GENERAL AND ELECTRICAL SAFETY
When using electric appliances always observe safety regulations where applicable to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury.
Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.
Only use the kettle for heating water, Only use the base provided with this kettle.
Supply Cord and Plug
Always unplug from mains supply when not in use. Do not abuse or damage the power
cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its
service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
Supervision
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
Water
Do not immerse appliance in water. Do not immerse any part of this appliance or supply
cord in water. Do not use with wet hands or use in damp situations.
Use and Environment
CAUTION: Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane, Do not operate the kettle
unless the element is fully immersed. Do not move while the kettle is switched on.
Do not use outdoors. Do not use directly below a socket outlet.
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
The kettle is only to be used with the stand provided. Use only cold water when
filling the device, the water level must be between the MAX and MIN. marks.
Switch the kettle off before removing it from the base; always ensure that the lid is
tightly closed. The base and exterior of the kettle must not become wet.
The kettle is protected against damage due to operation with insufficient water by
means of a safety cut-out. This cuts off power when the heating element gets too
hot.
If the kettle ever runs dry while operating, first remove the mains plug from the wall
socket, and then pour in sufficient cold water to cool down the heating element The
safety cut-out automatically reset.
Earth Safety
This appliance must be earthed. Only connect to a suitably earthed 220-240V ~ 50Hz
supply socket.
Burns Risk
This Kettle must not be overfilled, as there is a risk of scalding from hot water that may
be ejected. Be careful when moving this kettle when filled with hot water. Do not move
off the base when the kettle is switched on.
WARNING Do not open the lid while water is boiling or while pouring. DO NOT
OVERFILL AS BOILING WATER MAY BE EJECTED. Never use the kettle without the lid
firmly in position.
Damaged or Dropped
Always inspect your appliance before use. Check parts are correctly attached. Do not
use this appliance if it has been damaged, dropped, left outdoors or dropped in water.
Return it to an authorised service dealer for examination and repair.

Special Safety Instructions
Use only cold water when filling the device.
The water level must be between the MAX. and MIN. marks.
Switch the kettle off before removing it from the base.
Always ensure that the lid is tightly closed.
The base and exterior of the kettle must not become wet.
Do not use the Kettle or base with any other appliances.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Before using for the first time, fill the kettle to the maximum level (Do not overfill) with cold tap
water; bring to the boil and then discard (this may need repeating more than once). Wipe the
outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the kettle in any liquid. Do not use
detergent to clean the inside of the kettle
OPERATION
Place the kettle base on a flat level surface. Do not operate on an inclined surface.
Connect to a suitable power supply of 220-240~V AC 50Hz.
The kettle must be filled with water BEFORE attaching to the base. To fill, open the lid by
pushing the lid opening button in and fill with clean cold water through the top. The water level
must be between the MIN & MAX marks as shown on the external water level gauge. Close the
lid.
CAUTION If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
Place the kettle carefully onto the power base ensuring it is correctly aligned. Switch the power
on by pressing the ON / OFF switch to the “I” position. The control lamp on the water indicator
shows that the water is being boiled.
Do not move the kettle while it is switched on. At the completion of boiling the ON / OFF switch
will automatically turn off. To turn the kettle off before it has boiled, press the ON / OFF switch.
Do not move the kettle on or off the base while it is switched on.
NOTE: When ON/OFF switch is turned off, do not force it into the “I” position as this will
seriously damage the operating mechanism.
WARNING Do not open the lid while water is boiling or while pouring. DO NOT OVERFILL AS
BOILING WATER MAY BE EJECTED.
Remove kettle carefully from base by lifting vertically upwards. Take care when removing kettle
from base. Ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing from base. Carefully pour
water from the kettle through the spout. CAUTION Hot steam may be ejected when pouring or
opening the lid.
IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR KETTLE
NEVER REMOVE THE KETTLE FROM IT'S BASE WHILE IT IS SWITCHED ON.
NEVER PLACE THE KETTLE ON IT'S BASE WHILE IT IS SWITCHED ON.
NEVER ROTATE THE KETTLE ON IT'S BASE WHILE IT IS SWITCHED ON.
NEVER OPERATE THE KETTLE WITH THE LID OPEN
DO NOT OPERATE THE KETTLE UNLESS THE ELEMENT IS FULLY IMMERSED.
THIS KETTLE MUST ONLY BE USED WITH THE STAND PROVIDED.
THE BASE AND EXTERIOR OF THIS KETTLE MUST NOT BECOME WET.
DO NOT USE ALKALINE CLEANING AGENTS, HARSH SOLVENTS OR ABRASIVE
CLEANERS WHEN CLEANING.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE ABOVE PRECAUTIONS MAY VOID ANY WARRANTY
MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance of your appliance will keep it safe and in proper operational order.
Before Cleaning
When not in use or before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.
Cleaning
Regularly clean the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth and dry with a dry towel. Do
not immerse in water. CAUTION To prevent damage to the appliance do not use harsh solvents,
alkaline cleaning agents, abrasive cleansers or scouring agents of any kind when cleaning. Use
a soft cloth and a mild detergent.
Decalcification
Decalcification is the removal of calcium deposits which may form in the interior To get the best
performance from your kettle we recommend decalcifying your unit from time to time.
Frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the kettle. We
suggest use of a commercial descaler. Follow the directions on the descaler package. When the
descaling process is complete, empty the kettle and rinse out several times with clean water
before reusing.
Damage Check
Always check that the appliance is in good working order and that any safety guards and
removable parts are secure. Check the power supply cord and plug regularly for cuts or
damage.
Store in a Safe Place
When not in use store your appliance and all its accessories and instruction manual in a safe
and dry place.
