Thiskitrequirespartstobewelded.Weldingcanexposeyoutoanumberofhazardsincludingtoxic
fumes,smoke,dust,burns,res,explosions,electricshock,radiation,noise,andheatstresswhich
cancauseseriousinjuryanddeath.
Theweldingportionsofthekitshouldbeperformedbyatrainedwelder.
Weldinanadequatelyventilatedareawithsuitablereextinguishingequipmentreadilyavailable.
Weldinare-safeworkplace.Thiscanbeaccomplishedbyweldingbehindre-safebarriers
orcurtainsandonconcreteorotherre-safeooring.Removeorprotectallcombustiblesfrom
ignitionsources.
Wearproperprotectiveclothingwhenwelding,suchasreretardantcoveralls.Protectyourhands
withleathergauntletgloves.Protectyourfeetwithhightopleathershoes,preferablysafetyshoes.
Protectyoureyeswhenwelding.Aweldinghelmetorhandshieldwithlterplateandcoverplate
ismandatorytoprotecttheeyeswhilewelding.Transparentgogglesorsafetyglassesshouldbe
wornatalltimes.
RemovingtheOldBlade
1.Securethebucketupsidedown,sothattheblade
underthefrontedgeofthebucketisexposed.
2.Usingapowergrinder,grindofftheoldbladefrom
thebucket.
Important:Ensurethatyougrindawayallof
theoldbladematerial,butdonotgrindintothe
metalofthebucketitself.
Grindingsteelisveryloudandcoulddamage
yourhearing.Italsoproducessparksandying
debriswhichcouldburnyouanddamageyour
eyes.
Alwayswearhearingprotectionwhenusing
agrinder.
Weartransparentgogglesorsafetyglasses
toprotectyoureyes.
Wearproperprotectiveclothingwhen
grinding,suchasreretardantcoveralls.
Protectyourhandswithleathergloves.
Protectyourfeetwithhightopleathershoes,
preferablysafetyshoes.

hydrogenelectrodebecausethebladeishighcarbon
steel.
1.Clampthebladetothefrontundersideofthebucket
(Figure1),ensuringthatyouleaveaccesstothe
entirefrontandrearseamsofthebladeforwelding.
Formodels22409and22410,clampthebladeso
that1-1/4inches(3.2cm)ofthebladeprotrudes
fromthefrontofthebucket(Figure1).
