UsingtheJack
Usethejacktoraisethefrontendofthemowertoallowyou
tocleanunderthemowerdeckorchangetheblades.
WARNING
Themowercouldfallontosomeoneandcause
seriousinjuryordeath.
•Readandunderstandthe
Operator’ s Man ual
beforeperformingmaintenance.
•Alwaysturntheengineoff,settheparking
brake,andremovethekeybeforeperforming
anymaintenancetothemower.
•Donotkeepthemowerraisedusingthejackfor
extendedperiodsoftime.
•Alwaysusethejackonalevelsurface.
•Ensurethejackissecuredproperlytothemount
usingthejackpin.
•Thisjackisintendedforusewiththemoweras
describedinthisinstructionsheet.Otheruses
maycauseunseendamageorfailureofthejack.
•Donotrelysolelyonthejackforsupport.Use
adequatejackstandsorequivalentsupport.
•Donotmountordismountthemowerwhilethe
jackisraised.
•Priortoeachuse,inspectthejackandmount
kitforproperworkingfunctionandnovisible
signsofdamage.
Note:Onlyuse(an)approvedjack(s)ratedat907kg(2,000
lb)orhigherliftcapacitywiththejackmount.
1.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch(PTO),movethe
motion-controlleverstotheNEUTRAL-LOCKposition,
andsettheparkingbrake.
2.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostopbeforeleavingtheoperating
position.
3.Raisethemowerdecktothetransportposition.
4.Insertthejacktubeontothejackmount,alignthe
mountingholes,andsecurethejackwiththejackpin
(Figure2).
5.Rotatethehandleoradapteronthejacktoraisethe
moweruntilthejackisatthedesiredheight.Donot
over-extendthejack.
WARNING
Raisingthemowercouldcausefuelleakage.
•Checkforanyfuelleakagebefore
performingmaintenance.
•Ifleakageoccurs,immediatelylower
moweranddrainfueltoeliminatethe
hazard.
6.Lowerthemowerontojackstandsoranequivalent
support.
7.Performthemaintenance.
8.Whenthemaintenanceiscompleted,removethejack
standsorequivalentsupport.
9.Rotatethehandleoradapteronthejacktolowerthe
mower.
10.Removeandstorethejack(Figure2).
Note:Themowerisnotdesignedtostorethejack
whenitisnotbeingused.Donotdrivethemower
withthejackinstalled.
