2. Satety Instructions
for external vibrators electric drive
2.1 General instructions
2.1.1 External vibrators may only be operated by persons who
are at least 18 years of age
are physically and mentally fit for this job
have been instructed in operating external vibrators and proved their
ability for the job to the employer
may be expected to carry out the job they are charged with carefully.
The persons must be assigned the job of operating external vibrators
by the employer.
2.1.2 External vibrators may only be operated if the manufacturer’s
operating instructions and these safety instructions are observed.
2.1.3 The accident prevention regulations of the employer’s liability
insurance association for electrical plant and equipment are to be
observed and used as a basis for all work with this machine.
2.1.4 The persons entrusted with the operation of external vibrators are to
be familiarized with the necessary safety precautions relating to the
machine. In the case of unusual applications the contractor must
compile and issue the necessary additonal instructions.
2.1.5 With external vibrators mounted on shuttering, moulds or similar, the
admissible assessment sound level of 89 dB (A) may possibly be
exceeded. In line with the accident prevention regulations on noise,
personal noise protection equipment is to be worn by the employees
in the event of assessment sound levels of 89 dB (A) and more.

2.1 Operation
2.1.1 It must be ensured that the external vibrators with electric drives are
only connected to the voltage and frequency specified on the
nameplate. Choose correct cross section for extension cord. See
calculation example and diagram included in this manual.
2.1.2 The frequency converters used have to be in compliance with German
standard VDE 530. In case of voltages exceeding 42 Volt protective
breakers (-) have to be provided. For use on building sites the
frequency converters have to be provided with a separate feeding
point which contains a current-operated earth-leakage protective
switch.
2.1.3 Vibrators which are operated at a safe volate of 42 Volt are in
compliance with safety class lll. Vibrators with high operating voltages
are in compliance with safety class l (earthing conductor).
2.1.4 If external vibrators are mounted on soft forms or in a lose condition
only, overload could cause damage to the motor. By using a motor-
protection circuit breaker this is avoided.
2.1.5 During work breaks or when the external vibrator is left on its own, the
machine is to be switched off and positioned so that it is impossible for
it to inadvertently roll away or fall.
2.1.6 The power supply cable of the external vibrator must not be used to
pull the plug out of the socket.
2.1.7 Electric equipment and material may only be used if they comply with
the operational and local safety requirements. They must be in proper
condition and this condition is to be maintained.
2.1.8 Electrical plant and equipment may only be used if they satisfy the
operational and local safety requirements. They must be in perfect
working order and are to be kept in this condition.
2.1.9 It isforbiddento operateexternal vibrators inhazardous environments.

2.1 Safety checks
2.1.1 The functionability of the control and safety facilities is to be checked
before work is commenced.
2.1.2 Roughly 3 hours after initial commissioning or repair work,
subsequently at regular intervals, check that all external threaded
fasteners, especially the attachment screws for the baseplates and the
key connection, are tight and retighten, if necessary.
2.1.3 Immediately inform your superior should damages be determined at
the safety devices or other damages which could impair the safe
operation of the external vibrator.
2.1.4 In caseof defects jeopardizingthe operational safetyof the converters,
the machine has to be switched off immediately.
2.1 Maintenance
2.1.1 Only use original spare parts. Modifications to this machine, are
subject to the express approval of Wacker. In case of nonobservance
all liabilities shall be refused.
2.1.2 The external vibrator is to be disconnected from the mains supply
during maintenance and repair works.
2.1.3 Work on the electric parts of the machines may only be carried out by
skilled technicians.
2.1.4 The green / yellow protective earth conductor of the connection cable
must be longer so that it does not become detached if the strain relief
clamp fails. There is a danger to life and limb if this connection is
broken. After repair work, check protective earth conductor for
continuity. The protective earth conductor is dispensed with on totally
insulated machines and equipment with protective potential.
2.1.5 As soon as maintenance and repair jobs have been completed, all
safety devices have to be reinstalled properly.

2.1 Transport
2.1.1 On transport vehicles external vibrators are to be secured against
rolling off, slipping or tipping over.
2.1 Maintenance checks
2.1.1 Depending on the basis of the mode of operation and the site
conditions, the operational safety of external vibrators is to be checked
as and when required but at least once every 6 months by a specialist,
e.g. at a WACKER customer service station, and if necessary, the
vibrator is to be repaired.
Please also observe the corresponding rules and regulations valid in your
country.

4. Description
4.1 Operating range
To be used in pre-cast concrete factories for the vibration of forms of
all kinds as well as for installation on vibrating tables, vibrating blocks,
and machines. In building constructionand civil engineering tobe used
as form vibrators in all pre-cast concrete factories to fit planks, plates,
etc.
4.2 Description of function
In order to be able to mount the external vibrator to the from, resp.
mould, a faced steel plate of approx. 12 mm thickness has to be
attached to the respective mounting point, to which the external
vibrator is affixed by means of four screws M10-8.8 (see assembly
instructions).
4.3 Note
The form, resp. mould material has to have perfect connections and
closures, which might have to be reinforced for the best possible
transmission of vibration, otherwise increased current consumption or
mechanical damage may result from overload of the external vibrator.
4.4 Connection
Prior to connection please check:
The voltage and frequency used has to correspond to the data shown
on the rating plate.
The external vibrator (see technical specifications) is connected
directly to the mainspowersupply (in accordancewith the nameplate).

4.5 Adjustment of centrifugal force
For the versatile requirements, the centrifugal force of the external
vibrator can be adjusted in compliance with the technical data. Take
care that the nuts are tightened again after adjustment.

The flywheels of this device consist of several
3 mm discs which are attached to the shaft all in
the same direction or at an angle of 180
o
to each
other. Hence, the centrifugal forces can be
adjusted in several different ways.
By removing individual flywheel discs
By turning individual flywheel discs
If the maximum centrifugal force is not required, proceed according to
item 1 to obtain a low flywheel effect, and thus short starting and
slowing-down times.
