Warning

When using electrical products, basic safety precautions

should always be followed, including the following:

Safety

Power Source – The product should always be

connected to a power supply only of the type described

in the operating instructions or as marked on the

product.

Periods of Non-use – The power–supply cord of the

product should be unplugged from the outlet when left

unused for a long period of time.

Service And Modication

This product should be serviced by qualied service

personnel when,

• The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged,

• Liquid has been spattered into the unit or it has been

exposed to rain,

• The instrument does not appear to operate normally or

exhibits a marked change in performance.

• The instrument has been dropped or the cabinet has

been damaged.

• Do not attempt to open the piano or make any change

in the circuits or parts of the unit.

Handling And Transport

• Never apply excessive force to the controls, connectors

or other parts of the instrument.

• Always unplug cables by gripping the plug rmly, not

by pulling on the cable.

• Disconnect all cables before moving the instrument.

• Physical shocks caused by dropping, bumping, or

placing heavy objects on the instrument can result in

scratches and/or more serious damage.

• Carefully check the amplier volume control before

starting to play. Excessive volume can cause permanent

hearing loss.

Cleaning

• Clean the cabinet and panel with a soft nonabrasive

dry cloth. This cloth should be for High Gloss Lacquer

Finish Furniture. High Gloss Lacquer Finish Furniture

may be used on the cabinet. Do not use paint thinner

or petrochemical based polishes.

• To maintain the luster of the keys and buttons wipe

with a clean, slightly damp cloth, and then polish with a

soft dry cloth.

Location

• Do not expose the instrument to the following

conditions to avoid deformation, discoloration, or more

serious damage:

• Direct sunlight (near a window)

• High temperatures (near a heat source, outside, or near

a window)

• Excessive humidity

• Excessive dust

• Strong vibration

• Leave enough space around the piano for it to be

properly ventilated.

• This instrument contains digital circuitry and may cause

interference if placed too close to radio or television

receivers. If interference occurs, move the instrument

further away from the aected equipment.

• Avoid placing vinyl objects on top of the instrument,

vinyl can stick to and discolor the surface.

Power

• Turn the power switch o when the instrument is not

in use.

• To avoid damage to the instrument and other devices

to which it is connected, turn the power switches of all

related devices o prior to connection or disconnection

of MIDI cables.

• Turn the power o if the main cable is damaged or the

instrument is spattered with liquid.

• Do not switch the unit on and o in quick succession,

this places an undue load on the electronic

components.

• Unplug the AC power cord during an electrical storm.

• Avoid plugging the AC power cord into the same AC

outlet as appliances with high power consumption,

such as electric heaters or refrigerators.

Taking Care Of Your Digital Piano

This digital piano will supply you with years of musical enjoyment if you follow the simple rules listed

below.

Important Safety Instructions

CONTROL PANEL

1. MASTER VOLUME  Move the fader up to increase master volume. Move it down to

decrease volume.

2. ACCOMP VOLUME  Move the fader up to increase accompaniment volume. Move it down

to decrease volume.

3. TEMPO  Use TEMPO + & - buttons to change the tempo, ranging from 20 to 250 (BPM).

Press both TEMPO + & - buttons at the same time to restore tempo to its default.

4. HARMONY  Add harmonic notes when playing single note on right hand side of the

keyboard.

The harmony type can be selected.

NOTE: This function is available only when auto accompaniment is activated.

5. MULTI  Assign a variety of voices and eects to multiple zones in order to play dierent

voices at the same time.

6. ARPEG  Play and hold any key to get an arpeggiated sound when activated.

7. SYNC START  Press SYNC START button and tempo indicator will start blinking, auto

accompaniment is in a wait state. Play any recognizable chord in auto accomp zone on left

hand side to start the auto accompaniment.

8. START/STOP  Press this button to start or stop the current style playing.

9. INTRO/ENDING  Press this button before a style begins will play an intro which leads to

verse.

Press it during a style will play an ending.

10. FILL IN  Press this button during a style, a bridge bar will be played. Hold the button to

play

the bridge bar repeatedly. After the bridge bar is nished, verse will be played.

11. VARIATION  Each style has its variation (chorus). Style goes to chorus after pressing this

button.

12. ACCOMP  There are 4 ngering patterns: SINGLE, FINGERED, PIANO and OFF.

NOTE: This button can be also used for selecting accompaniment tracks when

recording.

13. VOICE & STYLE CATEGORY 10 shortcuts in total, select desired voice or style with

VOICE/STYLE buttons.

14. METRONOME  Enable the metronome function to help build a good rhythm sensation

when playing.

15. SETUP  Settings and modications for many functions and eects.

16. EDIT  EDIT button is used when setting up some functions: MULTI,

REGISTRATION, SEQUENCE and etc.. Refer to related sections for details.

17. EQUALIZER  Many equalizer settings are available. Select the desired one and save it

after it is modied.

18. USER REG  Combined with REGISTRATION and SEQUENCE saving. Refer to related

section for details

19. NAVIGATION AND +/ buttons - Select and change parameters.

20. TRANSPOSE  Raise or lower all keys by 1 semitone, ranging from -6 to +6.

21. EFFECT  Enable/disable reverb and chorus eects.

22. SONG LEFT/RIGHT  Select the left hand part or right hand part for learning practice

songs.

23. PERCUSSION  Press this button to map all the keys with percussion sets. There are

multiple drum sets to choose from.

24. USER SONG BUTTONS  Save 5 songs in maximum. There are 3 melody tracks and 1

accompaniment track available for recording in each song. Refer to related chapters for

details.

25. DEMO/SONG/CARD  Choose to play from demo songs, practice songs or songs in

memory card.

26. CARD SLOT  Insert memory card here and use DEMO/SONG/CARD button to play from

the card.

CONNECTION PANEL

The connection panel is located on the bottom left of the piano, under the keybed.

1. MIC Microphone Input. Connect a microphone to the piano.

2. PHONES  Headphone Input. Play in total silence, without disturbing others. When

headphones are plugged in, the main speaker system will turn o. Two sets of

headphones may be used simultaneously.

3. AUDIO IN  Audio Input Jacks. These stereo audio input jacks will amplify the supplied

signal through the internal sound delivery system. They can be used to hook up items such

as CD players or MP3 players.

4 . MIDI IN / MIDI OUT  This piano contains MIDI in and MIDI output ports. MIDI jacks allow

communication with other products equipped with MIDI interfaces. Please see the MIDI

section of this manual for further details.

5. USB  The USB connection allows you to connect the piano directly to your computer’s USB

port. This allows you to update your piano’s software if necessary. Do not turn on the piano

with the USB cable connected to the computer to avoid having to restart your computer. It

can connect without driver installation under the Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7,

Windows 8 and MAC OSX environment. The piano will be recognize the USB Audio device

to receive and transmit MIDI messages.

TURN ON THE POWER AND ADJUST VOLUME

Press the Power button. The performance window will appear. Voice number and name will appear on

the display in the right bottom of the screen. Additional information will appear. The piano is ready to

play.

Slide the MASTER VOLUME fader on the left of the control panel to adjust volume.

SONGS

Press the DEMO/SONG/CARD button repeatedly to switch the window to the demo song, teach song or

memory card song.

DEMO song: There are 14 built-in demo songs. In the DEMO SONG window, use

the +/- button to select a demo song.

Play along songs: There are 55 built-in teach songs for practice. On the TEACH

SONG window, use the navigation buttons to select play mode and use the +/-

button to select song. The selected song name will appear in the right of the

window.

Practice with the teach song:

Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select what hand you want to play with.

Use the navigation buttons to select play mode and use the +/- button to select a

song.

After nishing the song, the piano will oer proper evaluation for your playing.

Song built-in Card: In the Memory CARD window, use the +/- button to select

song. Please note that you must insert a memory card with songs in SMF (MIDI le)

format.

Press the PLAY/STOP button to play or stop selected song.

SELECT VOICE

• The piano has 122 selectable voices that are assigned to 10 categories.

• When selecting a voice, the indicator of the VOICE/STYLE button should be o. If not, press the

button to turn it o.

• Press one of the voice category selection button to select a category, then use the +/- button to

select voice within this category.

• The display shows the voice number and name in the right bottom of the screen.

SELECT STYLE

There are two ways to select style. The display shows the style number and name in the right bottom of

the screen.

1. Quick selection: Press the VOICE/STYLE button. The indicator will light up. Press

one of the 10 style quick selection buttons to select.

2. Select one of the 100 styles by +/- buttons.

RHYTHM ACCOMPANIMENT

• Direct start: Press the START/STOP button to start percussion rhythm. Press the button again to

stop it.

• Introduction and ending: Press the INTRO/ENDING button. The rhythm will start to play the

introduction followed by the main part of the style. During the rhythm playing, press the INTRO/

ENDING button to stop with a piece of ending music.

• Fill-in: Press the FILL-IN button. One measure of ll-in will be inserted.

• Variation: Each style has two patterns. Press the VARIATION button to switch pattern variation.

• Tempo: Each style has default tempo. Press the TEMPO +/- button to change the tempo range from

20 – 250. Press both TEMPO +/- buttons simultaneously to reset the default tempo.

• Slide the ACCOMP VOLUME fader to adjust the accompaniment volume.

AUTO CHORD ACCOMPANIMENT

There are 3 auto chord accompaniment ngering modes: Single, Fingered and Piano. Press the ACCOMP

button repeatedly until the corresponding indicator of desired mode lights up.

Synchronized start: When one of the ngering mode is engaged, Press the SYNC START button and the

auto accompaniment is in standby status. The beat indicators will ash. The style will start as soon as you

play on the keyboard.

Note: you must play a recognized chord to start the chord accompaniment.

Single mode: Single ngering mode makes it simple to produce four types of orchestrated

accompaniment chords using a minimum of ngers, while playing in the auto accompaniment section of

the keyboard.

Major Chord: Press any key in the auto accompaniment section of the keyboard.

The key you press determines the root note of the major chord.

Minor Chord: Press the root key and any black key to its left in the auto

accompaniment section of the keyboard simultaneously.

Seventh Chord: Press the root key and any white key to its left in the auto

accompaniment section of the keyboard simultaneously.

Minor-Seventh Chord: Press the root key and any white and black keys to its left

in the auto accompaniment section of the keyboard simultaneously.

Fingered mode: It allows you play the chords in the auto accompaniment section of the keyboard that

produce more chord types. Refer to the list on the following page.

Piano mode: You may play chords anywhere on the keyboard but not limited to the auto

accompaniment section.

The chord type and its root note will be shown in the PERFORMANCE window.

The split point divides the keyboard into 2 sections: The left hand section is for Auto Accompaniment

and the right hand section is for melody playing. The default split key is G2.

Note: In this table, the notes listed in parentheses can be omitted.

The listed chord ngerings are all in root note position, other inversions can be used with the exception

of:

1. The M6 chords are only recognized in root note position. All other inversions are

interpreted as m7.

2. The 6 9 chords are only recognized in root note position. All other inversions are

interpreted as m11.

3. The m6 chords are only recognized in root note position. All other inversions are

interpreted as m7b5.

4. With aug and dim7 chords the lowest note played is assumed to be the root.

5. With 7#11 chords the lowest note played is assumed to be the root or b7.

PERFORMANCE FEATURES

AUTO HARMONY

Press the HARMONY button. When the auto accompaniment is playing, this feature will automatically

add harmonic notes to your playing in the right hand section of the keyboard. There are 4 selectable

types of the Auto Harmony. Please refer to <Setup> section for details.

MULTI TONE WITH ZONE

You can assign 4 zones on the keyboard and assign individual voices for each zone. Each zone can

overlap other zones, therefore, you can play multi tones with exible combinations. The piano has 15

multi-tone presets numbered 1-15 and user can create 5 custom multi-tone settings numbered 16-20.

You can edit the multi-tone setting and save it.

Press the MULTI button. Use the +/- button to select a multi-tone setting. Its

number and name will be shown at the right top of the screen.

You may dene the range of each zone by navigation buttons.

Press the EDIT button to enter the multi-tone edit window. Use the 4 navigation

buttons to select start or end key of zone, then use the +/- buttons to change it.

Press the EXIT button or press the MULTI button again to exit from the editing;

the editing results will be saved automatically. You can reset to the factory default

setting, please refer to <SETUP> section for details.

ARPEG

This feature provides arpeggio based on keys you are pressing. There are 5 preset arpeggio patterns for

your selection. You may edit and save it.

Press the ARPEG button. Use the navigation and +/- buttons to select arpeggio

pattern and edit it.

Press the EXIT button or press the ARPEG button again to exit from the arpeggio

mode; if you made changes, the edited results will be saved automatically. You can

recover the factory default presetting, please refer to <SETUP> section for details.

PANEL CONTROLS

METRONOME

Press the METRONOME button to turn the metronome on or o. You can change metronome settings.

Please refer to <SETUP> section for details.

TRANSPOSE

Press the TRANSPOSE +/- button to set the transpose value ranged -6 to +6 semitones. Press both

TRANSPOSE +/- buttons simultaneously to set the transpose back to zero.

REVERB

Press the REVERB button to turn On/O the reverb eect. You can change level and type of reverb eect.

Please refer to <SETUP> section for details.

CHORUS

Press the CHORUS button to turn On/O the chorus eect. You can change level and type of chorus

eect. Please refer to <SETUP> section for details.

PERCUSSION

Press the PERCUSSION button. All the keys are now transformed into percussion instruments. There are

10 selectable percussion kits. Use the +/- button to select. The number and name of the percussion kit is

shown at the right top of the screen.

SETUP

Press the SETUP button to enter the setup window. Use the navigation or buttons to select the

desired page. Use the navigation

or button to select item in the page and use the +/- button to set

parameter.

MASTER TUNE

The range of the master tuning is -50 to +50 cents. Press both +/- buttons simultaneously to reset the

tuning value to zero.

REVERB, CHORUS EFFECTS TYPE AND LEVEL

Use the navigation or buttons to select an item then use the +/- button to select type and change

the level. The level range is 0 – 127, Press both +/- buttons simultaneously to reset the default level.

SPLIT POINT

Use the +/- button to change the split point for the auto accompaniment.

HARMONY TYPE

Use the navigation or button to select the harmony type.

VELOCITY CURVE

Use the navigation or button to select the velocity curve. The default curve is Normal.

PEDAL FUNCTION

All pedals can be assigned to desired function. The available functions are SUSTAIN, SOFT PEDAL,

SOSTENUTO, START/STOP, VOICE INC., VOICE DEC., TRANS INC. and TRANS DEC.

Use the navigation buttons to select a pedal, then use the +/- button to dene the function.

METRONOME

The time signature, tempo, voice and volume of the metronome can be changed. Use the navigation

or buttons to select a item, then use the +/- button to edit.
