Beforeassemblingyourcycle,makesurethatyouhavealltheaboveparts.The
followingstepsexplainhowtoassembleyourexercisecycle.Pleasereadeverystep
thoroughly,andfollowthedirectionscompletelytoensurecorrectassembly.
1.Makesureallpackingmaterialsareremovedfromthecycleframe.
2.Placethecycleonalevel,flatsurface.
3.Pleaseassembletheuprightposttothebicyclemainframe,usingthefour(4)
screwsandwashersprovided.Tightentheboltssecurely(seeFig.1).
4.Pleaseassembletherearcrossframetothemainbikeframeusingthefour(4)
screwsandwashersprovided.Makesurethatthefrontandrearlegssitstablyon

INTERVAL:
1.Whenyouturntheuniton,theelectronicspackagewilldisplay"USER0".Theunit
beginswith"LEVEL1."Ifthisiswhereyouwanttostart,simplypressENTERand
beginpedalingthebike.
2.TheSportsArt506Phas20tensionlevels,withLEVEL1beingtheeasiest,and
LEVEL20beingthehardest.Tochangelevelsatanytimeduringyourworkout,
simplypressthekeystoswitchtoyourdesiredtensionlevel.
3.TheSportsArt506Phasfiveusers(Users0-4),andtheelectronicspackagewill
holdtheUserdatayouenterintoit(notforUser0).ToenterUSERinformation,
presstheUSERkeyfortheUSERnumberyouprefer.
1.PresstheMANUALkey,andonelevellinewillappearinthedisplay.Inthe
MANUALMode,youcansetoneofthefollowing:TIME,DISTANCEor
CALORIES(butnotmorethanone).PresstheMODEkeytoselectoneofthe
three,thenusethekeystosetyourdesiredworkoutlength,distanceor
caloriesburned,thenpressENTER.
2.Afteryouhavesettheabove,begintopedalandyourworkoutinformationwillbe
retainedandappliedtoyourworkout.Ifyoustoppedaling,thepackagewill
displayPEDALtoremindyou.Ifyoudonotbegintopedalwithinthreeminutes,
theelectronicspackagewillautomaticallyRESET.
3.Theelectronicspackagewillautomaticallycountdownfromyourdesiredsetting,
BEEPwhenyourworkoutisfinished,andbegintheCOOLDOWNperiod.
Ifyouwanttorepeatyourworkout,justpressENTERandcontinuepedaling.
1.TheIntervalWorkoutModeallowsyoutodesignyourownpersonalizedworkout
program.Youspecifythetensionanddurationforeightworkoutsegments,then
the506Pwillcyclethroughtheseuntilyourdesiredtimeisreached.
2.PresstheINTERVALkey,andtheelectronicspackagewilldisplaySEG1.For
SEG1,justpressENTERseparatelyafteryouselectyourdesiredtimeand
tension.ThenSEG2willappearintheLCDdisplay,allowingyoutochoosethe
desiredtensionandtimeformoresegments.
3.ForSegments2-8,pleaserefertotheinstructionsabove.Onceallsegmentsare
set,pressENTERatatime,andyourownpersonalizedprogramwillberecorded.
Ifyouonlywanttosetfoursegments,forinstance,leavesegments5-8with
valuesofzero,andthebikewilluseonlyyourdesiredfoursegments.

4.WhileyouareusingtheINTERVALprogram,youmaychangethetensionby
pressingthekeysanytimeduringyourworkout.
5.Afteryouhavesettheabove,begintopedalandyourinformationwillberetained
andappliedtoyourworkout.Ifyoudonotbegintopedalwithinthreeminutes,the
electronicspackagewillautomaticallyRESET.
Inaddition,ifyouneedtointerruptyourworkout(tochangeCDs,theTVchannel,
answerthephone,etc.),simplystoppedaling.Theelectronicspackagewilldisplay
PEDALandpauseyourworkout.Keepinmindthatifyoudonotstartpedalingagain
withinthreeminutes,theelectronicspackagewillautomaticallyRESET.
6.Theelectronicspackagewillautomaticallycountdownfromyourdesiredsetting,
BEEPwhenyourworkoutisfinished,andbegintheCOOLDOWNperiod.
Ifyouwanttorepeatyourworkout,justpressENTERandcontinuepedaling.
The506Pfeaturesatotaloffour(4)professionallydesignedworkoutprograms.The
programscontrolthetensionofthebike.Atanypointduringtheprogramworkout,
youcanchangethetensionbyusingthekeys.
PressthePROGRAMkeytoscrollbetweenthefourprograms.Whenyouhave
chosentheProgramyouwant,presstheENTERkey.Youwillbepromptedtoinput
TIME,DISorCALORIES.UsetheMODEkeytoswitchbetweenCALORIES,DIS
andTIME,thenusethekeystoselectyourdesiredcalorieexpenditure,distance
ortime,thenpressENTER.
Inaddition,ifyouneedtointerruptyourworkout(tochangetheTVchannel,answer
thephone,etc.),simplystoppedaling.TheelectronicspackagewilldisplayPEDAL
andpauseyourworkout.Keepinmindthatifyoudonotstartpedalingagainwithin
threeminutes,theelectronicspackagewillautomaticallyRESET.Whenyoubegin
pedalingagain(withinthreeminutes),youwillpickuprightwhereyouleftoff.
Duringtheseprograms,theunitwillautomaticallyswitchbetweenlevels,givingyou
thefeelingofridingonhillsorlevelground.
1.Whenyouhavereachedyourdesiredtimeordistance,theelectronicspackage
willbeeptoremindyouthatyourworkoutperiodisover,andtheCOOLDOWN
periodisbeginning.

Thedurationofyourexercisesessionisdependentonyourfitnesslevel.Ingeneral,
itisrecommendedthatyoumaintainyourheartrateinthetrainingzoneforatleast
10minutestorealizeanaerobicbenefit.Asyourfitnesslevelincreases,youwillbe
abletomaintainyourhearrateinthetrainingzoneforlongerperiods:usually
between20and30minutes.
Whenfirststartingyourworkout,usethefirstseveralminutestowarmup,then
