Midland Radio MXAT01VP Installation guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the instructions for the Midland MXAT01 Mount Assembly. This document covers the proper installation steps, key parts like the NMO mount and the O-ring seal, and provides important details about mounting and connection. I'm ready to answer your questions about the MXAT01 and its installation process.
  • What is the maximum thickness of mounting surface this mount is designed for?
What size mounting hole is required for the MXAT01 NMO mount?
How far should the center conductor of Part D extend beyond the mounting surface?
What is the maximum torque for tightening part A?
How tight should the MXAT01 antenna be when attached?

MXAT01 NMO Mount Assembly Diagram
1. The MXAT01 NMO mount is designed for mounting brackets or surfaces up to 1/2" thick.
2. The MXAT01 NMO mount is designed to be installed in a 1/2" hole, commonly used for 3/8” stud mount
CB antennas.
3. Part C should be adjusted so the center conductor on the Part D NMO interface extends 9/32” to 5/16”
beyond the mounting surface, or just above the top surface of Part A when installed.
4. Use the hex head on the Part D NMO interface to hold it in position while Part A is installed and tightened.
5. Part A is installed on top of the bracket or mounting surface with the wrench flats up and the O-ring
down. The rubber O-ring on the bottom of part A acts as a seal to prevent water entering the mounting
surface hole. Maximum torque: 32 lb-ft.
6. The hex head can also be used to hold the NMO interface in position while tightening the PL259
connector, Part F, by hand.
7. The center conductor of Part D should end up 1/32” to 1/16” proud of Part A to properly interface with
the MXAT01 antenna. Tighten the antenna by hand, to just snug.
