Connecting BOSS TONE STUDIO
(Overview)
Heres how to connect your mobile device with
Pocket GT via Bluetooth.
1. Pair the two devices.
Use the settings of your mobile device to
connect it to the POCKET-GT Audio.

Connecting the Mobile Device
(Android) to the Pocket GT Unit
Pairing Your Mobile Device with
the Pocket GT (Bluetooth® Audio)
MEMO
If you’re using an already-paired mobile device, this
step is not necessary.
1. Power-on the Pocket GT unit and the
mobile device.
2. Long-press the Pocket GT’s [Bluetooth]
button (three seconds or longer).
The decimal point in the lower right of
the display blinks rapidly.

3. In your mobile device’s settings, turn
Bluetooth on.
NOTE
Even if the Available devices” list shows
“POCKET-GT MIDI, don’t tap it.
4. In the Bluetooth screen of your mobile
device, tap “POCKET-GT Audio.
Your mobile device is paired with this unit.
At this time, the decimal point in the lower
right of the Pocket GT’s display changes from
blinking to lit.

5 When your mobile device is wirelessly connected
via Bluetooth with this unit, audio played back by
your mobile device can be heard from this unit.
5 You can remotely control the audio player app
of your mobile device by using this unit’s [

Connecting BOSS TONE STUDIO
and the Pocket GT
1. Start the “BOSS TONE STUDIO” app that
you installed in your mobile device.
2. Tap [Bluetooth MIDI DEVICE] that
appears in the screen.
Set location data to on.
* Note that the BTS does not use location data.
3. Tap “POCKET-GT MIDI.
Verify that “*” is shown at the upper right of
POCKET-GT MIDI.
* If “POCKET-GT MIDI” is not shown, tap “SCAN”
at the very bottom of the Bluetooth Devices
screen, and search again.

4. Tap the Android back” button to return
to the previous screen.
5. Verify that “POCKET-GT MIDI” is shown
for “CONNECT.
6. Tap [OK] to start communication.

Pair once again
As described in “Close all apps on your
mobile device, and perform pairing once
again” (p. 11), close all currently-running
apps on your mobile device, and then pair
once again.
Reset the unit
to the factory
settings
Return the Pocket GT to the factory
settings, and then performing pairing once
again.
1. While holding down the [SELECT]
button and the [
y
] button, turn on
the power.
At this time, hold down the buttons until
the display indicates “FA. When the display
indicates “01. (the dot in the lower right
blinks), the unit is returned to the factory
settings.
NOTE
This operation erases data such as user
memories.
Turn the power
o and on
again
As described in “Turn the power of your
mobile device and the Pocket GT unit
o and then on again” (p. 12), perform
pairing once again.
If you are still unable to connect even after checking all of the above
points, contact a Roland customer service center.

Close all apps on your mobile device,
and perform pairing once again
Close all currently-running apps on your mobile
device.
1. Tap Android’s multitask button, and
swipe the app screen upward.
* The operation for closing an app will dier
depending on the mobile device that you’re
using. Close the app using the appropriate
operation for your mobile device.
2. Cancel pairing (p.13).
3. Once again perform “Pairing Your
Mobile Device with the Pocket GT
(Bluetooth® Audio)” (p. 4) from the
beginning.

Turn the power of your mobile device
and the Pocket GT unit o and then on
again
1. Power-o your mobile device and the
Pocket GT unit.
2. Wait at least ten seconds, and then turn
the power on again.
3. Cancel pairing (p.13).
4. Once again perform “Pairing Your
Mobile Device with the Pocket GT
(Bluetooth® Audio)” (p. 4) from the
beginning.
If you are still unable to connect with the app even
after taking these measures, please contact the
Roland customer service center.

and tap “Unpair.

1. Start the “BOSS TONE STUDIO” app that
you installed in your mobile device.
2. Tap [Bluetooth MIDI DEVICE] that
