Safety
The safety alert symbol identifies safety information
about hazards that can result in personal injury. A signal word
(DANGER,WARNING, orCAUTION) is used with the alert
symbol to indicate the likelihood and the potential severity of
injury. In addition, a hazard symbol may be used to represent
the type of hazard.
DANGERindicates a hazard which, if not
avoided,willresult in death or serious injury.
WARNINGindicates a hazard which, if not
avoided,couldresult in death or serious injury.
CAUTIONindicates a hazard which, if not
avoided,couldresult in minor or moderate injury.
NOTICEindicates an action thatcouldresult in damage to
the product.
Safety Messages
WARNING
Read, Understand, and Obey Safety Warnings and
Instructions.
Failure to read, understand and obey the safety
warnings and instructions in this document could result in
death, serious injury, and/or property damage.
The warnings and instructions must be read, understood,
and obeyed when setting-up, operating, servicing,
transporting, or storing the unit.
Assembly Procedure
The illustrations are located at the beginning of this manual.
The step numbers in the procedure correspond to the circled
numbers in the illustrations.
Tools

Refer to Figure 1 for tools needed to set up the snowthrower.
Parts

Attach the Handle
(Figure 3)
1. Lift the handle.
2. Tighten the handle knobs securely.
3. Cut the ties.
Attach the Chute and the Chute Rotation
Handle- A, B
(Figure 4)
1. Attach the chute and the chute rotation handle with
screws as shown.Attach the rear screw first.
2. Attach the two remaining screws as shown.
NOTICEDo not use the chute deflector or the chute
rotation handle to lift the unit. These are designed for
making needed adjustments only.
Add Oil
(Figure 5)
1. See the Operator’s Manual for oil specifications.
2. Place the snowthrower on a level surface.
3. Remove the dipstick and add oil.
4. Keep the oil in the operating range.
NOTICEDO NOT attempt to crank or start the
engine before it has been properly serviced with the
recommended oil. This could result in engine failure or
shorten its life.
Attach the Starter Handle Rope Guide
(Figure 6)
1. Install the guide with the hardware.
2. Slowly pull out the starter handle.
3. Attach the rope as shown.
Attach the Control Cable
(Figure 7)
1. Lift the cable cover to expose the adjustment loops.
2. Install the cable end fitting into one of the middle
adjustment loops as shown.
3. Lower the cable cover.
Perform the Safety Test procedure below to make
sure that the cable tension is correct.
• If theauger rotates while the auger control is not
engaged, lengthen the control cable by installing the
end fitting in the next lowest loop.
• If the auger does not rotate when the auger control is
engaged, shorten the control cable by installing the
end fitting in the next highest loop.
