Flashing
- How to flash your BB5 phones?
If your phones software is installed by Phoenix data package to phoenix directory please tick Phoenix checkbox first.
1.) Select corresponding model, desired version, from listboxes.
2.) From Product code listbox you can select the language pack you wish to flash to your phone.
MCU, PPM, UCP files will be automatically selected.
Options for flashing:
USB flashing: Tick this checkbox if you connecting your phone through USB cable
Dead USB: If your phone doesn’t power-on, and you want flash it anyway over USB you should check it. (Not all models support this!)
Enable High Speed Flash: This option will enable 7,5M speed. It is checked by default, but if you get problems, uncheck it.
Enable downgrade: Nokia BB5 models are not supporting firmware downgrade. If you want downgrade it anyway, check it.
Skip flash erase: Tick this option only, if you erased the flash before, or you are uploading the same software version to the phone.
Save certificates before flash: Tick this checkbox if you want save certificates like NPC, sim-lock data before flashing. It is necessary,
because these certificates are unique at each BB5 phones.
After flash processing settings:
Set Default: Full factory is enabled automatically! Pay attention to this setting!
- If you want to delete your phone settings and saved data (contacts, pictures) leave this checkbox selected. Otherwise unselect it!
Unlock: Click on this checkbox if you want to unlock your handset after flashing.
- (Check your local laws, in some countries this operation is illegal!)
Upload pm: Select this, if your phone has network problems. Permanent memory has values regarding this, and also other data also, so
always make a backup of your phonebook before doing this operation.
Self test: You can diagnose your phone.
Set product code: You can modify the phones product code to the flashed one.
Reset warranty: You can reset your warranty menu to factory defaults. (IMEI, call data, repaired, …)
Reset life timer: Set to 0 your total talk time.
Erase maintenance:
Flash size: Select flash IC size. You can choice 256M if you don’t know exactly the whole size.
PM size: You can select the PM size here. It is 128k by default.
