5 THE COFFEE GRINDER (FIG.02)
Caution! The grind adjustment lever
situated beneath the coffee container
(Fig.02) should be moved only while the
coffee grinder is running. Do not place
ground and/or instant coffee in the coffee
bean container.
Do not introduce anything other than coffee
beans into the container. The coffee grinder
contains dangerous moving parts; keep
fingers and/or other objects away. Before
carrying out any operations in the coffee
bean container, switch OFF the ON/OFF
switch (7) and remove the plug from the
wall outlet. Do not introduce coffee beans
when the coffee grinder is working.
The quality and the taste of your coffee will
depend both on the blend used and the grind.
The machine features a lever (Fig.02) for
adjusting the grind. To obtain a finer or coarser
grind, move the lever while the coffee grinder is
running; the values shown on the machine
represent the grind settings.
Each appliance is factory set to a medium grind:
if the coffee is ground too fine, move the lever
to higher values; if the grind is too coarse, move
the lever toward lower levels.
The grind adjustment will be noticeable only after
three or four coffees have been brewed.
Use blends of coffee beans for espresso
machines. Avoid using extreme grind settings
(e.g. 1 - 8); if necessary, use different coffee
blends. Store coffee in a cool place, in an airtight
container.
The grind must be adjusted whenever the coffee
does not flow as it should:
Coffee flows out too fast = excessively coarse
grind > move lever to a lower value;
Coffee drips out slowly and/or not at all = exces-
sively fine grind > move the lever to a higher
value.
6 ADJUSTING THE COFFEE
DOSE (FIG.05)
You may select the quantity of coffee (dose) that
you wish to grind. The manufacturer sets an
average dose in the factory.
Moving the lever (Fig.05) inside the door (15)
to the right will increase the quantity of ground
coffee; moving the lever to the left will reduce
the quantity of ground coffee.
You must adjust the dose before pressing the
coffee brew button.
This system allows you to obtain an optimal brew
with all commercially available types of coffee.
7 BREW UNIT

spense coffee, check the water level
in the tank.
