ENTRY DOOR STOP INSTRUCTIONS
Step One: Start on the top hinge. Loosen screws 2 and 4, remove screws 1 and 3 from
the wall side of hinge. Place belled end of IDS strap behind hinge. Pull down to lock into
place. Replace and re-tighten screws. Please see Note, if the strap does not seem to fit
properly.
Step Two: Loosen screws 1 and 4, remove screws 2 and 3 from the door side of hinge.
Place fingered end of IDS strap behind hinge. Keep strap tight, place 10 degrees shy of
desired stopping point. Replace and re-tighten screws. Repeat steps for bottom hinge.
Step Three: When satisfied with stopping point, push IDS strap inward while closing the
door. Leave door closed for a minimum of 15 minutes to set crease and memory. Trim
any excess strap from back of hinge with razor knife.
Note: If your IDS strap does not seem to fit properly behind the wall side of hinge, turn
the strap upside down and feed in behind hinge from below and pull up to lock into
place. This happens if your hinge is a Modified “S” Hinge, which is common on pre-hung
entry doors. Please contact us if you are experiencing any other difficulties.
