HOW TO OPERATE
6
Ginnys.com 800-544-1590
 During inial use you may noce a slight odor due to the burning
o of manufacturing residues. This is completely normal and will
disappear aer using the unit once or twice.
COOKING:
1. Place the base on a heat-resistant surface near an electrical outlet. DO
NOT use on the oor.
2. Place the stoneware pot into the base and add ingredients per your
recipe. If you need to sauté or brown foods prior to slow cooking, do this
in a pan on a stovetop before adding food to the ceramic pot.
3. Cover with the glass lid.
4. Set the control knob to the OFF posion before plugging the unit into an
electrical outlet.
5. Set the temperature to LOW or HIGH per recipe instrucons.
6. Once food is nished cooking, you can switch o the slow cooker or set it
to WARM to keep food warm up to 4 hours.
7. Turn OFF and unplug the slow cooker when nished cooking/serving your
food.
WARNINGS:
• DO NOT leave uncooked food at room temperature in the slow cooker.
• DO NOT use the slow cooker to reheat food.
• DO NOT subject the stoneware pot to sudden changes in temperature.
Adding cold water to a very hot pot could cause it to crack.
• DO NOT use the stoneware pot or glass lid in an oven, freezer,
microwave oven or on a stovetop.
HELPFUL HINTS
7
Facebook.com/GinnysBrand
• Browning foods in a pan on the stovetop seals in juices and reduces the
fat content before adding to the ceramic pot. Browning improves the
avor of the food, but is not necessary if me is limited.
• Cut root vegetables into small, even pieces. Place them at the boom of
the pot and ensure they are immersed in cooking liquid.
• Trim all excess fat from meat before cooking.
• If adapng an exisng recipe from convenonal cooking, you may need to
cut down on the amount of liquid used. Liquid will not evaporate from the
slow cooker to the same extent as with convenonal cooking.
• The stoneware pot may have minor surface blemishes and the glass lid may
rock slightly due to these imperfecons. Due to normal wear and tear,
the glaze may develop ne cracks. This is normal and will not aect
performance.
• There is an area on the base of the stoneware pot that is unglazed. This
area is porous and will soak up water when immersed in it. DO NOT allow
the pot to stand in water for a long me, but it is ne to leave water in the
pot to soak.
• The slow cooker pot should be at least half full for best results.
• Slow cooking retains moisture. If you wish to reduce moisture, remove the
lid aer cooking and turn the control to high. Simmer for 30 minutes and
excess liquid will evaporate.
• Each me you remove the lid, add an addional 10 minutes to the cooking
me.
• If cooking soups, leave a 2" space between the top of the pot and the food
surface.
• Many things can aect how quickly a recipe will cook, water and fat
content, inial temperature of the food and the size of the food.
• Aer the slow cooker is switched to OFF, there will be enough heat in the
stoneware pot to keep food warm for about 30 minutes.

1. Turn o and unplug the slow cooker.
2. Always allow the slow cooker and lid to cool completely before cleaning.
3. Use a so cloth, sponge or rubber spatula to remove any stuck-on food or
residue. Hand wash the glass lid and stoneware pot in warm, soapy water.
These items are also dishwasher safe.
4. DO NOT use abrasive brushes or pads, or harsh cleaning soluons.
5. Wipe the exterior of the base with a damp cloth.
6. DO NOT IMMERSE THE BASE, CORD OR PLUG INTO WATER.
7. Ensure all parts are dried thoroughly before reassembling and using
