Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or
snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or
any other accessory. Pinching or snagging
causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory
which in turn causes the uncontrolled power
tool to be forced in the direction opposite of the
accessory’s rotation at the point of the binding.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is snagged
or pinched by the workpiece, the edge of the
wheel that is entering into the pinch point can
dig into the surface of the material causing the
wheel to climb out or kickout. The wheel may
either jump toward or away from the operator,
depending on direction of the wheels
movement at the point of pinching. Abrasive
wheels may also break under these conditions.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse
and/or incorrect operating procedures or
conditions and can be avoided by taking proper
precautions as given below.

Your risk from these exposures varies,

work with approved safety equipment, such as
those dust masks that are specially designed

The tool is switched ONby the switch button
located at the side of the motor housing. The
switch can be locked in the “ON” position, a
convenience for long grinding operations.
TO TURN THE TOOL “ON” without locking it,
slide the switch button forward by applying

button will snap to “OFF” position.
TO LOCK THE SWITCH “ON”, slide the switch

TO UNLOCK THE SWITCH, simply press and
release the REAR portion of the button.
Switch is spring loaded and will snap back
automatically.

Always hold the tool away from your face.
Accessories can be damaged during handling,
and can fly apart as they come up to speed.
This is not common, but it does happen.
Start the tool before applying to work and let
the tool come to full speed before contacting
the workpiece. Lift the tool from the work
before releasing the switch. DO NOT turn the
switch “ON” and “OFF” while the tool is under
load; this will greatly decrease the switch life.

Practice on scrap materials first to see how the
tool performs. Keep in mind that the work is
done by the speed of the tool and by the
accessory in the collet. You should not lean on
or push the tool during use.
Instead, lower the spinning accessory lightly to
the work and allow it to touch the point at which
you want grinding to begin. Con centrate on
guiding the tool over the work using very little
pressure from your hand. Allow the accessory
to do the work.
Usually, it is best to make a series of passes
with the tool rather than attempt to do all the

If the indicator lights are “OFF”, the charger is

If the red indicator light is “ON”,
the battery pack is too hot or cold
for fast-charging. The charger will
automatically switch to fast-charging once a

If the red indicator light is
BLINKING, the battery pack
cannot accept a charge or the
contacts of the charger or battery pack are

charger or battery pack only as directed in
these operating instructions or those supplied

complete. The battery pack is fully charged and

The battery pack may be used even though the

The purpose of the green light is to indicate that
the battery pack is fast-charging. It does not

mean the battery pack is too hot or too cold.
Fast charging is only possible when the

Check to make sure the battery pack is

Clean the contacts of the charger or battery
