DRAINAGE HOLES
Depending on the intended use of the planter,
the drainage holes need to be drilled in different
locations on the planter as shown:
OPTION 1: To utilize the self-watering feature,
drill a hole in the side of the planter. Look for the
indentation mark on the side as shown. This
overflow hole allows for drainage of excess water
to avoid over saturation of the soil and roots.
OPTION 2: To use a regular planter, and if the
self-watering feature is NOT intended for use,
simply look for the knockout hole on the bottom
and puncture. WARNING: Knocking the holes out
in the bottom will permanently eliminate the
self-watering feature and functionality.
SELF-WATERING RESERVOIR SYSTEM
The non-removeable tray at the bottom creates a
sub-irrigation water reservoir at the bottom of the
planter. This allows water in the reservoir to soak
upwards keeping the soil and roots mois·t.
