Sears Canada mustwarrantthe emla-
sioncontrolsystem on your small off-
read engine forthe periodsoftime listed
below providedthere has been no
abuse, neglect,or impropermaintenance
ofyour small off-read engine.Your emis-
sioncontrolsystemincludes partssuch
as the carburetorand the ignitionsys-
tem.Where a warrantableconditionex-
ists,Sears Canada willrepairyour small
off-read engineat no cost toyou. Ex-
ponees covered underwarrantyinclude
diagnosis,portsand labor. MANUFAC-
TURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE: if
any emissionsrelated parton your en-
gine (as listedunder Emissions Control
WarrantyParts List)isdefective or a de-
fect in the materials orworkmanshipof
the engine causes the failure ofsuch an
emissionrelated part, the partwillbe re-
pairedor replacedby Sears Canada.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSI-
BILITIES: As the smalloff-reed engine
owner,you are responsibleforthe per-
formance of the required maintenance
listed in your instruction manual. Sears
Canada recommends that you retain all
receipts coveting maintenance on your
small off-road engine, but Sears Canada
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack
of receiptsorfor your failure to ensure
the performance of allscheduledmainta-
nance. As the small off-read engine
owner, you should be aware that Sears
Canada may deny you warranty cover-
age if your smalloff-reed engine or a
port of it has failed due to abuse, ne-
glect, improper maintenance, unap-
proved modifications, or the use of parts
notmade or approved by the original
equipment manufacturer. You are re-
sponsible for presenting your small off-
road engine to a Sears Canada autho-
rized repair centre as soon as a problem
exists. Warranty repairsshould be com-
pleted ina reasonable amount of time,
not to exceed 30 days. ffyou have any

WARRANTY COMMENCEMENT
BATE: The warranty periodbegins on
the date the smalloff-reed engine is par-
chased. LENGTH OF COVERAGE:
Thiswarrantyshallbe for a periodof two
years from the initialdate of purchase.
WHAT IS COVERED: REPAIR OR RE-
PLACEMENT OF PARTS. Repairor re-
placementof any warranted partwillbe
performedat no chargeto the owner at
an approvedSears Canada servicing
centre. Ifyou have any questJansregard-
ingyour warranty rightsandresponsibili-
ties,you shouldcontact yournearest au-
thorized service cenf_e or call Sears
Canada at 1-800-469-4663. WAR-
RANTY PERIOD: Any warranted port
which is not scheduled for replacement
as required maintenance, or which is
scheduled only for regular lespection to
the effect of "repair or replace as neces-
sary" shall be warranted for 2 years. Any
warranted part which is scheduled for
replacementas required maintenance
shall be warrantedfor the period of time
up to the first scheduled replacement
point for that part DIAGNOSIS: The
owner shall not be charged for diagnos-
tic laborwhich leads to the determination
that a warranted part is def_etive if the
diagnostic work is performed at an ap-
proved Sears Canada servicingcenlre.
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES: Sears
Canada may be liablefor damages to
otherenginecomponentscaused by the
failureofa warranted port still underwar-
ranty. WHAT IS NOT COVERED: All
failures caused by abuse, neglect, or im-
properreaintananceare not covered.
ADD-ON OR MODIFIED PARTS: The
useof add-on or modified partscan be
groundsfordisellewinga warrantyclaim.
Sears Canada isnot liabletocover fail-
ares of warranted padscaused by the
useof add-on or modifiedparts. HOW
