Please read the owners manual
thoroughly prior to operating the
brushcutter and adhere to the safety
instructions!
Carburetor setting
The carburetor has been pre-adjusted at the
factory according to the local atmospheric
conditions. A correction of the carburetor
setting may be necessary which will depend
upon where the unit is used (mountain region
or lowland).
The recommended RPM values can be found in
the service owner's manual.
The carburetor has 3 adjustment screws:
1. Idle set screw (T)
2. Low speed mixture screw (L)
3. High speed mixture screw (H)
Warning! The carburetor setting is
intended to achieve maximum engine
performance. When setting the
carburetor it is absolutely necessary to
use a tachometer.
The following steps are necessary to set the
carburetor correctly:
a) Warm-up engine
b) Turn off engine
c) Set carburetor to initial setting
d) Start engine
e) Set idle run
Seek highest idle run with the L-screw. From
that point, turn screw 1/8 turn to the left. Set
the idle speed with a tachometer by turning
the idle set screw (T) to the listed value. The
brushcutter attachment has to be motionless.
Apply throttle to check acceleration. Open
the L-screw slightly in case there is delay.
f) Set the maximum R.P.M.
With engine warm apply full throttle. Set
R.P.M with the H-screw according to the
indicated value.
g) Re-check idle speed.
Warning: Carburetor adjustment
should only be conducted by an
authorized Service Center with pro-
per measuring and adjustment tools.
Air filter
The air filter stops the intake of dirt and lessens
wear on the engine.
Regular service lengthens the brushcutter's life span.
Checking and cleaning air filter:
Remove air filter cover.
Remove air filter.
When air filter is only slightly dirty (daily):
Shake out air filter or blow away debris.
When air filter is very dirty (weekly).
Clean air filter in soapy water and dry
afterwards.
Replace air filter if damaged or worn.
Cleaning Air filter
Soiled air filters reduce the engine's efficiency. They
increase fuel consumption as well as harmful
substances in the exhaust. Furthermore, engine
start-up becomes more difficult.
The air filter should be cleaned daily if the
brushcutter is being used continuously. In serve
dust conditions the air filter has to be cleaned
more often.
If the air filters are heavily soiled they can be
cleaned with an non-flammable cleaning
solution (warm sudsy water). The filter need to
be totally dry, prior to re-installing. Damaged
filter parts need to be replaced immediately. The
warranty is not applicable if the engine has
become damaged due to improper care.
Spark Plug
The required electrode gap is 0,5 mm (0.020
inches).
Warning: The spark plug needs to be
checked after every 50 operating
hours. The spark plug needs to be
replaced if the electrode shows wear.
