Reading and storing the original instruction manual
This instruction manual accompanies this Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner. It
contains important information on start-up and handling.
For improved readability, the 'Original instruction manual' will be referred
to only as the 'Instruction manual'.
Before using the Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner, read the instruction manual carefully. This
particularly applies for the safety notes. Failure to heed this instruction manual may result
in severe injury or damage to the Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner.
The instruction manual is based on the standards and rules in force in the European
Union. When abroad, you must also observe country-specific guidelines and laws. Store
the instruction manual for future use. If you pass the Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner on to third
parties, please be absolutely sure to include this instruction manual.

Use and storage of the user guide
In terms of the Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner, this instruction manual provides the
information necessary to understand how to safely:
Assemble the wheels & casters to the tank base, and fit the motor unit
onto the metal tank.
Fitting or changing the filters.
Obtaining and fitting the optional (not supplied) paper dirt bag.
Fitting the hose to the suction connector on the metal tank, or the blow
connector on the motor unit.
Fitting the cleaning accessories to the hose.
The intended use, and how to use it for wet or dry spillages, etc.
How to connect 13A power tools to the 13A socket and use the automatic
on/off facility.
How to store it.
Simple maintenance and fault finding.
If necessary, contacting about repairs, spare parts and warranty claims.

Proper Use
This wet and dry vacuum cleaner is designed for wet and dry vacuuming using
the appropriate filter. The equipment is not suitable for the vacuuming of
combustible, explosive or harmful substances.
Although this unit can be used to
vacuum wet spillages, etc., this unit cannot be used as a carpet cleaner (i.e. there is no
function on the unit to spray a cleaning solution onto the carpet and then vacuum it
back off the carpet).
The operating instructions as supplied by the manufacturer must be obeyed to ensure
that the equipment is used properly & the manufacturer cannot be held liable for
damage or injury caused by improper or incorrect usage.
The equipment is to be used only for its prescribed purpose & any use which is not
expressly permitted in these instructions may result in damage to the equipment
and place the user in serious danger.
Be sure to observe the restrictions in the safety
information.
Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial,
trade or industrial applications.
Our warranty will be voided if the equipment is used
in commercial, trade or industrial businesses or for equivalent purposes.
DANGER!
When using for dry dust, etc., never vacuum the following:
Burning materials, smouldering ash and cigarette buts,
combustible, caustic, inflammable or explosive substances,
vapour or liquids. There is a risk of burns injury, or burning
damage to the vacuum cleaner parts. For safety reasons, the
equipment is not allowed to be used as a drive unit for other tools
or products of any kind.
The equipment is allowed to be used only for its intended
purpose. Any other use is deemed to be a case of misuse.
The user/operator and not the manufacturer will be liable
for any damage or injuries of any kind resulting from such
misuse.

Not reading the Instructions and Safety advice in this
User Guide, before using the product.
Damage/Injury caused by not switching the electric
motor off.
Damage/Injury caused by the user pulling the cable, to
remove the 13A plug out of the socket, instead of pulling on
the 13A plug. (Risk of electrocution)
Damage/Injury caused by positioning the hose, accessories
or nozzles to close to adjacent objects, which may then be
sucked into the hose, accessories or nozzles.
The reprinting or reproduction by any other means, in whole or

A safety sign is fitted to the top of the vacuum cleaner's motor
unit cover. This label, along with the safety instructions
on these pages, should be carefully read before attempting
to operate this unit.

When wet vacuuming, the floating safety switch (Fig. 4a -item

) closes when the
maximum tank level is reached. At the same time, the suction noise of the equipment
will change and become louder. You must then switch off the equipment and empty the
metal tank.

Unforeseen static electricity may build up whilst using this vacuum cleaner, which
may pass a static electric shock to the user. There is a piece of chain (Fig. 4b - item
Z
)
on the bottom of the tank base to help prevent static build-up during use

Before using
If you are connecting a power tool to the wet & dry vacuum
cleaner then wearing personal protective gear such as,
safety gloves, non-slip safety shoes, long trousers, snug
fitting clothing, eye protection and ear protection reduces
the risk of injury. If you have long hair, wear a hair net. Never
use a power tool connected with a wet & dry vacuum cleaner
whilst barefoot or in sandals.
Before you connect the equipment to the mains supply make
sure that the data on the rating plate matches that of your
local supply. Failure to do this may result in an electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury and/or damage to the machine due to an
incorrect supply rating.

observed to avoid injuries and damage. Please read the complete
operating manual with due care. Keep this manual in a safe
place, so that the information is available at all times. If you give
the equipment to any other person, give them these operating
instructions as well. We accept no liability for damage or accidents
which arise due to non-observance of these instructions and the
safety information.
This equipment is not designed to be used by people (including
children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or
those with no experience and/or knowledge unless they are
supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or
they have received instructions from such a person in how to
use the equipment safely.
Children must always be supervised in order to ensure that they
do not play with the equipment.
Never allow other persons who are not familiar with the
operating instructions to use the equipment. Contact your local
governmental agency for information regarding minimum age
requirements for the user.
Never use a vacuum cleaner in the direct vicinity of persons -
especially children or animals.

Safety instructions
1. Operation, storage and monitoring
WARNING!
a) If you are connecting a power tool to the wet & dry
vacuum cleaner, then wear close-fitting work clothing
which is in good condition and which offers protection,
such as long trousers, sturdy work shoes, hard-wearing
gloves, a face mask or goggles to protect your eyes, and
good quality ear defenders to reduce the noise. Wearing
personal protective gear such as, safety gloves, non-slip safety
shoes, long trousers, snug fitting clothing, eye protection or ear
protection reduces the risk of injury. If you have long hair, wear
a hair net.
b) Never leave the vacuum cleaner running and unattended.
Store the vacuum cleaner in a safe place when not in use.
WARNING!
c) If you interrupt your work to move to a different position
it is imperative to switch off and unplug the vacuum
cleaner while you are relocating it. If the machine has not
stopped when moving it then there is a risk of material or
clothing becoming caught into the suction hose or accessories
fitted to the hose thus causing damage or personal injury.
There could also be risk of electrocution if either the mains
cable is damaged whilst relocating the vacuum cleaner, or if
the metal tank still has liquid inside if, if it is not unplugged.

DANGER!
d) Never use the vacuum cleaner in the rain or in moist or wet
conditions. There is a risk of electrocution, or damage to the
vacuum cleaner, if moisture gets inside the vacuum cleaner.
DANGER!
e) Protect the vacuum cleaner from the damp and rain. There
is a risk of electrocution, or damage to the shredder, if moisture
gets inside the vacuum cleaner.
DANGER!
f) Do not use the vacuum cleaner without an RCD protection
device, the maximum operating current must not be
greater than 30mA. There is a risk of electrocution, or damage
to the vacuum cleaner, in the event of a fault, if an RCD is not in
the circuit.
DANGER!
g) The ON/OFF switch must be set to OFF and the power plug
removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or doing
any other work on the vacuum cleaner and whenever
the cable becomes tangled. The vacuum cleaner will
continue to run briefly after it is switched off. There is a risk
of electrocution, or damage to the vacuum cleaner, if this is not
done.
h) The operator is responsible for the safety of third parties
within the working radius of the vacuum cleaner.

WARNING!
i) This vacuum cleaner is not suitable for vacuuming dust
which can be harmful to the health. There is a risk of
respiratory or other diseases, or risk of death if this is done.

j) Take extra care when cleaning steps. If the vacuum cleaner
is not stable during use and topples over, there is a risk of
impact injury, injury from tripping or falling, injury from
materials being sucked into the accessories or nozzles, or
damage to the shredder.
DANGER!
k) Each time before you leave the vacuum cleaner, switch off
the motor and pull out the power plug. If the electric motor
is left running there is a risk of damage or injury.
WARNING!
l) Maintenance and cleaning work on the vacuum cleaner,
as well as the removal of the motor unit for emptying
of the metal tank, changing of filters, etc. must only be
performed when the motor is at a standstill and the power
plug has been pulled out. There is a risk of electrocution,
injury or damage to the vacuum cleaner, if this is not done.

q) Always make sure of your footing while working. Risk of
accident or injury due to slipping or tripping.

DANGER!
r) Take care to ensure that the power cable does not get
damaged by being run over, crushed, pulled, or anything
similar. Risk of electrocution.
s) Keep the vacuum cleaner away from other persons,
particularly children and pets.
t) Use the vacuum cleaner only for the purpose specified in these
instructions.
u) The mains voltage of your supply must be the same as the
voltage specified on the appliance rating plate. Risk of fire
or electrocution exists if this is not correct.
v) Power cables used with the shredder must not be of a
lighter duty class than HO7RN-F rubber insulated flexible
cables according to DIN 57282 / VDE 0282 with a minimum
cross sectional area of 1.5 mm

w) If the power cable has to be replaced, the replacement
must comply with the design specifications of the
manufacturer. Risk of electrocution.
x) If the Power Cord or plug is damaged do not use the
machine. Have the cable replaced with an approved part
by a qualified electrician or a suitably qualified person.

y) Have repairs carried out only by a qualified electrician or
service Engineer. Risk of fire or electrocution.

2. Additional instructions
a) Keep the air vents clear of dirt. Risk of fire if the motor
overheats.
b) After use, unplug the machine and check it for damage.
c) When you are not using the shredder, keep it in a dry place out
of the reach of children.
d) Check the screws regularly to see that they are properly
tightened.
e) Examine the vacuum cleaner for signs of wear or damage
each time before you use it and after any impacts. Have
essential repairs carried out without delay.
f) Use only original replacement parts for repair and
maintenance purposes.
g) Never use replacement parts or accessories which are not
approved or recommended by the manufacturer.
h) Pull out the power plug before carrying out any inspection,
cleaning or other work on the shredder and whenever it is not
being used.
i) Keep the machine away from other persons, particularly
children and pets.
j) Use the machine only in the way described in these operating
instructions.
k) The electric circuit must be protected at your Distribution Board
by at least a 16A fuse.
l) The efficiency of the machine will be greatly reduced if
an extension cord with too small a cross section is used. A
conductor cross section of at least 3 x 1.5 mm
2
is required for
cables up to 25 m long, and one of at least 3 x 2.5 mm
2
for cables
longer than 25 m. Risk of fire or electrocution.

m) Do not wear loose clothing or clothing with hanging belts or
cords.
n) When the motor is running, keep your head and body away
from the motor vents, and away from the suction hose, or
accessories attached to the hose.
o) When the motor is running, do not position your hands, other
body parts or clothing into the vicinity of the suction hose, or
accessories attached to the hose.
Damaged or illegible labels must be replaced.
WARNING!
p) To detect significant damage or defects, the equipment
must be inspected each time before use and each time
after being dropped or suffering other shocks. Do not use
the vacuum cleaner if any damage has occurred as a result
of dropping. Risk of injury/death.
3. Safety of persons
a) Be careful, pay attention to what you are doing and
approach work with a Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner in a
reasonable manner. Do not use a vacuum cleaner if you
are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication. A single moment of inattentiveness when using
the vacuum cleaner can result in serious injury.
