1/4" TRIM ROUTER
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite
the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have
the switch on invites accidents.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
Only use safety equipment that has been approved by an appropriate standards
agency. Unapproved safety equipment may not provide adequate protection. Eye
protection must be ANSI-approved and breathing protection must be NIOSH-approved
for the specific hazards in the work area.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with grounded power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching
outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges
and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged
or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

WARNING
When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
TRIM ROUTER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. BE AWARE OF BLADES. Keep all hands away from moving router blades.
2. CHECK BLADES FOR DAMAGE. Replace any cracked or damaged blades before
turning machine on.
3. WATCH FOR NAILS WHEN TRIMMING WOOD. Check stock for stray nails, brads,
staples etc. Remove from stock before operating. Do not under any circusmstances,
allow blades to come into contact with metal fasteners.
4. HOLD TOOL FIRMLY DURING OPERATION.
5. DO NOT TOUCH MOVING PARTS.
6. TOOL MUST BE UNDER NO LOAD WHEN TURNING ON. Allow machine to come to
full speed to determine if there is any problem with the blade rotation before beginning
project.
7. DO NOT LEAVE TOOL RUNNING. Always turn tool off between projects when finished,
or when breaking from work.
8. REMOVE WORKPIECE BEFORE TURNING OFF THE POWER.
9. CAUTION! BIT IS HOT UNDER NORMAL USAGE CONDITIONS. Do not touch bit
after project is complete. Allow bit to cool before handling.
INSERTING BITS:
CAUTION! Always unplug tool before changing bits. Always allow tool to come to a
complete stop and allow sufficient cooling time for bits before removing.
1. Insert bit as deep as possible into conic chuck.
2. Tighten not on chuck with wrenches.
Warning! Do not tighten the chuck nut unless bit is inserted doing so will damage chuck.
CUTTING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT:
STRAIGHT ENGRAVING AND TRIMMING:
1. Place tool on a flat and even surface.
2. Loosen butterfly screw (23) and move the tool body down until bit touches surface.
Tighten screw until holder no longer moves freely but is still adjustable.
3. Adjust cutting depth by moving holder (10) down according to ruling gauge. Never
adjust cut more than 1/8” cut in increment of 1/8” cut in increments of 1/8”.
Tighten butterly screw firmly.
1. Use the straight conductor (1-6) when cutting straight edges and engraving straigh
grooves.
2. Loosen konb (34) and slide straight conductor onto groove. Tighten knob.
3. Flat edge of straight conductor should be facing tool body and be positioned lower
than the holder’s base.
4. Loosen butterfly nut (1) and adjust straight conductor to desined distance. Keep
straight conductor firmly against stock during operation.
CIRCULAR ENGRAVING:
1. Circular engraving is accomplished by using the straight conductor in conjunction with
a small nail. Circles between a 2-3/4” and 8-11/16” radius can be cut.
2. The straight conductor is equipped with two holes and an adjustment plate (4). With
the adjustment plate on the bottom, insert the screw (6) through the plate and then
through one of the two holes on the straight conductor.
3. For circles with a radius from 2-3/4” to 4-3/4”, insert screw through second hold (hold
futhest away from tool body when conductor is attached). For circles with a radius
from 4-3/4” to 8-11/16” insert screw through the first hole.
4. Put split washer (3) and then flat washer (2) onto screw. Faster with butterfly nut (1).
5. Cutting too fast will result in poor quality cuts and may damage bit or motor. Moving
too slowly will also make bad cuts. Each bits specifications vary so it’s best to try out
different bits on surplus stock before cutting workpiece to determine their capabilities.
OPERTATING INSTRUCTION
GENERAL CUTTING:
1. Always allow bit to come to full speed before it touches the stock.
2. Always move router in a forward direction.
3. Always make sure that bit is moving in a clockwise direction.
4. Keep workpiece on the left.

CIRCULAR TRIMING:
1. The adjusting conductor (28, 29, 31-37) is used when triming curved edges.
2. Slide adjusting conductor onto holder with both grooves properly lined up.
3. Make sure to keep sufficient distance between tube (29) and cutting bit. Tube should
be somehwhat underneath bit.
4. The adjust screw (33) is used to control the amount of stock removed from the edge.
Screw (32) must be tighten securely.
5. Each complete rotation of the knob adjusts the amount removed by 3/64”, Clockwise
rotation causes more stock to be removed and counter-clockwise causes less stock
to be removed.
6. Keep tube firmly against edge of stock during operation.
5. Adjust for desired radius, then tighten down butterfly nut.
6. Drive small nail or similar fastener through the remaining hole.
7. Cut circle in a clockwise direction.
MAINTENANCE
1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for:
• Loose hardware,
• Misalignment or binding of moving parts,
• Damaged cord/electrical wiring,
• Cracked or broken parts, and
• Any other condition that may affect its safe operation.
2. AFTER USE, wipe external surfaces of the tool with clean cloth
3. Periodically, wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and NIOSH-approved breathing
protection and blow dust out of the motor vents using dry compressed air.
4. Periodically wipe the Collet, Collet Cone, and router bits with a light oil to prevent rust.
5. Over time, if the performance of the tool diminishes, or it stops working completely,
it may be necessary to replace the Carbon Brushes.
This procedure must be completed by a qualified technician.
6. WARNING! If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged, it must be replaced
only by a qualified service technician.
TROUBLESHOOTING

cord is needed, use one with the proper diameter

Follow all safety precautions whenever diagnosing or servicing the tool.
Disconnect power supply before service.
