1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing this Tannoy Ceiling Monitor System product. The STK 2 is suited for high-
level music and speech reinforcement applications requiring exceptional sonic quality with uncompromised
reliability.
2. UNPACKING
Every Tannoy product and accessory is carefully inspected before packing. After unpacking, please
inspect your product to make sure no damage has occurred in transit. In the unlikely event of any
damage, would you please notify your dealer immediately and retain your shipping carton, as your
dealer may ask you to return the faulty unit to him for inspection.
3. SAFETY NOTICES
Some regional construction codes require the use of a secondary method of securing loudspeakers
to provide security of a back up support. Please consult the relevant construction codes in your region.
To ensure a safe installation, follow the assembly instructions carefully.
All electrical wiring must adhere to the local electrical authority codes.
Tannoy will not be held responsible for any damages caused by the improper installation of these
loudspeakers.

5. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
Each product is supplied with the following accessories as standard:
• 4 x 3/8” Forged Shoulder Eyebolts
• 4 x 3/8” Nuts
• 4 x 3/8” Flat Washer
• 4 x 3/8” Lock Washer
• 5 x 3-pin Phoenix™ Connectors
• 1 x 110 Volt 2 Conductor Power Cord

When suspending the STK 2 all four flying points must be used. Cables or chains as required must be rated
for overhead suspension and with a safe working load rating in excess of 75 lbs, in addition to the locally
required safety ratio. All rigging must conform to local codes and regulations. Overhead structure attachment
must also be able to support a minimum of 75 lbs with the appropriate safety factor.
6. INSTALLATION GUIDELINES:
Installation of Tannoy products should be performed by an experienced contractor familiar with local
codes. Failure to properly install and secure heavy Tannoy equipment may cause a device to fall.
Tannoy cannot be responsible for damage or injury due to improperly installed equipment.
6. WIRING AND SETTING UP:
Use the supplied power cord to connect the STK 2 to an approved 110 Volt 15 A
receptacle.

To connect the line level audio signal to the STK 2, use the supplied 3-pin
Phoenix™ connectors. Do not feed with a speaker level signal.
Use a high quality shielded 2 conductor cable for a balanced input connection.
When an unbalanced signal is supplied connect Ground and minus (-) pins
together.
Please see amplifier panel for wiring diagram.
The STK 2 requires only a mono signal. When a stereo signal is persent the
STK 2 internally sums the signals.
Two full bandwidth balanced outputs are available to daisy-chain multiple
STK 2 units together.

The master volume control is used to set the maximum allowed level. After the installation
is complete, the installer can set the master volume control to prevent the system from
being over driven.

Remote volume control can be accomplished by using the 3-pin VCA output connector.
A 3 conductor cable is required from the VCA output to a remotely mounted 25k
potentiometer.

**VCA wiring is not compatible with PLA 305/PLC 4.1 controller combinations.**

9. WARRANTY
No maintenance of the STK 2 loudspeaker is necessary.
All Tannoy passive components are covered by a 5 year limited warranty from the date of purchase, subject
to the absence of misuse, overload or accidental damage. All Tannoy active and electronic products are
covered by a 1 year limited warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the absence of misuse, overload
or accidental damage. Claims will not be considered if the serial number has been altered or removed. Work
under warranty should only be carried out by a Tannoy Professional dealer or service agent. This warranty
in no way affects your statutory rights. For further information please contact your dealer or distributor in your
