Aluminium baking sheet
The baking sheet should be placed on a wire
shelf. This is useful for cooking pastries, tarts,
pizzas, etc.
Grill pan + grill pan trivet
(drip pan)
Insert the trivet onto one of the shelf positions.
Then slide the grill pan underneath. This pan cat-
ches cooking juices and fat from grilled food. It can
also be used half filled with water as a double boiler.
Joints should not be cooked in this tray uncovered
because fat could spit all over the oven sides.

Anti-tip wire shelf
Food can either be placed on the shelf in a
dish or cake tin for cooking or browning.
The curved anti-tip wire shelf
This is used in the same way as the flat shelf.
Its shape has been carefully designed to enable
you to position your dish between two runner levels.

• Slide one of the forks onto the spit; put the piece of meat to be roasted onto the spit ;
slide on the second fork ; centre and tighten the two forks.
• Place the cradle on the middle shelf and position with the ”v” shape at the front.
• To help insert the spit, the handle can be screwed onto the blunt end.
• Rest the spit onto the cradle with the pointed end towards the back and gently push until
the tip of the spit enters the turning mechanism at the back of the oven. The blunt end of
the spit must rest on the “v” shape. (The spit has two lugs which should be nearest to the
oven door so to stop the spit going forward, the lugs also act as a grip for the handle.)
• Before cooking unscrew the handle. After cooking screw the handle back on to help re-
move the spit from the cradle.
• The other end of the handle has a “flower shape” which can be used to the forks.
Rotisserie
To use it:
• Place the grill pan (no trivet) at level n°1 to col-
lect the cooking juices or on the bottom of the
oven if the piece of meat to be roasted is too big.
• Parboiled potatoes and vegetables can be placed
around the edge of the grill pan to roast at the same
time.

the “STOP” button twice.
Safety recommendations
Please read these instructions before installing and using your oven.
The oven has been designed for domestic use only for cooking food. No asbestos
has been used in its construction.
USING FOR THE FIRST TIME:
Before you use your oven for the first time, take all the shelves etc out and with
the door closed, select the fan function at 230°C under “Chef” mode heat for 45
minutes. This “burns the oven off”. During this time there may be some smell from
the mineral wool that insulates the oven and there could be some smoke. This is
perfectly normal.
NORMAL USE:
- Always close the door properly. The oven is fitted with a seal designed to
work with a closed door.
- Never lean or let anyone sit on the oven door when it is open.
- When using the grill with the door partly open, and during
pyrolysis, the accessible parts or surfaces can get hot.
Aways keep children at a safe distance.
- The oven door and surrounding areas can become hot during
pyrolysis and also when using the “Chef” mode, double or single grill
(Biogrill) on power level 4 when the door is left ajar (it can be closed
reducing the hot areas when the power is reduced to level 3, 2, or 1.)
- Always protect your hands with oven gloves or something similar when
removing food, accessories or containers from the oven.
- Do not use a steam cleaner or high-pressure cleaner
- Do not line your oven or grill pan with foil. The metal will increase the heat
produced and could ruin the food and damage the enamel.
Always check that the oven is off before you clean the inside.
Before cleaning the oven by pyrolysis, remove all dishes, pans, etc, and
remove any considerable spillage.
HINTS AND TIPS
• Keep all oven shelves etc out of the oven when not in use to allow maximum use of
the oven and to keep them clean.
• When using the “Chef” mode and the conventional, eco conventional, combined
functions or when using any of the “Cooking guide” or I.C.S. recipes nev
er place
dishes, trays grill pans on the base of the oven. There is an element located under
the base of the enamel which could be damaged if anything is placed on the base.

Before connecting your oven, make sure you are using the
correct size cable.
Use a 16-amp fuse.
The electrical connections are made before the oven is installed in its housing.
• The oven must be connected using an approved 3-core cable (live, neutral and
earth) with 1.5 mm square conductors. This should be connected via a 3- pin-
socket (live, neutral, and earth to the main supply which should be should be a
220-240V, alternating single-phase current. If the oven is not connected using a
plug and socket, it must be connected to a multi-pole switch with a minimum gap
of 3 mm between contacts. The earth wire (green and yellow) should be
connected to the terminal marked with the earth symbol on the appliance and
to the earth in the switch.
• Where the oven is connected using a separate plug and socket this must be
accessible after the oven has been installed.
•The neutral wire (blue) of the oven must be connected to the neutral in the main
supply.

• The supply cable (H05 RR-F, H05 RN-F or H05 W-F) must be long enough to allow
the oven to rest on the floor in front of its housing.
With the oven sitting on the floor and disconnected:
• Open the trapdoor at the bottom right hand side at the back of the oven by re-
moving the 2 screws and swinging the door away.
• Remove the sheath from each wire in the new cable up to 12 mm.
• Twist the ends carefully together.
• Unscrew the terminal screws and remove the wires that need changing.
• Pass the new cable through the wire clamp to the right of the terminals.
• Connect the wires up in accordance with the markings on the terminals.
• Make sure all wires are trapped under the screws.
• The brown wire (live) going to terminal marked L.
• The green and yellow wire (earth) going to the one marked .
• The blue wire (neutral) going to the terminal marked N.
Tighten the screws and check, by tugging on each wire, that they are firmly connected.
• Tighten the clamp to hold the cable.
• Close the trapdoor using the two screws.

How to install your oven
If you are unsure about fitting this oven yourself please use a
qualified electrician.
DIMENSIONS FOR INSTALLATION USE
The oven may be housed either under a work surface or built into a
column that is open* or closed with a suitable opening.
Your oven works at its best and produces excellent results when cooking and clea-
ning itself, if its air circulation is not compromised:
• The oven must be centred in the unit so that there is a minimum distance of
5 mm between it and the surrounding unit.
• The housing unit or its outer surface must be capable of withstanding heat.
• To ensure the oven rests firmly in the housing, screw it to the housing unit using
the holes on the side uprights provided (see diagram).
To do this:
1) Remove the rubber stoppers masking the fixing holes.
2) To prevent the housing unit splintering, drill two holes 3 mm in diameter in the wall of the
housing unit opposite the fixing holes.
3) Attach the oven using the two screws.
4) Conceal the hole using the rubber stoppers. (These also help to cushion the
closing of the oven door).
(*) If the housing unit is open at the back, the gap must not be more
than 70 mm.

A heating element is
located around the fan
at the back of the oven.
Oven rapidly reaches the
selected temperature. Some dishes
can start off in the cold oven.
C
onventional ECO
Food is cooked by a top and
bottom element. No fan.
Three sources of heat.The majority
of heat comes from the element loca-
ted under the enamel at the base of
the oven. The fan cooks the food
through & the grill element browns.
Cooking is carried out by the upper
element. When grilling on level 4 the
door must be left ajar but can be
closed on levels 1,2 & 3.
Cooking is carried out by the inner
element (3 loops). When grilling on
level 4 the door must be left ajar but
can be closed on levels 1,2 & 3.
This function combines the effects of the
fan and the grill. The grill directs infrared
heat onto the food and some of the heat
is moved around the oven by the fan.
Pre-heating needed to reach the
required temperature.

COOKING
99625074 GB 2 MATRICIEL.qxd 29/11/04 13:51 Page 54
GB
Suitable for pastries, pizzas, batters biscuits. It is recom-
mended to place on shelf 1 nearest to the base of the oven
to benefit from base heat crisping the base. Not suitable for
roasting or cakes. Do not place any trays, shelves or dishes
on the oven base as there is an element beneath the enamel.
Recommended for all “dry” grilling-toast, cheese on toast,
browning crème brulee or shepherds pie.
Recommended for leaving breads to rise (kee-
ping temperature below 40ºC), keeping dishes
warm and thawing food.
Recommendations
Lower temperature should be used i.e. reduce by approx
15°C-20°C for temps. up to 200°C & reduce by 20°C-30°C for
temps above 200°C. The temperature in the oven is the same
throughout so recommended for batch baking on 2-3 levels &
also for everyday cooking where cooking smells do not mix
i.e. fish & a pudding can be cooked at different levels at the
same temperature. Also recommended to cook lower down in
the oven to prevent splashes unnecessarily going onto the
grill element. Paler results than convection.
NB. All food is cooked without pre-heating the oven.
Energy is saved during cooking but cooking times will be lon-
ger. Do not keep opening the door. Do not place any trays,
shelves or dishes on the oven base as there is an element
beneath the enamel. Ideal for non heat sensitive foods such
as stews, casseroles, pot roasting.
Recommended for all meat grilling with grill pan placed on
middle shelf at a temperature of 200°C with door closed,
food turned over half way through cooking, also rotisserie up
to 2.5 kg & roasting up to 4.5 kg. Succulent results.

Recommended for food requiring long slow cooking such as game,
casseroles, stews. Ideal for rich fruit cakes, jacket potatoes and
foods that require a crisp finish. The temperature set relates to the
middle of the oven with a higher temperature at the top & a cooler
temperature below so, ideal for foods cooked at the same time that
need different temperatures. Do not place any trays, shelves or dis-
hes on the oven base as there is an element beneath the enamel.

How to use your oven
7. The "Bio-grill+" option
You can access the "Bio-grill+" function by turning the
selector knob until "Bio-grill+" is displayed. This feature
can be used on the Fan, Combined heat and Convection
methods of cooking. It works by the grill element coming
on to brown the food for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
You can access the "Bio-grill+ option" by selecting the
“standard” box and turning the knob until Bio-grill+
appears, press to confirm.
It can be used at any time where no cooking time has been set or if for example a
cooking time of 40 minutes has been set the grill element will come on after 35
minutes for 5 minutes.
This function is shown by the grill symbol flashing on the screen.
8. The memory function
You can store up to three favourite cooking modes/recipes that you have cooked on
“CHEF” using the MEMORY function so you do not need to re-enter the information.
(To obtain the same results the same quantity of ingredients must be used).
This can be done in two ways :
a) You have just selected how to cook one of your favourite dishes and would
like to save the programme that you have just chosen - see also matrix displays
below & on page 57).

or 3 by turning the knob), press to confirm
- “Setting stored” is displayed or it may ask if you
wish to “replace” the last setting, press to confirm
- Display returns the screen returns to OK
- Press OK
- Cooking starts (or may be delayed if you have
chosen a length of cooking time and/or finish time. In this
case the screen will revert back to the time of day with
displaying clock symbol to show delayed start).
b) After cooking, before using the oven again you
can enter the information from the last food you cooked
into the memory. Even after having tasted your dish, it
still isn’t too late to record the cooking mode!

b) The “Cooking guide” function
This function is ideal if you are not sure of how to cook certain types of food. The
"Cooking guide" function selects a suggested temperature, shelf position and
cooking time based on you inputting the type of food
and its weight.
1. Press the selector knob and turn until
"Cooking guide" illuminates, press to confirm.
2. The oven then suggests various types of food. Turn the selector knob to
choose from the various types of food suggested :
· Meat/poultry
· Meat
· Fish
· Light meals
· Cakes
· Tarts/puddings
Once you have made your choice, confirm this by pressing the selector knob.
3. Next, you should choose the specific dish to
be prepared, and confirm your choice by pressing once
again.
4. Once you have selected your dish, the oven asks you to enter its weight
(the box) or the material that your dish is made out of (aluminium, porcelain,
etc.) in the case of cakes, quiches, tarts and vegetables, or the size of the food-
stuff (brioche).
Enter the weight or the material. The oven automati-
cally makes the necessary calculations and will display
the ideal cooking time. If you wish, you can modify
the cooking end time by selecting the (“ ”) box and
displaying the new cooking end time.
As soon as you press on "OK" to confirm, the oven
recommends the oven shelf level on which you should put your dish.

When using this function the display will show all foods having a minimum and
maximum weight and you should use one of the recommended dishes or tins. If the
food you wish to cook is under or over the minimum or maximum weight use the
”Chef” function.
All red meats are cooked using the turbo grill function where the grill element
browns the food and the fan circulates hot air around the oven. Place the grill pan
trivet on the suggested shelf and then place the meat directly onto it and place the
grip pan on 1st shelf level from the base of the oven.(Do not place in a roasting tin).
For all meats start off upside down (except pork so to keep the crackling crisp) &
turn half way during cooking.
Vegetables for roasting can be placed around the edge of the drip pan. Small to
medium cut potatoes need to be parboiled for a few minutes & allowed to drain and
cool. Other vegetables cut to a small to medium size can be placed in the middle.
COOKING WHITE MEATS
Either fan or turbo grill functions are selected. For poultry under 1700g instead of
placing on the grill trivet as above, the “Cooking guide” function suggests using the
rotisserie (see page 45 on how to assemble) with the grill pan on shelf position 1.
Poultry over 1700g uses a traditional function (follow same instructions using grill
pan trivet etc as for red meats.
COOKING CAKES AND TARTS
Cooking can only be done on one level e.g one tray of small cakes or 2x18cm tins
for Victoria sandwich on one shelf.
MEAT/FISH/LIGHT MEALS/TARTS/PUDDINGS
For example lasagne, fish pie, steak & kidney pie, fruit pie are all cooked in 500ml
(1pt) pie dishes or 25cmx20cm dishes and serve 4 people.
