1. Support the exhaust system to avoid damage during installation. Remove the (2) bolts securing the muffler
isolator mount to the hanger bracket at the rear of the muffler on each side of the vehicle as shown. Remove
the rubber isolator from the hanger forward of the exhaust split. (See Rubber Isolator Removal.)
2. Lower the exhaust by removing the muffler isolator mounts from the brackets as shown. Remove the muffler
isolator mount from the inside hanger of each muffler and allow to hang. Note: You may need to remove lower
fascia fasteners and flex fascia to raise and lower exhaust.
3. Remove the passenger side heat shield from the vehicle by using a screwdriver to remove the (3) speed nuts
securing it to the trunk pan and passenger side frame rail as shown. Using an Aviation Shears, trim the heat
shield as shown and reinstall the unhatched section on the trunk pan. (See Heat Shield Trimming.)
4. Using the access holes in the frame rails, fishwire a 1/2-13 carriage bolt and CM-SP10 spacer through the frame
rail and out of each of the (6) mounting holes as shown. (See Fishwire Technique.)
5. Remove the bolt securing the filler tube mount tab to the passenger side frame rail. Save the bolt for reuse in
Step 8.
6. At the rear most fishwired carriage bolt on each side, place a 1/2" flat washer against the frame rail over
the bolt. Temporarily secure the washer during hitch installation using a piece of tape.
7. Taking care not to push the fishwired hardware into the frame rails, raise the hitch into position, aligning the
fishwired hardware with the slots in the hitch side plates. Loosely secure the hitch to the vehicle using the (6)
1/2" hex flange nuts as shown. Remove the taped used to position the washers in Step 6. Note: If heat shield
weld stud is interfering with the fit of the hitch you may need to trim it off.
8. Torque all 1/2" hardware to 75 ft-lbs.
9. With the hitch side plate positioned between the filler tube mount tab and the frame rail, reinstall the bolt
removed in Step 5.
10. Reinstall the muffler isolator mounts onto the hangers at the rear of the mufflers. Raise the exhaust into
position and reinstall the bolts removed in Step 1 through the isolator mounts into the hanger brackets.
Reinstall the rubber isolator in front of the exhaust split and remove the exhaust system support.
(Installation is complete.)
