product. They contain important information

concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using

the product, please familiarise yourself with all

Q Intended use

This cordless grass trimmer (hereinafter “product”

or “power tool”) is designed for cutting grass

and weeds in the garden and for edge trimming.

Do not use the product to trim hedges or bushes.

The product is to be used by adults.

Any other use or modiﬁcation of the product are

considered improper use and can result in hazards

such as death, life-threatening injuries and damage.

The manufacturer is not liable for any damages

caused by improper use. The product is not intended

for commercial or any other use.

Q General power tool safety

warnings

Electrical safety

1. Power tool plugs must match the

outlet. Never modify the plug in any

way. Do not use any adapter plugs

with earthed (grounded) power

tools. Unmodiﬁed plugs and matching

outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.

2. Avoid body contact with earthed or

grounded surfaces, such as pipes,

radiators, ranges and refrigerators.

There is an increased risk of electric shock if

your body is earthed or grounded.

Personal safety

1. Stay alert, watch what you are

doing and use common sense when

operating a power tool. Do not use

a power tool while you are tired or

under the inﬂuence of drugs, alcohol

or medication. A moment of inattention

while operating power tools may result in

serious personal injury.

2. Use personal protective equipment.

Always wear eye protection. Protective

equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety

shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for

appropriate conditions will reduce personal

injuries.

3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure

the switch is in the oﬀ-position before

connecting to power source and/or

battery pack, picking up or carrying

the tool. Carrying power tools with your

ﬁnger on the switch or energising power tools

that have the switch on invites accidents.

4. Remove any adjusting key or wrench

before turning the power tool on. A

wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part

of the power tool may result in personal injury.

5. Do not overreach. Keep proper

footing and balance at all times.

This enables better control of the power tool in

unexpected situations.

6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose

clothing or jewellery. Keep your

hair, clothing and gloves away from

moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or

long hair can be caught in moving parts.

7. If devices are provided for the

connection of dust extraction and

collection facilities, ensure these are

connected and properly used. Use of

dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

Power tool use and care

1. Do not force the power tool. Use

the correct power tool for your

application. The correct power tool will

do the job better and safer at the rate for

which it was designed.

2. Do not use the power tool if the

switch does not turn it on and oﬀ.

Any power tool that cannot be controlled

with the switch is dangerous and must be

repaired.

3. Disconnect the plug from the

power source and/or the battery

pack from the power tool before

making any adjustments, changing

accessories, or storing power tools.

Such preventive safety measures reduce the

risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

4. Store idle power tools out of the

reach of children and do not allow

persons unfamiliar with the power

tool or these instructions to operate

the power tool. Power tools are

dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

5. Maintain power tools. Check for

misalignment or binding of moving

parts, breakage of parts and any

other condition that may aﬀect

the power tool’s operation. If

damaged, have the power tool

repaired before use. Many accidents

are caused by poorly maintained power

tools.

6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp

cutting edges are less likely to bind and are

easier to control.

7. Use the power tool, accessories

and tool bits etc. in accordance

with these instructions, taking into

the power tool for operations diﬀerent from

Battery tool use and care

1. Recharge only with the charger

speciﬁed by the manufacturer. A

charger that is suitable for one type of

battery pack may create a risk of ﬁre when

used with another battery pack.

2. Use power tools only with

speciﬁcally designated battery

packs. Use of any other battery packs may

create a risk of injury and ﬁre.

3. When battery pack is not in use,

keep it away from other metal

objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,

nails, screws or other small metal

objects, that can make a connection

from one terminal to another. Shorting

the battery terminals together may cause

burns or a ﬁre.

4. Under abusive conditions, liquid

may be ejected from the battery;

avoid contact. If contact accidentally

occurs, ﬂush with water. If liquid

contacts eyes, additionally seek

medical help. Liquid ejected from the

battery may cause irritation or burns.

Service

1. Have your power tool serviced by

a qualiﬁed repair person using only

identical replacement parts. This will

ensure that the safety of the power tool is

maintained.

is responsible for accidents or hazards

Preparation

1. Before use, always visually inspect the

product for damage, missing or misplaced

guards or shields

2. Never operate the product while people,

especially children, or pets are nearby.

3. Wear eye protection and stout shoes at all

times while operating the product.

4. If the cutting attachment strikes any foreign

object or the product starts making any

unusual noise or vibration, shut oﬀ the power

source and allow the product to stop. Switch

the product oﬀ, remove the battery pack and

take the following steps:

¢ inspect for damage,

¢ check for, and tighten, any loose parts,

¢ have any damaged parts replaced or

repaired with parts having equivalent

speciﬁcations.

Operation

1. Use the product only in daylight or good

artiﬁcial light.

2. Never operate the product with damaged

guards or shields or without guards or shields

in place.

3. Keep hands and feet away from the cutting

device at all times and especially when

switching on the motor.

4. Before using the product and after any

impact, check for signs of wear or damage

and repair as necessary.

5. Always disconnect the product from the

power supply (i. e. remove the plug from the

power supply or the battery pack)

¢ whenever leaving the product unattended;

¢ before clearing a blockage;

¢ before checking, cleaning or working on

the product

¢ after striking a foreign object;

¢ whenever the product starts vibrating

abnormally.

6. Take care against injury to feet and hands

from the cutting device.

7. Always ensure that the air vents are kept clear

of debris.

8. Take care against injury caused by any device

ﬁtted for trimming the ﬁlament line length,

if applicable. After extending new cutter

line always return the product to its normal

operating position before switching on.

9. Never ﬁt metal cutting elements.

10. Never use replacement parts or accessories

not provided or recommended by the

manufacturer.

11. Avoid using the product in bad weather

conditions especially when there is a risk of

lightning.

12. Switch on the motor only when the hands and

feet are away from the cutting means.

13. Avoid overreach and keep the balance at all

times, to ensure the footing on slopes.

14. Do not touch moving hazardous parts before

the product is switched oﬀ, disconnected from

power supply (i. e. the battery pack) and

the moving hazardous parts have come to a

complete stop.

15. Walk, never run.

16. Always wear substantial footwear and long

trousers while operating the product.

Maintenance and storage

1. Disconnect the product from the power

supply (i. e. remove the plug from the power

supply or the battery pack) before checking,

cleaning or working on the product and when

it is not in use.

2. Disconnect the product from the power supply

(i. e. remove the plug from the power supply

or the battery pack) before carrying out

maintenance or cleaning work.

3. Maintain and inspect your product regularly.

Check for misalignment or binding of

moving parts, breakage of parts and any

other condition that may aﬀect the product’s

operation. If damaged, have the product

repaired before use. Many accidents are

caused by poorly maintained products.

4. Improper maintenance will lead to

malfunction / failure of the product.

5. Inspect the product before each use, after

dropping the product or exposing to other

impacts to identify signiﬁcant defects. Check

for loose fasteners and damaged parts, such

as cracks in the cutting attachment.

6. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended

replacement parts and accessories.

7. Inspect and maintain the product regularly.

Have the product repaired only by an

authorised service centre or similar qualiﬁed

specialist.

8. When not in use, store the product out of the

reach of children.

as wear personal protective equipment.

1. Unpack all parts and lay them on a ﬂat,

stable surface.

2. Remove all packing materials and shipping

devices if applicable.

3. Make sure the delivery contents are complete

and free of any damage. If you ﬁnd that

parts are missing or show damage do not

use the product but contact your dealer. Do

not use the product unless missing parts have

been delivered in addition or defective parts

have been replaced. Using an incomplete

or damaged product represents a hazard to

people and property.

4. Ensure that you have all the accessories and

tools needed for assembly and operation.

This also includes suitable personal protective

equipment.

Q Assembly

u Only operate the product after it has been

completely assembled and adjusted!

NOTE

u Assemble the product completely and make all

required adjustments prior to operation.

u Follow the assembly and operation instructions

closely. Use the ﬁgures as visual guide.

u Pay attention to small parts such as screws and

nuts that are loosen or removed for assembly or

during adjustments. Keep them safe in order to

avoid losing them.

Attaching the front handle

1. Align the front handle

with its bracket

and slide it upwards onto the upper pole

(see Fig. D).

2. Ensure the front handle

sits properly in

place.

Attaching the plant protector

1. Slightly widen the open end of the plant

protector

, align the metal rod ends with

the holes on the trimmer head

and let it

snap into it (see Fig. E). Pay attention to the

correct orientation!

2. Ensure the plant protector

sit properly in

place and can be folded up and down.

Attaching the wheel assembly

NOTE

u The plant protector

must ﬁrst be folded

upwards so that the wheel assembly

can

be mounted.

1. Align the wheel assembly

with its

holder on the trimmer head

and slide it

downwards (see Fig. F).

2. Ensure the wheel assembly

sits properly

in place.

Attaching the guard

The plant protector

must be folded upward,

before the wheel assembly

can be assembled.

1. Turn the trimmer head

upside down.

2. Align the latches on the guard

to the

edges on the trimmer head

and slide it

into place.

3. Secure the connection with the provided

screws and a suitable screw driver

(see Fig. G).

battery pack

1. Align the battery pack

to the battery pack

compartment

and slide it onto it. Ensure it

clicks noticeably in place.

Removing the battery pack:

1. Press the release buttons

comes partly charged.

prior to ﬁrst use,

ideally at least 60 minutes.

u Always pull out the plug of the charger

from the mains before removing or

connecting the battery pack

u Never charge the battery pack

the ambient temperature is below 10 °C or

above 40 °C.

u Never recharge a battery pack

again

immediately after rapid charging. This could

overcharge the battery pack

reducing the lifespan of the battery pack

shorter due to wear. Regularly check the condition

is equipped with a bumper

helping to cut the trimming line

while operating.

1. Tap the bumper

on solid ground and the

trimming spool

will release trimming line

(see Fig. N).

2. Excess line will be cut by the knife

and

should always remain inside the radius of the

guard

NOTE

u The line feeding system works only when the

product is switched on.

u The trimming line will wear faster and

require more feeding if cutting is done along

sidewalks, other abrasive surfaces or heavier

weeds are being cut.

Q Trimming

1. Fold down the plant protector

2. Adjust the angle of trimmer head

to 0° for

trimming operation.

3. Hold the product ﬁrmly with a gap between

the product and your right side.

4. Stand upright, do not lean forward and pay

attention to posture. Keep both feet apart to

help retain your balance.

5. Hold the trimmer head

just above the

ground at an angle of approximately 30°.

6. Move the product with a slow regular arc

from left to right before moving it back to the

starting position before trimming the next area

(see Fig. O).

7. Ensure the cutting attachment remains clean

and free from oﬀ-cuts that may cause it to

jam. Check regularly. Release the on / oﬀ

switch

and remove the battery pack

before checking.

8. Trim longer grass in stages; do not cut long

grass in one cut. For the best results, cut

longer grass in steps (see Fig. P).

Q Edging

1. Fold down the plant protector

2. Adjust the angle of trimmer head

to 90°

for edging operation.

3. Push the product forwards using the

wheel

(see Fig. Q).

Q Tips

o For best results, do not cut wet grass because

it tends to stick to the trimmer head

and

guard

, prevents proper discharge of

grass trimmings, and could cause you to slip

and fall.

o Pay special attention when performing the

work close to trees and bushes. The trimmer

head

could damage sensitive bark, and

damage fence posts.

o Fold down the plant protector

to avoid

bringing the cutting device into contact with

hard objects such as walls and curb stones

(see Fig. R).

NOTE

u The trimming line will wear faster and

require more feeding if cutting is done along

sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces or

heavier weeds are being cut.

u While trimming, the cutting device is possible

to be blocked by grass or unevenly ground.

So the product will turn oﬀ automatically due

to over current. Therefore release the on / oﬀ

switch

for over 3 seconds and then press

down again to go on with trimming.

Q After use

1. Switch the product oﬀ, remove the battery

pack

and let it cool down.

2. Check, clean and store the product (see

“Cleaning and care”).

maintenance and cleaning work!

Q Cleaning

o The product must always be kept clean, dry

and free from oil or grease. Remove debris

from it after each use and before storage.

o Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure

safe use and prolong the life of the product.

o Inspect the product before each use for worn

and damaged parts. Do not operate it if you

ﬁnd broken and worn parts.

o Never allow ﬂuids to get into the product.

o Clean the product with a dry cloth. Use a

brush for areas that are hard to reach.

o In particular clean the air vents after every

use with a cloth and brush.

o Remove stubborn dirt with high pressure air

(max. 3 bar).

NOTE

u Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or

other aggressive detergents or disinfectants

to clean this product as they might be harmful

to its surfaces.

Q Maintenance

Before and after each use, check the product

and accessories (or attachments) for wear and

damage. If required, exchange them for new ones

as described in this instruction manual. Observe

the technical requirements (see “Technical data”).

Q Replacing the trimming spool

NOTE

u There is a spring

inside the housing.

Ensure it does not get lost.

Replace the trimming spool

when it is empty

or worn.

3. Press the latches

on both sides to

disengage them from the housing

4. Remove the cover

together with the

trimming spool

5. Clean the housing

before inserting a new

trimming spool

of the same type.

6. Lead the trimming line endings

through the

eyelets

on the housing.

7. Reﬁt the cover

onto the housing

Ensure the latches

are properly engaged

in position.

8. Ensure the cover is correctly ﬁtted before

releasing it. Otherwise, due to spring action it

may be ejected and cause injuries.

Q Repair

This product does not contain any parts that can

be repaired by the user. Contact an authorised

service centre or a similarly qualiﬁed person to

have it checked and repaired.

Q Storage

o Switch the product oﬀ and remove the battery

pack

o Clean the product as described (see

“Cleaning”).

o Store the product and its accessories in a

dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place.

o Always store the product in a place that is

inaccessible to children. The ideal storage

temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C.

o Fold up the plant protector

o We recommend using the original package

for storage or covering the product with a

suitable cloth or enclosure to protect it against

dust.

o Regularly check the charge level of the

battery pack, if it is to be stored for an

extended period. Optimum storage conditions

are cool and dry.

Q Transportation

o Switch the product oﬀ and remove the battery

pack

o Attach a proper knife protector (not included)

and fold up the plant protector

o Attach transportation guards, if applicable.

o Always carry the product by its handles.

o Protect the product from any heavy impact

or strong vibrations which may occur during

transportation in vehicles.

o Store the spare trimming spool in the storage

compartment

o Secure the product to prevent it from slipping

or falling over.
