket when not in use, or before you clean it.
Do not tug at the power cord to pull the plug out. Only handle
the appliance with dry hands.
9. Do not use the appliance anywhere near easily flammable
gases or substances such as solvents, lacquers, glues, etc.
Some of the internal parts can be hot and could throw sparks.
10. Do not position the appliance immediately below a power
socket.
11. Do not use the appliance in the immediate surroundings of a
bath, shower or swimming pool.
12. Do not use the appliance in any kind of vehicle (e.g.
portacabins, lifts or caravans) or similar small enclosed spaces
without regular supervision.
13. Keep flammable materials at least 100cm away from the
heater. To prevent burns, do not allow bare skin to come in
contact with hot surfaces.
14. Always use the handle to transport / move the appliance.
15. Do not cover the appliance with anything, as indicated by
the symbol
. This can lead to overheating, fire or electric
shocks. Ensure that the air intake and outlet vents are not
obstructed.
16. Do not use this appliance or the power cord if it is damaged
or shows signs of damage, if it has fallen over, or does
not function properly. Repairs must be carried out by
manufacturer-approved service centres.
17. Although it is normal for the power plug to feel warm to the
touch, a loose connection between power socket and power
plug can cause overheating and faults in the socket. Contact
a qualified electrician to get a loose or worn out socket
replaced.
18. This appliance is equipped with a tip over switch safety
feature which automatically shuts off the heating element if
the appliance is not in an upright position. Heat will resume
once the appliance is properly righted.
19. Do not use this appliance with a programmed timer or any
other device that switches the heater on automatically as
a fire risk exists if the appliance is covered or incorrectly
positioned.
20. If the supply cord is damaged, the manufacturer, their service
agent or a similarly qualified person should replace it to avoid
a hazard.
21. CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent
resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not
be supplied through an external switching device, such as a
timer, or be connected to a circuit that is regularly switched
on and off by the utility.
